The car is by hard shifting. The dealership found, “THE TRANS TO HAVE A SHUDDER AND DEBRIS IN THE TRANS FLUID INDICATING TORQUE CONVERTER FAILURE RECOMMEND REPLACING TRANS DUE TO TORQUE CONVERTER FAILURE SENDING DEBRIS THROUGH THE PUMP AND VALVE BODY.” The first time we brought the vehicle into the dealership they just replaced the fluid and didn’t inspect for failures. The dealership now did and if the torque converter fails the car won’t drive, if I’m on the freeway that could cause a crash or worse.

I started the 2021 Yukon Denali this morning and there was a slight squeaking noise coming from the front of the car. I began driving and the noise went away. I parked the car and completed an errand. I then started the car to return home and on the way it started making the noise but much louder. I pulled over and the car died and refused to start. GMC Roadside Assistance sent two different tow truck that were not able to tow the car. Tow Truck #1 - Flatbed truck. Car did not go in to neutral because it couldn't start so the driver said that he was unable to pull it up onto the flatbed. Tow Truck #2 - Tow truck w/ Dolly wheels. Driver said it was too heavy for his Dolly to tow the Denali. GMC Roadside Assistance then said that they're two trucks were unable to pickup the Denali and that I was on my own to call and get a tow truck and they would reimburse me. I am on the side of the road all morning not knowing what tow truck company nor what type of tow truck to ask for...... Denali still does not start and am now awaiting a local tow company to make the pickup. GMC Roadside Assistance was a total failure.

While driving down the interstate the vehicle lost power without warning and gave a command to "press start to resume" tried to do that but nothing happened. Eventually we were able to get over to the shoulder of the interstate which was super busy in Atlanta. Once we stopped, we shut off the vehicle and it started back up, and we proceeded to get back on the interstate, when the same thing happened. We stopped again, waiting a few minutes and were able to get back on the interstate and complete out trip without any issues. 3 days later while driving on the interstate again, the vehicle had a weird winding noise coming from it. Once I was able to get off the instate the engine was knocking very loudly and had no power. Got the vehicle to our home and had it towed to the dealership the next day. Dealership gave the diagnoses that a new engine, radiator and engine coolant lines needed to be replaced. The vehicle had 2,248 miles on it and was purchase 2.5 weeks prior. No eta on when we will have a new engine and our vehicle back.

-3800 Miles on GMC Yukon/Engine Failure -Driving vehicle down highway and it just quit, would not turn over engine made a clunky rattle noise and nothing, no warning no lights nothing. Definitely a Safety issue as no way to get it off the road! -Dealer took engine apart and said Valve broke off and put a hole in cylinder and ruined the engine block, says we need a new engine, can't get one from GM for estimated 7 Months!!

I would like to express my frustration and concern regarding a serious issue with our brand-new 2025 Yukon Denali truck. The vehicle, which has only 934 miles, has experienced a transmission failure. We picked the vehicle up on [XXX] and since February 27th, it has been at the dealership for repairs—now more than a full month. Initially, the torque converter was replaced, but that did not resolve the issue. After only a mile or two of driving, we returned the truck back to the dealer for further evaluation. Subsequently, after consulting with technical assistance, the dealership confirmed that the valve body needs replacement. As I'm sure you're well aware, this part is backordered nationwide, adding significant delays to an already troubling situation. It is hard to comprehend how a brand-new truck can fail virtually right off the assembly line. I am disappointed that we have had to deal with such a significant defect and even more disheartened by the extensive wait for repairs. This experience has left us questioning the safety and reliability of our vehicle. Given the circumstances, I believe more should be done to resolve this matter quickly and effectively for us. GM has been well aware of this transmission for years. The most recent recall dated December 13, 2024 for the same issue on the 2021 – 2022 model years of most of GM’s product line suggest this problem has not only been a known issue for many years but with the failure of my new vehicle for the same issue proves that they have not done anything about it. This leads me to believe that my safety is just as at risk as anybody else in the earlier named recall and therefore this recall should be extended to include all current models. GM should be forced to resolve this issue for existing vehicles before they build any new defective vehicles and sell them to unsuspecting customers like myself. Thank you for hearing me out, I look forward to your guidance. Jason FYI there is an interesting article o INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORM

