When I am stopped at a red light, the auto shutoff is activated, and when I lift off the brake and try to accelerate forward at the green light, the vehicle stalls for about 15 seconds, leaving the driver and passengers vulnerable to a car accident. One of the passenger seatbelts triggers the "no seatbelt" alarm, even when the passenger is buckled. If no one is seated there, there is no alarm. This only happens when someone is seated there. In order to bypass the alarm sound, the passenger has to unbuckle and re-buckle so that the car knows that the passenger is seated. Once the car shifts after a turn or curved road, the alarm will sound again. During an average 20 minute car ride, it'll probably do this 5-6 times, depending on how many turns or curves there are on the route.

Auto idle stop feature causes vehicle to shut off completely at red lights and stop signs. This is very dangerous as cars can be coming up behind us in stop and go traffic. Has happened multiple times since we purchased new vehicle in Feb 2025. Vehicle has been serviced by Honda dealership but problem persists.

On multiple occasions, after the engine auto start/stop has turned the engine off at a stop, the engine fails to restart. This leaves the car stalled in the roadway. This has led to multiple unsafe situations as traffic flow is disrupted must divert around the stalled car in the middle of the roadway. There have been no other warning signs or symptoms leading up to this issue. The vehicle has not yet been inspected, a inspection at a Honda service center is scheduled for next week

Once the vehicle's auto idle stop system engaged at a traffic light, and the engine failed to restart automatically leaving us stranded in active traffic. We usually disable the system but forgot that time. It has also required multiple manual push-button attempts to start from a parked position at home and in public parking lots. The vehicle was brought to an authorized Honda dealership for this issue. The dealer stated they could not replicate the symptom, diagnosed it as a low battery, and charged the battery. The issue persists. Failing to restart at a traffic light creates an immediate rear-end collision hazard and leaves occupants vulnerable in the middle of active intersections.

The malfunction involves the Auto Idle Stop / Auto Start-Stop restart system on my 2025 Honda Odyssey, including related battery, charging, starter, starter relay, brake switch, and Power Distribution Module components. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. The vehicle has shut off while stopped in traffic, usually at a red light, and failed to restart normally. This has happened four separate times. This puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the vehicle can become disabled in an active traffic lane or intersection, creating a rear-end collision hazard and blocking traffic. I took the vehicle to Hill Country Honda in San Antonio, Texas. I told the dealership the vehicle had stopped and failed to restart normally multiple times, and I provided video and pictures to the service advisor. The dealership stated the battery had run down because of the Auto Idle Stop system and charged the battery for approximately two hours. I was also told that if it happens again, the procedure may be to charge the battery again before moving forward with further diagnosis or repair. As far as I know, the dealer has not reproduced the failure while in possession of the vehicle. However, they were made aware of the repeated failures and reviewed the video/pictures I provided. I do not know whether American Honda has inspected the vehicle. It has not been inspected by police or insurance representatives. Warning messages appeared during the failure, including “System problem detected. Shift to Park” and “To continue to drive, depress brake pedal and push switch.” These appeared when the Auto Idle Stop system had shut the engine off and the vehicle did not restart normally. I had no clear warning before the first incident.

Mother single , sole support 4 babies and going through divorce needed a vehicle right away . Carvana rated this car 94 after its 150 pt inspection . It was noted that it was in an accident. Driving the babies on interstate the Pilar flew off, later on still on interstate , ck engine light came on, then steering warning, brake warning and sudden loss of speed . Car would not accelerate beyond 40 miles per hour . Day 32 car was taken to Honda where she found she could not open the hood. Car was then sent to Gerber A very quick look found upper tie bar was “buckled” the dipstick bent and radiator “floating” also impact bar was missing or bent … read Gerber report for clarification , told with hood misaligned and latch bent way back hood could possibly fly up and no front end protection in a collision. I am horrified and begging for emergency swap… they are claiming cosmetic … BUCKLED upper tie bar?? They are waiting on a more detailed report gambling with 5 lives or more ! I loaned this child7000 to help lower payments . I wanted her to have a safe vehicle to drive. This is undrivable yet she cannot afford rental.. why are they waiting for detailed when we know it was wrecked January 13 2026 and obviously NOT a 94 and safety inspection 150 was clearly fraud I would never have let her and those babies buy a wrecked piece of junk! I am scared EVERYTIME she gets behind the wheel. The amount of time is taking away from her new job. She is sole support please help emergency swap now

