On four separate occasions while driving anywhere from 35 to 55 mph the engine light begins to flash and I lose all power. I am given just enough time to pull to the side of the road. I turn off the engine, wait a few minutes, and turn the engine back on, which seems to remedy the problem. At that point, I am able to drive off like nothing happened. I am on a CRV forum and I’m seeing more and more people discuss the same issue! Because there’s no code that comes up, and I am not able to replicate the scenario at the mechanics… There is nothing that can be done. It’s quite scary to be going 55 miles an hour and have to pull over on the side of the freeway. One time there was not a shoulder of the road that I was on, luckily a gas station was just up ahead and I was able to pull in there to reset the engine.

The backup camera is in black and white and very washed out. It is very difficult to make out details and has caused several near misses. The issue is especially bad at night. The camera is essentially non-functional and represents a safety issue. This has been the case since purchasing the vehicle in 2024. The Honda CRV 2024 was not included in the recent recall for backup camera issues on other Honda models. The dealership knows it is an issue yet continues to tell me they have no solution.

Washer for windshield does not clean windshield. Had to pull of highway to manually clean windshield so I could continue to drive. HONDA of Denton told me that washer is normal. New style for CRV.

At 112,000 miles, the engine in my 2024 Honda CR-V Sport Hybrid (2.0L Atkinson-cycle engine) suffered a catastrophic head gasket failure, causing severe coolant intrusion into the cylinders. All scheduled maintenance intervals in the owner's manual were followed and documented. The dealer and corporate (Case #16444920) have refused assistance. This is a widely documented mechanical defect where constant thermal cycling (the gas engine repeatedly turning on and off during hybrid operation) stretches the factory head bolts and destroys the gasket seal. This defect can lead to unexpected, total engine failure while driving at highway speeds, posing a severe safety risk to the occupants.

For several months now, car has been misfiring, skipping and going into limp mode. Spark plugs replaced and issue went away for about 2 months. Issue has resurfaced and took it to Honda dealership where I purchased vehicle to run a diagnostic test. Informed to resolve the issue need fuel injectors replacement, spark plug replacements, coolant reservoir is empty and to top it off, need a head gasket kit.

The contact owns a 2017 Honda CR-V. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The driver was able to pull over safely. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle went into LIMP Mode after a while. The contact was able to continue driving. The vehicle failed to exceed 40 MPH while driving. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and determined that the head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and opened a case, but no additional assistance was provided. The manufacturer suggested that the contact call for assistance prior to repairing the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.

Multiple times when stopped at a stop light, the vehicle will stall and die. Car requires restarting ignition to run. A mechanic believes it is the fuel injector system (either defective or worn) that is causing these stall issues. This is a safety problem as I was almost hit several times by other cars on the road.

Please be advise that the 2021 model year of the Honda CR-V needs to be added to NHTSA Recall # - 24V-744. I am experiencing the "notchy" steering wheel problem described however this model year is currently NOT included in the Recall. It currently only covers years 2023-25. Please consider adding the 2021 year to this recall.

On July 15 around 7:15 AM in the morning I was driving on my way to work at a highway speed of about 55mph and all of a sudden I just heard almost like an explosion or something had hit the vehicle and I saw something flying off the roof. The vehicle has the sunroof and so I decided to pull over and I checked the vehicle and sure enough the sunroof seemed to randomly shatter. nothing had hit the vehicle, there were no other vehicles near me. I don’t recall having vehicle being hit by anything anytime recently. The last two days we had extremely high temperatures and I did use the AC at low temperatures and wondered if the change of temperature may have played a role. I purchased the vehicle on February 7, 2026. I got really scared that that if the sunroof had been uncovere, that glass could have shattered and hurt me or could have hurt someone else. I had the car towed and had it repaired and they told me that there was no warranty to repair the vehicle so I had to pay out-of-pocket.

2023 CR-V Sport Hybrid suffered a catastrophic cylinder 3 coolant leak/head gasket failure at 76,884 miles. Due to a lack of available Honda gasket kits and extreme dealership repair quotes, a full engine replacement was required.

I am constantly having my ability to see interrupted by oncoming cars with 3000+ lumen white light bulbs both on the freeway and highway. I have to hold my hand between me and them to prevent the view of my field from being obscured. I also have to aim my rear view mirrors up or at the ground if an especially bright car is behind me, even if its almost a mile behind me. I do not have bad night vision or any eye abnormalities, thousands of people are complaining about this. These headlights do not improve safety, these sort of things should be required to turn off whenever another driver is in front of you. furthermore, when a car is in front of you then that car's headlights are illuminating things far ahead, you dont need your own headlights to go that far.

The contact owns a 2018 Honda CR-V. While the contact's daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed, the accelerator was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to accelerate as intended. The contact stated that several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was driven to the shoulder of the roadway. The contact's daughter attempted to start the vehicle, and the vehicle started. The contact stated that the vehicle was running abnormally rough. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where it was diagnosed with an inoperable head gasket. The contact was informed that the head gasket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was advised to take the vehicle to the dealer for assistance. The dealer was not made aware of the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 115,000.

