The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60-70 MPH, the steering wheel was clicking while attempting to turn to the left or the right, and the vehicle became difficult to steer. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the steering rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired at the owner's expense. In addition, the contact was advised that if the failure was recall-related, the vehicle would be covered; however, the repairs were denied. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 18V663000 (Steering); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 67,796.

- #11697969November 6, 2025VISIBILITY/WIPER, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I am reporting a safety issue with my 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid. The driver-side front mirror becomes blurry at highway speeds (60–70+ mph) and sometimes even above 40 mph on uneven roads, making it difficult to see vehicles behind me and creating a significant safety hazard, particularly when changing lanes or merging onto highways. The visibility issue worsens in rain, wind, or other adverse weather conditions, further compromising safe driving. Despite four service visits at my dealership, including a complete mirror replacement on August 25, 2025, the issue persists. Follow-up visits on October 20, 2025, and November 2025 confirmed that the problem was not resolved. My dealership has acknowledged that this may be a manufacturer defect and recommended that I contact Honda directly. This recurring issue directly affects safe vehicle operation and remains unresolved despite multiple documented repair attempts. I am submitting this complaint to formally document the safety concern and request appropriate manufacturer action.

All the dashboard warning lights came on. The car became shaky, wouldn’t go above 10mph. All safety features were turned off. I couldn’t go up a hill. Eventually I just parked it and had it towed. I tried a hard reset thinking maybe a glitch. Didn’t help.

I have lost steering power on two separate occasions in the last week. When this happens the steering wheel locks in place. Once while I was reversing, I went to turn the wheel and the steering wheel was frozen in place. I pulled back into the spot put the car in park and then back in reverse and the wheel was still locked in place. I had to shut off the car and restart it 5 times for the wheel to unlock itself. The second incident was while I was driving. I was doing around 40 MPH and went to make a lane change and the wheel was locked in place. This lasted closed to 1.5 miles. Finally I was able to get some movement (It felt like when you have a flat tire in the front which makes it tough to steer-I did not have a flat.) Once pulled over I had to turn the car off and on for around 15 minutes until I could move the steering wheel again. I brought it to the dealership yesterday, they could not duplicate the issue and there were no codes, so there was nothing they can do. There was a previous recall of a steering gear box r, my car was not effected because it was produced after the original recall according to the dealership. When both incidents occured there were no warnings, the wheel just locked itself. Not being able to steer without warning is a huge safety risk. I have joined Honda forums and others are complaining about the same issue.

- #11697418November 4, 2025ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, ENGINE, PARKING BRAKE
The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while attempting to use the remote start, the vehicle failed to start. The vehicle had to be started manually, and once started, the parking brake, air bags, check engine, TPMS, and the Service Vehicle warning lights were illuminated. The failure was intermittent; however, the warning lights occasionally illuminated while driving at various speeds or while idling. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic, who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.

The above would not let me check ALL of the boxes. I’m having continued problems with my 2022 Honda CRV Hybrid Touring, with every warning light on the car all of a sudden starts flashing and eventually the car looses complete power. This is the third time it has happened to me, and after taking it to two different Honda dealerships, no one can tell me what is going on, and then they send me back out on the road, only for it to happen again. Every warning light on the car lights up and every bell goes off. Yet, no one can tell me a thing! It’s resulted in me being stranded and the car inoperable.

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to sincerely request your understanding and support regarding my vehicle repair. My car to Union Park Honda for the fuel pump recall repair, which was completed under the recall service. However, shortly after that, I was informed that my vehicle now has a head gasket problem, which requires a very expensive repair. Unfortunately, I am currently facing a very difficult financial situation, and it is not possible for me to cover this cost at the moment. This situation has been emotionally and financially challenging for me. I truly appreciate Honda’s care and commitment to its customers, and I am humbly requesting if there is any way the dealership could provide some financial assistance, any special consideration to help me with this repair. Your compassion and understanding would mean a lot to me. Thank you very much for your time and support. Steering wheel became sticky rather than smooth in hot weather. It did this in the afternoon when it was hot outside. The car wouldn’t just continue to drive straight. I was constantly having to slightly turn the steering wheel to keep going straight. When I turned the wheel it would stick rather than just turn smoothly. Very unstable and constant every day. I paid over $2,000 for repair. Mechanic told me he had done this repair on so many CRV’s that Honda should issue a recall on the problem. I didn’t know about reporting this to NTSB until today.

