POWER TRAIN, ENGINE
On October 11, 2026, while driving my 2019 Infiniti QX50, I experienced a sudden loss of engine power. The check-engine light began flashing, the engine started shaking and making a knocking noise, and the vehicle would not accelerate beyond approximately 20 mph despite pressing the accelerator. This unexpected loss of power created a serious safety concern because I could no longer maintain normal driving speeds. In February 2026, at approximately 170,450 miles, my vehicle underwent an inspection at Infiniti of South Atlanta under NHTSA safety recall 25V437, involving defective engine bearings. The dealership informed me that the vehicle passed because insufficient metal debris was found in the oil pan to qualify for engine replacement. Approximately eight months later, on October 12, 2026, the same dealership inspected my vehicle at 197,467 miles. The technician's notes documented failed connecting rod bearings and an injector failure. The dealership recommended replacing the engine long block, turbocharger, and associated components. The vehicle remains at the dealership, unrepaired and available for further inspection by arrangement. I am concerned that the engine experienced a bearing failure after previously passing an inspection under a safety recall involving defective engine bearings. The relationship between this failure and the recall has not yet been determined. I request that NHTSA review this incident and investigate whether the failure may be related to recall 25V437 or the effectiveness of the completed recall remedy.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
While driving on the highway, all of a sudden I heard a very loud boom and then heard some wind/air movement. The sunroom shade was closed but when i pulled over and got out, the sunroof was shattered and the sunroom framing was coming off the car. The glass that fell into the car was caught by the sunroof shade but there were large chunks of glass on the outside too with some pointing outward (as if explosion from inside and pushed it out). If the shade was open, glass would have fallen into the car and potentially caused injury to me and my dog. There were no damage or cracks in the window that were visible to cameras above my garage that morning. The dashcam footage also does not show anything coming towards the car at that moment. It is clear on the images the glass is angled out from the car. I have seen this exact case on the news and online for both Infiniti and Nissan. I was a couple miles from Infiniti and brought it in. The team working (sales team only onsite that day) have not seen this and recommended I submit to insurance as they cannot confirm the cause. I will be submitting to Infiniti Consumer Relations once they are open. I submitted claim to insurance, pending response. (Images named "IMG..." were photos taken off the exit immediately after the incident occurred.)

ENGINE, POWER TRAIN
While driving my 2019 Infiniti QX50, the engine suddenly lost significant power and entered failsafe (limp) mode due to a diagnosed VCR actuator fault (diagnostic codes P11A8-00 and P11AC-00). The sudden power loss caused a single-vehicle accident. No injuries. The vehicle had recall 25V437 service performed at Infiniti of White Plains on 08/27/2026. The check engine light was documented as ON during that visit. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the VCR actuator failure mode can cause sudden power loss creating a crash risk.

ENGINE, POWER TRAIN
While driving on the highway the vehicle would not accelerate and the oil pressure light came on. After pulling over we noticed a slight burning smell and cut the engine. After a few minutes we tried to start the car again and it would not start. Vehicle was towed to independent repair shop who told us the engine had seized. We then learned of the current recall effecting this make model and year of vehicle. The vehicle experienced the same series of events outlined in a service bulletin for the recall. Vehicle was then towed to local Infiniti dealer and they were told the engine is seized and asked to drop oil pan per recall guidelines to confirm and diagnose. After not hearing from dealer after 2 weeks I follow up to be told the vehicle had not been looked at yet and they would get it in that day and call me no later than next day. Once week goes by and they still had not contacted me. I contact them and am told the only thing wrong with my vehicle was a dead battery and that would cost X amount to replace. At that point my car had been sitting in the summer sun for 3 weeks, of course the battery is dead. I reluctantly agree to the repair. After another week I follow up on the repair and am told after replacing the battery the car still will not start and I asked again about the recall diagnosis. After another week, we contact them and am told the car shows information consistent with bearings recall and they submit to Infiniti to approve. A repair timeline is discussed at this time. 24 hours later we are contacted by dealer for first time and told it now does not fit under recall. Have a case with Nissan consumer affairs. We have asked several times for work order and photos of what they are looking at and have not received. Dealer is now asking for $300 plus dollar diagnostic fee to see what is wrong. They say sludge caused engine failure and not recall issue. It has been 46 days at this point and no resolution. Per recall, sludge can be caused by bearings issue

ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
The contact owns a 2019 Infiniti QX50. The contact stated that while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle stalled; however, the contact was able to pull off the highway safely to a safe place. There was an abnormal burning odor coming from the vehicle. The oil pressure warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic and was diagnosed with a seized engine. The vehicle was later towed to dealer to see if the failure was associated with NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). However, the contact was notified that failure was caused by sludge in engine and could not qualify under the recall. The contact stated that the vehicle had exhibited the failure described in the recall, but the manufacturer and dealer refused to repair the vehicle without charge. The manufacturer was contacted by phone and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,000.

