Pressed button to open glass sunroof and glass panel crookedly began opening with one side opening farther than the other until it stopped midway with a loud grinding noise. It stopped crooked in the tracks. It would not open. It would not completely close and the rear was left protruding above the roof line. There was nothing holding the back of the glass panel to the tracks. I could lift the back freely. A strong gust of wind or a passing truck could lift the panel. If the glass panel were to separate from the vehicle, a displaced panel could increase the potential of a crash or injury to other road users. I did not feel it was safe to drive it on the highway and took it to the Hyundai dealer where it sat until repaired on 4/7/2026 with redesigned deflector attachments, carriage bars and driving wedges. Hyundai TSB 23-BD-003H-1 describes this cascading failure of the defective air deflector breaking apart and damaging the sunroof tracks and specifies redesigned parts but fails to take in consideration that the glass panel is not held firmly in place once the connection between panel and tracks have failed. Prior to the sunroof’s failure I was unaware that a TBS had been issued. I had only opened the sunroof about a dozen times and received no warning of the failure. Subaru has issued a vehicle recall 26V346 which also results in a loose glass roof as a recognized safety risk including crash, fire, health, injury. Please encourage Hyundai to recognize the safety risk of a potential crash or injury to other road users of a loose glass sunroof as Subaru has and not as a warranty issue.

I am writing to formally request reconsideration of Hyundai’s denial of assistance for the transmission failure in my 2021 Hyundai Palisade. I purchased this vehicle with the expectation that Hyundai vehicles are built to provide dependable transportation and that major components such as the transmission would last well beyond the current mileage and age of the vehicle. Unfortunately, I have experienced a significant transmission failure that has resulted in substantial repair costs. I have made every effort to properly maintain this vehicle and have acted responsibly as an owner. Given the relatively recent model year of the vehicle, I believe a transmission failure of this magnitude is unreasonable and may indicate a defect in materials or workmanship. I respectfully request that Hyundai review my case again and consider providing goodwill assistance, cost-sharing, or full coverage of the transmission repair. As a long-time consumer, I am extremely disappointed with the current outcome and hope Hyundai will stand behind its product. I would appreciate a written response explaining the reason for the denial and any options available for further review.

- #11741851June 3, 2026ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
The digital instrument cluster on my 2021 Hyundai Palisade completely and intermittently fails while the vehicle is in motion, dropping the speedometer, fuel gauge, and all safety indicators to zero. The system also issues erroneous audio warnings such as 'wrong way driving detected' while the cluster is blank. I have documented this severe safety hazard on video multiple times over the last 14 months and provided the footage to Dublin Hyundai. Despite three separate dealership visits (April 2025, June 2025, and June 2026), the dealership refuses to repair the vehicle stating they cannot replicate the issue and dismissing my video evidence. This mirrors the exact manufacturing defect outlined in Hyundai Safety Recall 230 (NHTSA Campaign 22V353) for the 2022 Palisade. I am requesting an investigation to expand Recall 230 to the 2021 model year, as driving without a speedometer or warning lights is a life-threatening safety defect.

NHTSA recall number 25V-607. I've been trying to have this recall service performed but have been notified since NOVEMBER 2025 the parts are on backorder. Was scheduled to have the recall service performed today and upon arrival was informed that the parts were not available after being told that the parts were in?????? 6 months is a reasonable amount of time to has this performed, why is Hyundai slow walking this safety issue?

My vehicle is unusable due to the 2 recalls, Hyundai has taken control of the vehicle. Recall 292 does not have a fix and the seat belt recall has a shortage of parts. I have been trying for months to get this corrected.