The vehicle has an automatic stop/start feature that is enabled by default, though there is a button readily accessible to deactivate the function easily ea. time the vehicle is operated. The vehicle has just had the starter replaced under warranty @ 25K miles. There have been issues with the vehicle struggling to start for at least six months now - rough, slow starts where the engine is struggling to turn over. If I forget to turn off the auto-start/stop function, the engine will sometimes shut off at a red light - but it won't turn on again when the light turns green and it's time to move. I have had this happen a handful of times in traffic - the engine turns off and will not restart when normal procedures are followed.

POWER TRAIN
While driving approximately 75 mph on I-77 S our van stopped accelerating without warning. The engine would rev but no acceleration was occuring. There had been no signs of any issue prior and no warning lights appeared. We were able to make it to the side of the road and immediately called a tow truck to take us to the nearest Honda dealership. We had to wait on the side of a very busy interstate with our one and three year old and then get all of us safely to the dealership after the tow truck arrived. We were lucky that the sudden stop to our acceleration did not cause an accident and that we were not hit while parked on the shoulder (the tow truck driver indicated that there had been two collisions of that nature in that area in the month before our incident). The dealership confirmed that the transmission needed to be replaced a couple of days later. When asked what the issue was we were really only given a vague explanation of a part inside potentially failing and causing a ripple effect. The van was 6 months out of the five year warranty and only 272 miles over the 60k warranty. It had previously been serviced by a Honda dealership in March of this year and nothing was noted at that time about the transmission needing attention (such as a transmission fluid change). At no point had the onboard "Maintenance Minder" indicated that we needed a transmission fluid change as well. The service technician who diagnosed the transmission failure also indicated that there was nothing in the transmission fluid (like parts or metal shavings) to show where the failure occurred. The fact that a transmission would have a complete failure with zero warnings beforehand or any real explanation at 60k miles seems like a serious design flaw.

I was waiting at a stop light. The idle system kicked and the vehicle turned off, as expected. Upon lifting my foot off the brake, the vehicle failed to start and the car went into park. I was unable to restart the car after holding the brake pedal down and pressing the start button multiple times. After many failed attempts, I shut off the power to the vehicle, waited a min or so and restarted the vehicle. I then put the car in drive and continued thru the intersection. This was in a busy intersection and could have easily caused an accident, but thankfully it did not. This is the 3 time this has occurred with this vehicle.