ENGINE
#11753348 - on 7/1/2026, Infiniti Dealer found metal shavings actively present in my oil pan during a recall inspection. They passed the vehicle as good condition stating nothing found per a vehicle inspection report given to me. On July 25, 2026, my engine red light came on while driving and my engine began to shake violently and making a loud clunking noise. I towed the vehicle back to the dealer for another recall inspection. On 8/30/2026, the dealer informed me that the engine was failing due to the recall and needing bearing replacement but due to it passing back in July I would be responsible for replacing the bearings. They invoiced me for excess of $15,000, the diagnostic inspection of $270 and demanded that I return the loaner vehicle. When I returned the loaner vehicle on 9/3/2026, they attempted to sell me a new/pre-owned vehicle instead of providing me a written denial refusal notice of not honoring the vehicle recall. On 9/5/2026 Infiniti Consumer Affairs representative verbally confirmed that they were informed by the dealer that there were metal shavings present in my oil pan but denied the repair because there were not "chunks" or "clusters" of metal present. The manufacturer verbally claimed that the metal debris did not meet an internal, undocumented threshold of "chunks" or "clusters," and explicitly stated that Infiniti considered my vehicle's mileage and vehicle age and sludge present on the latter inspection that was not present on July 1 nor reported in making this denial decision. The representative also referenced a photograph sent to them at the end of August as justification for the denial. This photograph was not taken nor sent to them during the actual July 1st inspection. The dealer had already informed me that they did not send the manufacturer a photograph on July 1. The manufacturer refused to provide me written notice refusing to honor the recall and said to get it from the dealer.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally request immediate assistance regarding a serious failure in my INFINITI vehicle. The vehicle’s compressor stopped working with fewer than 60,000 miles driven, which is unacceptable for a new vehicle and raises significant concerns about manufacturing quality and safety. This failure is especially troubling because the vehicle has already been subject to multiple serious engine-related recalls number NHTSA Recall 25V-437. The air conditioning stopped working properly after the car was serviced for this recall. The combination of repeated critical issues and now a major component failure at under 60K miles suggests a pattern of defects that should not exist in a vehicle of this class or price point. I am requesting the following: A full diagnostic review at no cost, Taverna Infinity is trying to charge me $300.00 for a simple diagnosis. Written confirmation of whether this failure is related to existing or pending recalls A clear explanation of how INFINITI intends to ensure the long‑term reliability and safety of this vehicle Consideration for replacement or buyback if the vehicle continues to demonstrate systemic defects I expect a prompt response, as this situation has already caused significant inconvenience and raises legitimate concerns about the vehicle’s safety and reliability. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your timely reply. Sincerely,

STRUCTURE:BODY, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The power liftgate (automatic trunk) system on my 2019 Infiniti QX50 malfunctioned. After fully opening, the liftgate unexpectedly closed on its own without any warning beeps or resistance detection. This poses a severe safety risk. The heavy door struck my head, causing a physical injury (a severe bump/contusion). The vehicle and the affected components are available for inspection upon request. This problem has not yet been inspected, reproduced, or confirmed by a dealer, manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives, as I am reporting this dangerous safety defect immediately. Furthermore, there were no warning lamps, error messages, or any other symptoms prior to this sudden failure.

POWER TRAIN
My 2019 Infiniti QX50 has the KR20DDET 2.0L VC-Turbo engine involved in NHTSA Recall 25V437/Infiniti Campaign R25B2 for potential engine-bearing failure, but my VIN does not currently show an open recall. The vehicle is at Infiniti Milwaukee, [XXX], [XXX]. During inspection, bronze-colored metallic glitter/debris was found in the engine oil. This may indicate internal bearing wear and appears consistent with the metal debris that Recall 25V437 requires dealers to check for in the lower oil pan. The dealership is refusing to acknowledge or report the bronze-colored debris as possible bearing material. It reported only “engine sludge” to Infiniti and is treating the engine repair as customer-pay. Sludge and bronze-colored metallic particles are visibly different conditions. The vehicle and engine are available for inspection at the dealership. I requested preservation of the oil, filter, oil-pan contents, photographs, video and technician findings. Bearing failure could cause engine damage or loss of power while driving, increasing crash risk. Warning lights before inspection: UNKNOWN. The exact composition of the debris is UNKNOWN pending testing. You see metal debris in oil pan of the video of an engine that failed citing sledge while clearing seeing metal debris in the photo provided by the dealership. I request that NHTSA investigate whether this vehicle was incorrectly excluded from the recall and whether recall-related metallic debris is being misclassified as sludge. LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES
The contact owns a 2019 Infiniti QX50. The contact stated that after turning the vehicle off and exiting with the keys remaining inside the vehicle, the contact opened rear driver’s side door to retrieve a diaper bag and closed the door. While attempting to open the rear passenger’s side door to remove the child from the vehicle, the contact discovered that all four doors were locked. The Police and Fire Department was called to the scene. The window was intentionally fractured to unlock the door, and the child was removed from the vehicle. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The local dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 57,859.