Vehicle Information: 2020 Hyundai Palisades VIN: [XXX] Mileage: 74,212 Hyundai is mishandling Recall 292 (NHTSA 26V034000), which involves a failure to comply with FMVSS 226 and creates an occupant ejection risk. The affected seating position in my vehicle is used by my [XXX] child and is unsafe until a remedy exists. Hyundai has no remedy available and has refused to provide any written safety guidance or interim transportation. Beginning 5/29/26, I requested that Hyundai open a new case specifically for Recall 292. Hyundai has refused to open a case despite multiple written requests. Instead, they repeatedly redirected me to phone numbers and generic inboxes, avoiding written communication. They have not answered whether the vehicle is safe to operate, whether the affected seat can be used, or whether they will provide a loaner or rental while no remedy exists. Hyundai also claimed to have sent a Zelle reimbursement on 5/28/26 but refused to provide a timestamp needed for bank verification. When asked again in writing, Hyundai ignored the question and repeated the same deflection responses. Across multiple emails (5/29, 6/1, 6/1), Hyundai ignored every recall‑related question, refused to provide written guidance, refused to open a case, and refused to address the child‑safety implications. This appears to be a pattern of procedural and substantive non‑compliance with recall communication requirements. I previously had to involve the Maryland Attorney General regarding Hyundai’s handling of another safety‑related issue on this vehicle, indicating a broader pattern of evasive behavior. - #11741368June 1, 2026LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
"The front view camera (FR_CMR) failed due to an internal control chip defect. The component is available for inspection — it is currently at the dealership. Multiple ADAS safety systems were simultaneously disabled, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Attention Warning, and High Beam Assist. This puts both the driver and other road users at risk by removing all active collision prevention and lane keeping systems while driving at highway speeds with no backup warning. The problem has been confirmed by the Hyundai dealership via GDS diagnostic scan showing two DTCs: C160649 (ECU Software Error – Front View Camera) and C180581 (LKAS CAN Signal Error). The vehicle has been inspected by the dealer. Dealer repair order quotes $1,511.87 for camera replacement and calibration. Warning lights for Forward Collision, Driver Attention Warning, and High Beam Assist appeared on the instrument cluster and have remained on continuously. Systems have been disabled since the warning lights first appeared. This is a known internal control chip defect documented in Kia TSB ELE231 (Rev 2, August 2021), covering the identical camera assembly shared across the Hyundai/Kia platform. The same DTCs and same fix — front camera replacement, variant coding, and calibration — are confirmed repaired on other 2020 Palisade Limited vehicles under warranty. Hyundai has not issued a corresponding TSB for the Palisade despite the identical failure mode and shared part. VIN: [XXX] ." We purchased our palisade in October of 2020 brand new from the dealer. On march 5th 2021 @ 7946 miles on the car we took it in to the dealer because the passenger rear seatbelt had released on its own when braking hard with a child buckled in a booster seat. They said they could not verify the problem. Then again on April 22 2022 @ 37,924 miles we again took the palisade back in because the driver rear middle row seat was showing buckled but it was not buckled and upon wiggling the seat belt it was turning on and off and not buckling. At that time they found the middle row left seat belt buckle not latching intermediately and said it was working again. Since then it has still continued to come unbuckled to this day. I have recently received from Hyundai a National safety recall about the issue and it's going back in for a third time now to resolve the issue. As of currently they will not be able to fix the issue because they do not have the parts and do not have an estimate of when they will be available. I also received a new National safety recall for the side curtain airbags in the third row not to the standards and are a safety concern. This vehicle has been a safety concern from the day I drove it off the lot and thank god only that we are good drivers we did not get into a accident the many many times we have been in the vehicle full of people as it could have been catastrophic and even have cause multiple possible deaths due to the failure of these different equipment during a accident. At this time this vehicle is not safe for my family to be in.

The wipers stopped working midway and they wouldn’t come back on until 15 minutes afterwards. It was pouring down rain and the visibility was terrible and couldn’t see anything in front of me. Our safety was at risk because of the wipers and windshield. We just got our vehicle on 5/12 - and on 5/20 it first happened then took it in - got a loner car - picked up the vehicle 5/21 and on 5/23 the wipers stopped working again and our safety was at risk and visibility was awful. On our vehicle has been at the dealership since 5/25 and haven’t heard from them yet.

My 2022 Hyundai Palisade recently blew the engine due to very little oil (6 quarts). My wife stated that she was driving when it started to act weird. Very shortly after that she heard the vehicle making a loud knocking / banging sound. She stopped the vehicle and turned it off in the nearest parking lot. We had the vehicle towed to our certified mechanic to have it looked at. 6 quarts of oil was put into the engine before it was full. Both him and my wife stated the vehicle never showed a check engine light, low oil light or oil pressure problems. He stated the vehicle had no leaks. He advised us that Hyundai/Kia was having problems burning oil. This is a high risk and safety concerns since there was no warning, happened suddenly and could cause problems for people to find a safe place to pull off the roadway and interstate. So many things can happen if someone didn't hear the noise or have lights indicating a problem, therefor if this happened on the interstate people could struggle getting to the shoulder when engine locks up. Also, a piston or connecting rod can be ejected from an engine risking the safety of pedestrians on foot or driving down the road.