My vehicle was taken into Automaster Honda, the dealership where I purchased it, on June 11, 2026, for the yearly required VT safety inspection and other minor service. I was told that due to rust holes near the REAR TRAILING ARMS my vehicle would not pass a safety inspection. Publicly available information indicates that this condition can potentially cause a loss of control of the vehicle, and thus a crash, and presumably, potential loss of life!! There is no recall for this issue in this model year Honda, there is no fix, (even though there was a recall on 2007-2011 model year Hondas for the same issue) and my dealership is not able to recommend anyone who might be able to fix this problem. They can't fix it. According to the service manager at Automaster, Honda Canada has reportedly been issued a bulletin indicating that this 'problem' is neither a safety or structural issue but no such bulletin has been issued for Honda U.S. He advised me that my vehicle is safe to drive; however, I still cannot get an inspection sticker, without which I could receive a citation, and I am still troubled each time I get in this car. I don't think I could sell this car even if I wanted to because of this issue. The only entity who has inspected my vehicle is the dealership. There were no warning lights or messages and last year, supposedly conducting the same inspection, there was no indication of this problem or I was not informed of one at that time. I am going in July 16 for a necessary brake job, something also recommended on June 11 when I was advised of the trailing arm issue. I can't drive around with worn brakes. Photos attached are from June 11, taken with a technician's cell phone. When I go in on July 16, I will view the damage myself and take my own pictures. On June 11, the vehicle had already been taken off the lift and I could not see the damage myself that day. Thank you.

My 2018 Honda CRV is experiencing steering problems it started a year ago and has gotten progressively worse. There has been no warning lights or messages. When turning the steering wheel it feel stiff, resistance and I hear creaking noise during the turn. I know on some 2017 and 2018 Honda CRV's there was a recall involving steering components. I called the Honda dealership and they said it wasn't part of the recall. I have been on multiple sites where people are complaining with the same issue. This is definitely a safety hazard and could be dangerous. I wanted to make sure this was documented because I know I am not the only one.

I have a 2017 Honda crv which has intermittent bucking type issues, if I accelerate during that time the check engine light will turn on and the car will stop, sometimes when I turn the car on it will shake a bit like it struggled to turn on, in these cases most warning lights will turn on but the car will drive. Battery has been checked and it giving good output, what else could it be. Every warning ligh turns on and the car does not let me go faster than 25mph. This happens 2x on a highway and this time while home in my drive way.

We were pulling into a parking space and were almost completely stopped. Suddenly the gas engine revved and we jumped the curb and crashed through the glass front of the restaurant we had ordered food from. as it lurched forward my wife was pressing on the brake yelling it won't stop! The engined revved without any pedal usage. The automatic braking system did not function. Called the dealer and of course they have never heard of such a thing. I talked with the dealer adn they recommended going ahead with the body repairs and then take it to a Honda dealer to run a diagnostic to see if any abnormalities show up. There were no warning signals at all. It happened so quickly. The car ended up going completely through the glass fron and when it stopped it had hit the cashier counter and was completely inside the restuarant. We are so thankful there were no patrons eating in the restaurant at the time.

I’ve been informed that my vehicle needs a new head gasket at 89,000 miles. Upon research this is a very common issue with this year Honda CRV. It requires a $4500 repair, which for a Honda with less than 100,000 miles is unacceptable. I asked what preventative maintenance should I have done to prevent this and I was told there was absolutely nothing we could’ve done. We contacted Honda and after two weeks we were told that they were not going to provide any assistance.

The steering started glitching in December 2025. The steering became increasingly difficult and did not respond normally, causing concern that I could lose the ability to control the vehicle. Because steering is essential to maintaining control of a vehicle, I believe this failure created a serious risk of a crash, injury or death. The problem has been inspected and confirmed by Walsh Honda in Macon, Georgia. There were not warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem before December 2025. My car is still at Walsh Honda awaiting repair. The costs is $5,195. The car only has 43,000 miles on it.

I was exiting the freeway driving south about 110-115pm in [XXX] when suddenly my car seemed to stall or stop and brake orange light came on. It all happened very quickly and without any warning. The nearest vehicle ahead of me was very far away, at the stop turning left and I was entering the exit. Initially I thought the engine cut out but it didn't it was that the car had braked. It was very jarring and thankful no one was tailgaiting me because it could have caused an accident. I don't believe the car came to a complete stop but it reduced speed considerably. Later that day I went to an auto shop to use their digital check to see if there were any error codes etc. Nothing came up as flagged. I started noticing my steering being sticky and jerky around May 1, 2026. The problem has become more severe (especially when making a large turning circle on interstate highway) so I took my vehicle to Jay Wolfe Honda on July 6, 2026. They identified the problem as a failed EPS Gear box assembly. Part 53620-TLA-A13. They replaced it at a parts cost of $4030.32 and labor $1050. Also did alignment for $149.95 I became concerned that I might lose control of the vehicle. I inquired and found Honda had an issue with the 2018 CRV and did a recall for this part, however, they said my vehicle wasn't included. I think Honda should compensate me for this repair. The vehicle only has 82000 miles on it. I have the invoice they but I am not savy enough to upload with this form, I can provide to an email address if you provide one