ENGINE, POWER TRAIN, VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
2019 Infiniti QX50 with engine bearing failure defect matching NHTSA Recall #25V-437. Vehicle was sold to me on 12/24/2025 by a dealer, MORE THAN FIVE MONTHS after the recall was issued on 07/14/2025. The dealer NEVER disclosed the active, unrepaired safety recall. Two months after purchase, the engine developed loss of power and unusual noises - exact symptoms described in the recall. An independent mechanic diagnosed a pre-existing camshaft bearing defect. Despite component replacement, symptoms persist, confirming the defect was present at time of sale. This is a serious safety violation. The dealer knew or should have known about the recall via CARFAX and failed to disclose it, violating federal law 49 U.S.C. § 30120. The vehicle is unsafe to drive with an unrepaired engine bearing failure. Safety Risk: Engine bearing degradation can lead to complete engine failure while driving, resulting in loss of motive power and crash risk. Requested Action: Federal investigation into dealer's failure to disclose active safety recalls.

The issue on the 2019 Infiniti QX50 it's not the motor that they had the recall on it's the VCR actuator it goes bad causes the bracket that's connected to rub against the side of the engine block causes it to have metal shavings and the car to go in limp mode and can cause an accident it's a common issue just put one in and already bad not even a year The original one made it to $47,000 mi before going bad

The vehicle experienced hesitation, delayed acceleration, and multiple warning lights while driving. The loss of power was severe enough that the driver became afraid to make left turns across traffic because the vehicle would not accelerate quickly or consistently when needed. This created a significant safety risk, as the driver could not reliably judge whether the vehicle would clear an intersection before oncoming traffic. A diagnostic trouble code related to the turbocharger control system was retrieved during the first visit to the dealership. The vehicle was brought in for a recall inspection involving potential engine bearing wear and oil pressure issues, but the recall inspection was not performed on the first visit and was rescheduled. On the way to the recall appointment, additional warning lights illuminated and the vehicle again lost power. The dealership kept the vehicle and stated that further diagnostics were needed. Over several days, the dealership reported that diagnostics were being performed, but no diagnostic results, measurements, technician notes, or recall determination were provided. The manufacturer later confirmed that they had not received any diagnostic information from the dealership and could not proceed with the recall case. The dealership verbally stated that the turbocharger issue was “not related to the recall,” but no documentation was provided to support this. Instead, the dealership sent a cost‑sharing repair proposal without identifying the failed component, the cause of the failure, or whether the failure was related to the recall. Warning lamps and reduced performance first appeared on the initial date of symptoms and continued through the recall appointment. The recall process remains incomplete because the dealership has not provided the required diagnostic documentation.

POWER TRAIN
I am the owner of a 2019 Infiniti QX50, VIN [XXX] , and I am filing this complaint due to repeated, severe mechanical failures that have rendered my vehicle unreliable and unsafe. Since purchasing the vehicle, I have experienced catastrophic failures requiring two complete engine replacements, two turbocharger replacements, and one transmission replacement. My vehicle has spent over one year cumulatively at repair shops, leaving me without transportation and in constant fear for my safety. I am unable to drive this vehicle on the highway or for long distances due to the very real risk of sudden engine stall or failure at speed. I am aware that Nissan has issued Recall 25V-437 acknowledging manufacturing defects in the VC-Turbo engine bearings on the 2019–2022 Infiniti QX50, and I believe my vehicle's repeated failures are directly related to this defect. Despite multiple repair attempts by authorized Infiniti dealerships, the underlying issues have not been resolved. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate this vehicle and pressure Nissan/Infiniti to provide an appropriate remedy, including a full vehicle repurchase or buyback. My family's safety is at risk every time we are forced to drive this vehicle. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

The contact owns a 2019 Infiniti QX50. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, there was an abnormally loud sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V437000 (Engine and Engine Cooling). The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with engine failure due to metal shavings found in the oil pan. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was denied an engine replacement. The dealer informed the contact that the claim was denied due to the vehicle exceeding the warranty mileage and a lack of proper maintenance. The contact provided maintenance records; however, the claim was still denied. The dealer stated that the failure was related to insufficient maintenance and not the recall. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was opened. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
Good morning, I am writing to formally escalate a serious and unresolved safety concern involving my vehicle and to follow up on my existing case (Case #XXX). On April 22, 2026, while driving on the highway at approximately 55 mph, my vehicle suddenly performed a hard stop as if it detected an imminent collision. At the time, there were no visible obstructions or vehicles directly in front of me that would have warranted automatic emergency braking. This is a repeat issue. A nearly identical incident occurred on August 8, 2025, which was previously reported. Despite that report, the problem remains unresolved and continues to present a significant safety risk. These unexpected braking events create a hazardous driving condition with a clear risk of rear-end collision, particularly at highway speeds. Based on the pattern and circumstances, this strongly suggests a false activation of the automatic emergency braking system or a related safety system malfunction. Given the repeated nature of this issue and the potential safety implications, I am formally requesting: * Immediate escalation of this case to the appropriate engineering or safety review team * A full investigation as a potential safety defect * Identification of any related technical service bulletins, recalls, or known system issues * A clear plan and timeline for diagnosis and resolution at an authorized INFINITI dealership * Confirmation of whether reimbursement or other corrective action will be considered given the ongoing safety risk and repeated service attempts Please confirm receipt of this escalation in writing, along with next steps and assigned case handling details. I expect timely and serious attention to this matter given the safety risk involved. Sincerely, XXX XXX