I have taken my car to Jerry V’s Honolulu, and Tony’s Hyundai here on Oahu, neither dealership has been able to remedy this issue with my seatbelts. The recall has been out for a while and they cannot seam to get a part in stock. My seatbelts are not always locking, and this is an extreme safety issue. If I got i a wreck and it didn’t lock on the slip, I could fly out of the vehicle, or my child could. I am an active duty military member as well. I spend so much on this car a month and getting this fixed should be easily remedied.

Five days after I bought my vehicle, I was driving down the freeway that was very empty. A small rock hit my windshield, I think… I never saw anything. It caused an explosion on the right side of my windshield and glass shattered inside the vehicle. I made a claim with my insurance and pay the $500 deductible and got the windshield replaced. Two days after I replaced the windshield, a small something hit my windshield and made a tiny rock chip. A few days later, I went to get the rock chip repaired, and as soon as the technician put the device and started to fill the rock chip, the wind shield cracked halfway across. I have been driving for almost 40 years and I have replaced one windshield and repaired maybe three rock chips. To have had a car for five weeks (two of which I couldn't drive because the windshield "exploded" crack was too deep), and already have paid TWO $500 deductibles and made two windshield claims is absolutely unbelievable. There has to be a flaw in the glass. The auto glass professionals said that they have replaced three windshields on Palisades in the past week.

- #11740878May 29, 2026VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL
While traveling along a high-speed highway, our 2026 Palisade unexpectedly suffered a severe loss of acceleration. Despite fully depressing the accelerator pedal, the vehicle struggled to exceed approximately 20 miles per hour. This alarming malfunction placed us in a precarious and potentially dangerous situation, as the drastic reduction in speed exposed us to the risk of being rear-ended by faster-moving traffic. On a separate occasion, the vehicle again exhibited troubling behavior, failing to respond appropriately while merging onto the highway. This hesitation significantly compromised our ability to safely enter the flow of traffic and could have easily resulted in a collision. Disturbingly, in both incidents, the vehicle provided no warning indicators or alerts on the dashboard, leaving us without any guidance or explanation for these critical failures.

We brought our vehicle to Anaheim Hyundai for a recall-related service update. Before releasing the vehicle back to us, dealership staff advised that we “may experience some issues” after the update and stated that this was considered “normal.” Later that same evening, the vehicle began stalling while driving. The stalling occurred 7–8 times in different driving situations, including while turning through a busy intersection with oncoming traffic. Each incident created a serious safety hazard, especially because all three of our young children were in the vehicle at the time. During each stall event, the vehicle would suddenly shake, the dashboard warning lights would illuminate, the engine would shut off, and we were forced to restart the vehicle in traffic. In addition, the RPM gauge now constantly fluctuates and shakes while driving. We immediately returned the car to the dealership. Initially, we were told there were no diagnostic error codes. Shortly afterward, the dealership informed us there was a code related to the instrument cluster. They worked with Hyundai technical support to replace and recalibrate the instrument cluster. During this process, the dealership also claimed that our battery was contributing to the stalling issue. At that point, we learned that the dealership technician had jump-started the vehicle while performing the recall update during our original visit. Based on the dealership’s recommendation, we replaced the battery. However, the stalling issue continued even after the battery replacement. We returned the vehicle a second time for the same unresolved stalling problem. During that visit, the dealership stated the issue was caused by the gas we were using, specifically Costco fuel. We were informed that multiple diagnostic codes had appeared, yet the vehicle was returned to us without the issue being resolved. Prior to the recall service, we never had any stalling or drivability issues with the vehicle.

My Hyundai Palisade was bought brand new in 2020. It currently has 131,500 miles on it. I noticed at around 110,000 miles that my oil was getting low before each oil change. I check my oil frequently. No oil leaks can be found. So the engine is burning oil somehow. My mechanic says Hyundai says its acceptable for it to burn oil after 100,000 miles but 2 quarts between oil changes seems excessive. Ive talked to other Palisade owners who have this year model and have the same issue. If I were not a responsible consumer and checked my oil as frequently as I do then its very possible another consumer could have burned their engine up before they knew what was happening because there is no leak just burning of the oil. This is very dangerous.

The driver's seat automatic memory/easy-access feature experienced a severe safety system failure. While the seat was automatically moving backward, it hit a child car seat installed in the second row. Instead of detecting the obstruction and stopping, the anti-pinch/contact-detection sensor completely failed. The motor continued to forcefully push backward, crushing against the car seat and ripping open the driver's seatback panel. This failure creates a severe child entrapment and crushing hazard. This contact-detection logic issue highly resembles the power seat recall defects reported for 2026 Palisade models.
