I took my car to be inspected for yearly registration. I was told by the repair shop that I have parts of the subframe and suspension that are excessively rusted, to the point where they are a safety concern and have to be replaced. Other model years of the first generation Jeep Compass have been issued extended warranties on those parts, and I believe it should be extended to the entire first generation of the Jeep Compass.

I was sitting in my car talking on the phone, parked in the parking lot and I felt the headrest hit the back of my head. I thought maybe somebody had hit me but nobody was behind me. The person I was on FaceTime with say and heard my head get hit and thought the same thing. Turns out it was the headrest that sprung forward and the small plastic clip that holds it together is broken. It came out of no where while I was parked and now I worry how safe would we be if I got into a collision. Additionally it vibrates now while stopped at a red light.

While driving on the freeway the AHR headrest deployed causing my head to be pushed forward. There was not an accident and the road was smooth. There was no reason for the headrest to deploy.

driving vehicle and a torrential down pour of water came out of the front interior light which is located at the windshield . The water fell onto the entire entire of the car onto me driving and almost caused an accident as I was shocked and surprised. I have a sunroof in this vehicle and in researching it find that prior lawsuits have been filed and won. Jeep is aware of this and does not inform the buyers instead ignores it. I researched and saw that the drainage tubes were too small and tend to clog up and Jeep does not inform the customer of this. When researching further this has happened over and over and no recall has ever been started. I could have died or severely injured other, Brought it to Jeeps attention and they stated we do not start recall that is up to the US government(arrogance of a supervisor) They refused to tell me who to report this to and told me to do the research myself If line is recorded it occurred11/03/2021 at app 3:10 . I paid. approximately 920.00 for the repairs where the Jeep shop left 7 inches of water on my carpeting and drivers seat. Corporate stated my problem and to deal with Jeep repair shop If prior lawsuits were won on this every one is aware of this why is a recall not done to help the consumer and Jeep made to notify their customers to have maintenance done on drain tubes. The activated headrest on the passenger side popped out randomly. The headrest is supposed to come out during a collision only. Researching this issue I have found that this is a common problem. This is obviously a safety problem as the spontaneous release could cause neck injuries, or in the case of an accident it may not work as intended. There was no warning of this in advance. The car is available for inspection, but I am now concerned for anyone riding in the passenger seat. I believe the same mechanism is on the drivers side also, so this may be an issue for that side also.

The contact owns a 2014 Jeep Compass. The contact stated while driving 60 MPH, the warning message "Automatic Transmission overheating " appeared on the instrument panel and the vehicle began to stall. The contact was able to veer to the side of the road and turned off the vehicle for a short period. The contact stated as she restarted the vehicle, she was able to drive to her destination. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the automatic transmission system was overheating, and the thermostat needed to be replaced. The contact stated the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer who informed the contact that they could not provide further assistance and advised the contact to turn off the vehicle whenever the failure reoccurred so the vehicle could cool off. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,000.

My car has a recall. I take my car to the dealership to fix the problem. But still the same problem from the same recall 2 or 3 times already. My car has been taking care in the dealership with not cost . But my big concern is why the same problem for the recall is coming back over and over. I also lost time when I take my car to the dealership even a full week. With no transportation and also always worry to go back again with the same issue . Is anyone can help me with this problem. While driving home from work one day I heard a loud sound like a gun. The headrest to the passenger seat just deployed on its own. Took it to my mechanic to be corrected and he said it couldn't be reset the clip or a pin must have broke. Then on Wednesday July 28th I got a warning light on my dashboard pertaining to airbags. Puts fear in me because I need to know that my airbags are there for me if needed. C&H AUTO CARE is aware of the problems with my vehicle. They are located in Joppa Maryland.

I was driving at a normal speed and out of no where my head rest popped out so hard. It hit the back of my head and I almost got into an accident. It scared the living daylight out of me. I thought someone hit me from behind or that I got into an accident. There was no warning for this at all. I am very scared to drive my vehicle now. My neck does hurt at the moment, but no serious injury.

MY ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM FAULT INDICATOR, STABILITY CONTROL INDICATOR AND 4 WHEEL DRIVE (WITH EXCLAMATION POINT) INDICATOR ARE ON WHEN ENGINE STARTS. WITHIN 15 SECONDS OF ME DRIVING, ALL INDICATOR LIGHTS BRIEFLY TURN OFF. THAT IS FOLLOWED BY A ~5 SECONDS OF MY CAR STALLING WITH THE STABILITY CONTROL INDICATOR BLINKING. SHORTLY AFTER, ALL LIGHTS TURN BACK ON. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE THAT I HAVE TESTED MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE COURSE OF A WEEK. I AM WORRIED TO TAKE MY CAR OUTSIDE OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND BELIEVE IT IS AN ISSUE CAUSED BY THE VEHICLE AS OPPOSED TO SELF-INFLICTED. NOTE: I HAVE REPLACED THE BATTERY AND THE ISSUE REMAINS. THE VEHICLE HAS JUST UNDER 75,000 MILES.