VISIBILITY/WIPER
The remedy for Safety Recall 23V-431 (MOST bus FAKRA connectors), performed 8/2023 at Joyce Koons Honda (Manassas, VA), has failed. The recall's stated safety risk, rearview camera failure when MOST communication is lost over 20 seconds, now occurs regularly on my vehicle. Symptoms began early 2025 and have worsened: intermittent loss of the rearview camera in reverse, infotainment reboots, and speaker popping (the warning signs listed in the Part 573 report). On [XXX] the infotainment system and backup camera were unavailable for over 50% of a long drive. Vehicle logs show 822 MOST network signal-loss events from [XXX] to [XXX] (avg ~15/week), predominantly "Tuner_Amplifier_Unit SUDDEN_SIGNAL_OFF" and "Meter SUDDEN_SIGNAL_OFF", the exact failure mode the recall remedy was meant to correct. I can provide the log data (chart and CSV). I reported the recurrence to the dealer on 5/31/2025; they said they could not reproduce it, and vehicle logs were cleared up to that date. I opened American Honda case #[XXX] in 10/2025 and escalated as case #[XXX] in 6/2026. On 7/1/2026 an American Honda representative told me Honda cannot authorize service without a dealer diagnosis and that I must pay out of pocket for diagnosis of this failed recall remedy, with reimbursement only as discretionary "goodwill." This appears inconsistent with 49 U.S.C. 30120, which requires recall remedies at no charge, including when the original remedy was inadequate. Honda revised Service Bulletin 23-046 to Version 3 on 12/18/2024, after my repair, revising parts and repair information, which suggests earlier repairs were performed with superseded parts or procedures. This is a rear-visibility (FMVSS 111) safety defect. Please record this as a failed recall remedy for 23V-431. In mid-March 2026, the power tailgate on my [year] Honda Odyssey lost power entirely. It does not respond to the key fob, the tailgate button, or the dashboard button — it will not open or close by any control. I personally inspected the tailgate area and found corrosion and rust present, consistent with prior water intrusion. I have since learned that this is a widely reported issue among 2018–2021 Honda Odyssey owners, and that a class action lawsuit ([XXX] v. American Honda Motor Co., Inc., filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California) alleges a defect in rear body seam seals that lets water leak into the power tailgate control module, causing it to fail. The vehicle has an Auto Idle Stop no-restart/stalling issue. While stopped at a traffic light/intersection, Auto Idle Stop engaged. When attempting to proceed, the vehicle did not resume driving normally, shifted itself into Park, dashboard warning lights flashed, and the only way to move again was to turn the vehicle completely off and restart it. This left the vehicle disabled in traffic and created a serious rear-end collision/intersection hazard. The issue was confirmed by a Honda dealer on 06/26/2026 at approximately 11,804 miles. The repair order states that code P07AF was stored and that a snapshot showed a drop in cranking voltage due to a failing starter. The dealer advised that the starter must be replaced, but stated the starter is on severe backorder. The vehicle remains unrepaired. Honda customer service case #16464445. The vehicle is a low-mileage 2025 Honda Odyssey purchased new in April 2025 and used as a family vehicle to transport children. Prior Honda service records show maintenance was performed at approximately 9,800 miles, including a multi-point inspection, and the battery terminals/cables/mountings and battery condition were checked OK at that time. This appears related to NHTSA Engineering Analysis EA25004, “No Restart After Auto Start/Stop Engages,” involving 2018–2025 Honda Odyssey vehicles. The failed starter/vehicle is available for inspection upon request.

While the start stop feature is active, there have been several times where the van will not restart at a stoplight. In some cases, I have had to turn off the A/C, or other electrical systems to allow the car to restart. This has happened in traffic and caused several backups while I tried to restart the car. Took this van to the dealer and while they checked the systems they did not find any issued. As we progress through summer and into fall/winter, I do not want to have to worry about this in poor weather.

My 2025 Honda Odyssey has experienced the same problem 4 times when stopped at a light. The engine shuts off when stopped at a light but then fails to restart and instead the vehicle automatically shifts to park and stalls; the battery light illuminates and the whole vehicle has to be shut off before the vehicle will restart and be able to shift into drive. It appears this is a problem with the "Auto Idle Stop feature." It happened twice a few weeks apart and then happened twice during the same 30-minute drive. The vehicle also jumps/jerks forward occasionally when my foot is removed from the break at a stop sign or light in a way that doesn't seem normal.

The contact owns a 2025 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that while at a stop with the Auto BRAKE HOLD engaged, the vehicle stalled. The contact activated the hazard lights. The contact restarted the vehicle, and the vehicle resumed normal operation. There were no warning lights illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,600.

SEATS
The front seat slide lever on my 2023 Honda Odyssey failed completely on its own with no accident, force, or misuse involved. The lever detached from the seat rail mechanism, making it impossible to slide the seat forward or backward. The vehicle was purchased in August 2022 and this failure occurred approximately 3.5 years later, just 10 months outside the bumper-to-bumper warranty. When I brought the vehicle to the Honda dealer, I was informed I would be charged $100 for diagnostics even if I declined the repair, leaving me no real choice but to proceed. The total repair cost was $276 (parts $189.78, labor $70.95, misc $15.60) plus taxes. I contacted Honda Customer Relations requesting goodwill reimbursement. After a 3-week review, Honda denied the request. I believe this may be a manufacturing defect as another owner of the same Odyssey model has reported the identical failure.