Due to a faulty 1.5 engine, the head gasket prematurely failed which could have led to serious engine failure while driving, and an accident could have occurred, if the car had suddenly stopped while being driven. There were several warning lamps, but the warning lamps on this car sometimes go off for no reason and the car was not overheating. I assumed the car was just acting up again. When I let the car sit for a couple of days and the warning lamps were still on, I took the care to a service center where they diagnosed the problem. Honda is aware of the faulty 1.5 engine, but have not issued a recall. Replacement of the head gasket will be over $4,000.

- #11697292November 3, 2025POWER TRAIN, SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Driver of the vehicle was traveling about 50 miles per hour, Multiple warning notices appeared on the dashboard ranging from Vehicle Stability Assist System Problem, Collision Mitigation Braking System problem, All Wheel Drive System Problem, Electronic Power Steering Problem, Electric Parking Brake System Problem, Brake System Problem, etc., approximately 16 error messages. The front end wobbled, Brakes were mushy, Steering was difficult as if the power steering ceased working. Was able to safely pull off the road. Vehicle was towed to dealer for diagnosis and repair. Dealer pulled codes from the ODB port and it displayed multiple warnings. See attached list of codes from the Dealer Dealer checked multiple systems but was unable to diagnose the cause. Dealer re-set the codes and sent the car home. This could have been a significant safety issue if the event had occurred under different circumstances. Request investigation into Honda to determine if this issue has occurred elsewhere, determined a root cause, and if the manufacturer needs to issue a recall for all affected vehicles.

- #11697233November 3, 2025FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
While driving on a straight road at 35 mph the car suddenly and aggressively applied the brakes without driver input and without another car or obstacle in front of the car. Had there been a car behind me a rear collision would have been likely. The weather was sunny and there were deep shadows of trees cast on the road. This is the fourth time this has happened the past year. This is my first report to NHTSA.

After stopping the car I shut off the engine while the gear/selector was still in D (Drive). The car began rolling forward since the driveway has a slope. My car hit the car parked before my car. The front bumper has been damaged. Later. I've checked several times this situation: If engine shuts off while selector is in D, the vehicle rolls instead of holding on a slope. This is a serious safety issue! Many driveways have slopes.

My car lost roughly half its power while traveling in heavy traffic on the interstate. The engine light in the lower left hand corner of the dash began blinking at the same time. I was able to get off the interstate whereupon I turned the car off and then restarted it. This cured the problem and it has not happened in the week since. No one has inspected the problem, but I have an appointment with the dealer on November 4, 2025.

While driving at 40 mph experienced sudden unexpected braking (car on its own) without driver pressing brake and no immediate car in front or changing lanes or any other noticeable object in immediate path. It was dangerous and could have caused a rear end collision. luckily it was 40mph no cars too close behind and our infants were not in the car. please look into this further

Driving down an in town road going approximately 35 mph with no cars within 5 car lengths front side and back when I hear three beeps and my car brakes hard on its own and then continues. It was scary and I pulled off the road to a parking lot to turn the car off and on. While today I didn’t have anyone tailgating me, this could have easily been a bad accident in town traffic. I plan to contact my dealer tomorrow to report and have safetysystem checked and adjusted. I see that others have experiences like this and online was advised to report this.

My 2021 Honda CRV (VIN# [XXX] ) is only four years old and the touchscreen no longer works properly. My main concern is that the backup camera (which displays on the touchscreen) will come on when backing up but then sometimes glitch out and not display anything while in the process of backing up. I should also mentioned that the only thing that even partially works sometimes is the backup camera, because all the other features are unusable as the touchscreen perma displays the Honda logo and that is it - except for when it displays the backup camera when backing up....but, again, even when it does display the backup cam on the touchscreen it will sometimes glitch out causing the touchscreen to no longer have the image of the backup camera while in the act of backing up. I brought the vehicle into Honda to inspect and try to repair, but they said it was not repairable and must be replaced. There were no fuse issues either, so it is the touch screen unit that is the problem. There are quite a lot of people online complaining about the touchscreen who own the 2021 Honda CRV, so I am asking that the NHTSA issue a recall for the touchscreen.