MULTIPLE ISSUES WITH THROTTLE BODY RESULTING IN A LOSS OF POWER AND CONTROL OF VEHICLE. BACK IN 2017, I HAD AN ISSUE WITH THE CAR JERKING, CUTTING OUT, AND LOSING POWER. TOOK CAR TO A JEEP DEALERSHIP AND THROTTLE BODY HAD TO BE REPLACED. AGAIN DURING THE SUMMER OF 2020, VEHICLE STARTED LOSING ABILITY TO CONSISTENTLY ACCELERATE. CAR BEGAN JERKING, CUTTING OUT, AND LOSING POWER ON THE ROADS AND HIGHWAY. THE VEHICLE THROTTLE LIGHT, STABILITY TRACTION CONTROL, AND ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED THROTTLE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN. REPORTED TO JEEP CORPORATE OFFICE WITH NO RESOLUTION. SEVERE SAFETY ISSUE. JEEP DOESN'T CARE AND IS CLAIMING NO RESPONSIBILITY UNTIL A RECALL HAS TO BE ISSUED.

ON MARCH 4, WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN WARM-UP PHASE AT HOME, IN IDLE, A SHARP SNAP WAS HEARD (LATER DISCOVERED WAS THE ELECTRONIC THROTTLE BODY), THEN VEHICLE SET TWO CODES (P0171, P2173), AND IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO LIMP MODE (TRACTION CONTROL OFF, THROTTLE BODY REDUCED POWER, ABS FOR SLOWING VEHICLE IF BEING DRIVEN ABOVE SLOWER SPEEDS FOR LIMP MODE). WE WERE ON A SCHEDULE, SO VEHICLE WAS SHUT OFF IMMEDIATELY AND WE USED OUR OTHER VEHICLE FOR TRANSPORT. BOTH CODES WERE RESEARCHED TO DETERMINE BEST REPAIR METHODS. SINCE THE P0171 WAS A REPEAT CODE, AND THE P2173 WAS AN UNFAMILIAR SAE CODE NOT NORMALLY USED ON MY PREVIOUS VEHICLES, A COMPLETE DISASSEMBLY OF THE INTAKE WAS WARRANTED. I AM MECHANICALLY COMPETENT DUE TO TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE AND KNOW MY OWN LIMITS OF COMPETENCY AND TOOLS FOR REPAIR. HERE ARE THE BASICS FOR REFERENCE OF WHAT WAS FOUND. 1. THE PCV VALVE (MULTIAIRE) HAD FAILED AT THE INTERNAL PINTLE, AND WAS ALLOWING CRANKCASE AIR/OIL TO ENTER THE INTAKE AT TOO HIGH A VOLUME. IT WAS REPLACED. THE MAP SENSOR SET THE P2173 CODE, THEN FAILED DUE TO OIL INTRUSION AND WAS REPLACED. THE RAPID SNAPPING OF THE THROTTLE BODY UNDER PRESSURE UNCALIBRATED THE INTERNAL THROTTLE POSITION SENSORS, AND COULD NOT MAINTAIN PROPER POSITION WAS REPLACED. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD (NEWER DESIGN FOR THE 2.0L I4 WITHOUT THE FLAPPER CONTROLS JUST GUIDE VEINS FOR THE INTAKE AIR) MAIN GASKET HAD SHRUNK IN THE PLASTIC INTAKE SEAT CHANNEL AND WAS ALLOWING OUTSIDE AIR (P0171) TO SEEP PAST THE GASKET ON THE LOWER LIP OF THE GASKET, AND WAS ALSO NOT SEALING BETWEEN THE CYLINDERS (GASES WERE TRANSFERRING BETWEEN THE CYLINDERS). THE THROTTLE BODY GASKET WAS PRISTINE. DURING REPAIR, PRESSURE TESTED INTAKE FOR LEAKS, AND TUBES AND LINES FOR CRACKS. READING SAE CODE P2173 WAS DETERMINED THAT CODE AND SUBSEQUENT LIMP MODE WAS DESIGNED TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE PLASTIC INTAKE MANIFOLD. IT WORKED.*DT CONSUMER STATED THE REASON FOR GASKET NOT SEALING, BLOW BY-GASES FROM ONE CYLINDER TO ANOTHER. CYLINDER HEAD WAS CHECK AND PLASTIC INTAKE FOR WARPING, THE

IN THE SUMMER OF 2019 I STARTED A SUMMER JOB TO EARN A LITTLE CASH FOR COLLEGE. AROUND 3-4 WEEKS WHEN I GOT THE CAR. I WENT TO WORK AND ARRIVED FOR 4:30 AM, BECAUSE I WORK WITH MY MOM AND THAT IS WHEN SHE STARTS WORK. FOR ME I START WORK AT 5:00 AM SO I SIT IN THE CAR FOR 30 MINS JUST LISTENING TO MUSIC. AROUND THAT TIME I SUDDENLY HEAR A POP NOISE AND MY HEAD WAS PUSHED FORWARD WITH A DECENT AMOUNT OF FORCE THAT I STARTED HAVING A HEADACHE. I LOOKED AROUND TO SEE IF A CAR HAD HIT ME, BUT I SAW NO CAR IN MOTION AROUND ME AT ALL. THAT'S WHEN I SAW THAT MY HEADREST WAS POPPED OUT AND WAS CONFUSED AS TO WHY. I STILL CONTINUED TO GO TO WORK WITH A HEADACHE AFTERWARDS.*DT CONSUMER STATED HEADSET WAS REPLACED.*JB