My engine blew up while merging onto the interstate. The vehicle completely shut down. A few minutes prior I could tell there was an issue but until that moment there were no warning lights or issues that could be detected. Vehicle has been at the GMC dealership almost a month waiting for a new engine that is currently on back order

Was driving normal down interstate. Interstate has two barrie walls making it a two lane road with no shoulders. Car was almost rear ended 3 times while it was stopped in middle of interstate. Me, my husband, my [XXX] , [XXX] and [XXX] were all in the car. I had to jump out the car while it was still rolling to make sure my children made it to safety before someone didn’t see us and hit us at 70mph. We had to cross the road and jump over a barrier in the construction zone. It took our high way patrol 35 mins just to show up and shut the road down to get the vehicle moved. According to the GM mechanic, a rod went through the block causing a hole. There was no warning of this happening, the car made noise and the vehicle automatically said low oil pressure, shut vehicle off, then an instant pop and smoked everywhere. The motor is on back order and won’t be able to be replaced for over 6 months if that. We had just purchased the vehicle and the motor was blown not even 3 hours after owning it. On multiple occasions, more recently 03/28/2025, the windshield wipers would stop working. On 3/28/25 in pouring rain at night the front windshield wipers were working and then stopped. The rear window continued to work. I finally found somewhere to safely pull over and check fuses for front and back wipers. They were both good and I even swapped the fuses for front and back and the back wipers continued to work while the front would not. This continued on our our trip in rain and even the next morning the front wipers would not come on. An hour later driving (with the wiper switch in the OFF position) the front wipers came on. I switched the switch to on and they were functioning. This has happed several time in the 6 months of new ownership with the dealership denying they have ever heard of such a problem. As we arrived to our destination and telling the story to the other families we were meeting another family there said they just had the same exact problem on their 2024 Yukon denali on the trip too. This put 2 families in a very dangerous situation. As I google this problem there are multiple reviews of individuals with this same problem.

New Denali less then 1 year old had lifter problems and needed lifters replaced and a camshaft. Started knocking while driving on the highway and tough to travel 4 lanes to get off the road. This is a serious issue.Very concerned because of widespread problems. I hope NHTSA does the same thing they did with Kia regarding the 2.o turbo engines. My last car was a Sorento 2.o turbo with defective engine. Kia agreed to a lifetime warranty for that failure. Luckily they did because mine failed and they replaced the engine. Once replaced I bought the Yukon. Bame similar issue. I hope a settlement included lifetime warranty. The valves, the pistons had to be replaced. The motor went out. The motor should be replaced but they did not give me that option. The vehicle only has 50K on it. Was kept in the garage. Had regular maintenance. The GM service garage has had this vehicle since 2-11-25.

Had unexpected loss of engine power, rough idle and warning lights. Has been out of service in the GMC dealer for almost 6 weeks to date. No diagnosis. No repair date. No response from GM other than "waiting on diagnosis" No loaner or rental provided. Still under warranty. 6.2 v8. Engine failure suspected. I am reporting this to help switch the investigation to an actual recall of the wide-spread issue with this engine. No documentation written information provided by GM.

Driving 75 mph on [XXX]. No power under gas pedal. Transmission shifted on its own to neutral and there were no lights warning on the dash. Yes my safety and that of 3 children ([XXX, XXX, and [XXX] ) as well as my mother [XXX] ) and my wife [XXX] ) were all put at risk. I had no way to accelerate or warning from the vehicle that the engine had failed. It just so happened my wife noticed it was in neutral and luckily I had room to get from the left lane to the shoulder where the speed limit is 75 mph. Dash information center said "Press start to restart vehicle". I pulled off safely to the shoulder with 7 passengers (including myself). Tried to restart the car but it was no working. The vehicle wouldn't shut off the electrical accessories either and kept repeating the same warning. The vehicle was inspected at the dealer after it was towed. There were no warning lights or signs of any issues prior to this incident. Had the vehicle for less than 2 years and under 19k miles. GM towed the vehicle to the dealership who held it for the weekend and then Monday afternoon told me the engine was blown. I was not offered a comparable vehicle under their warranty to replace it and was told I need to wait an unknown amount of time to get the vehicle back on the road as all engines are on back order.
