While I was driving on the interstate I was needing to shift into 5th gear, but it wouldn’t take the shift. I had to drive in the lower gears and it caused backup because I was on a toll road but couldn’t pick up speed. When I got to my destination, I realized I no longer had reverse. Mechanic says the transmission needs to be replaced bc it’s too expensive and difficult to fix, but we can’t find a transmission to fix it. He said he got it to go into 5th and reverse, but they don’t work.

Hello. While traveling in the right lane on the Interstate (I-43) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, heading southbound with a semi-truck in the center lane, the rear of my vehicle seemed to Lift/Rise off the ground and move (as if the rear of my auto was floating) to the right. I was at the point of being between at the semi-trucks front right tire and his bumper. I was involved in an accident with said semi-truck, thinking he was changing lanes from center lane to right lane and bumped my Left-Rear-Quarter-Panel. After much though and calming down, it seems as if my auto was pushed or lifted in a hydro plane effect by the air between my auto and the semi-truck. The day was clear and dry out around 10:45 AM, on July 15th. 2021. My question is: How many of these Ford Fiesta cars (with manual transmission) have had some type of highway collision with a semi-truck? Or, an unexplained loss (effect) of control while driving on the Interstate. Yes, a rear kind of Hydro-Plane affect with air pressure. Did I really have this happen to me while driving this car, I believe so.

The car suddenly couldn't move in reverse gear or any other forward gear except 1st gear. It is definitely very risky especially if you were on the highway, car cannot move faster than 10 mph. The check engine light was also on. Dealer said it needs a TCM replacement but the parts can take months to get. It is supposed to be a very well-known issue as ford covers this under the TCM extended warranty. Now I'm left in nowhere, stuck at home without a car and Ford doesn't provide any resolution for me to commute or move around.

While my 16 yr old twin sons were driving on freeway, a loud pop of pressure release from motor occured, and steam blew out from under hood obscurring their visibilty. they were able to pull over safely and call me. Upon arrival, after confirming they were ok, I checked under hood to see that the intake manifold had built up to much pressure for the PCV hose and the recirculating hose that connects to top of valve cover. Oil had sprayed out everywhere and car will not start. Ive lost compression in 2 cylinders now from the fast overheat. My childrens safety was severily compromised by this chain reaction of a failed PCV valve. Ive since found out of recalls. This is whats stated for my 2015 Ford Focus, but happened to my 2012 Ford Fiesta Oct 22,2018 Manufacturer Recall Number18S32 NHTSA Recall Number18V735 Recall StatusRecall Incomplete Summary ON YOUR VEHICLE, THE PCM SOFTWARE MAY NOT ADEQUATELY DETECT A STUCK-OPEN CANISTER PURGE VALVE (CPV) WITHIN THE FUEL VAPOR SYSTEM. I now have 2 auto loans im upside down on for recalls that I cant even get my car to Ford because I cant afford the tow. I pay over $500 monthly for lemons.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving 50 mph and coming to a stop, she heard an abnormal sound and the vehicle started shuddering and inadvertently stalled. The "Transmission Failure" message appeared on the instrument panel along with several other unknown warning lights. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the transmission had failed, and the failure was related to NHTSA Campaign Number: 20V331000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). The contact stated the failure reoccurred while driving and the vehicle was taken to the dealer who informed the contact that the parts for the recall repair were not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and a case was opened. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 105,000. Parts distribution disconnect.

The issue is with the transmission and has been ongoing since we purchased the car in 2013. The transmission stops working without warning. We have had multiple repairs performed only to have issues reappear. Ford has been found guilty of knowing the issues existed before they started selling the cars and sold them anyway. https://www.caranddriver.com/news/a30689585/ford-settlement-transmission-lawsuit/ I think the Ford Focus and Fiesta with the problematic transmissions need to be pulled from the road. A car just stopping is a danger to the driver and to others. Safety Concern This past Saturday night the car stopped in a dangerous and busy 4 lane, 6 lanes when you include turn lanes, intersection while my daughter was driving the car and that is last straw for me. The intersection her car stopped moving forward has had at least 3-4 deaths because the intersection is so dangerous. What happened was she pulled out to go left after the traffic light turned green and less than halfway through the car engine kept going but the transmission had no power - simply wasn't functioning. She was able to coast the rest of the way across this 4-6 lane intersection, with an island in the middle, and fortunately made it to the shoulder of the road safely. She shut off the car, waited a few minutes, restarted the car, and she was able to limp about 1/4 up the road to a parking lot. At that point she waited about 15 minutes and restarted the car. The car now would not back up at all in reverse. I met with her and while the car would sort of move forward, it would not move in reverse at all. Please contact me with questions. The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated that the front passenger’s side axle exhibited a loud noise while driving at various speeds. The contact stated that the front passenger’s side axle was replaced three times however, the repair failed to fix the failure. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer and the front axle was replaced. The dealer informed the contact that the aftermarket part on the vehicle was causing the passenger’s side front axle failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.

Clutch pedal intermittently depresses but does not return to raised position. Clutch pedal can manually be returned to standard position but is then sometimes “sticky” after being depressed. Vehicle is a 2014 with less than 60,000 miles and is the 4th vehicle with a standard transmission I have owned. After reading on forums for this vehicle it appears that many people are having this exact same issue with the car and I suspect that it is a design defect.

CAR DISPLAYED LOW COOLANT ON DISPLAY. ADDED COOLANT AND COOLANT LIGHT WENT AWAY. A FEW DAYS LATER, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR COULD NOT DRIVE FASTER THAN 20 MPH. TOOK TO THE FORD DEALERSHIP AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE COOLING SYSTEM HAD OVERHEATED AND CAUSED THE OIL TO END UP IN THE CYLINDER. THE COOLING SYSTEM OVERHEATED 1.5 YEARS AGO AND HAD THE THERMOSTAT REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. NOW VEHICLE HAS 71,000 MILES AND OUT OF WARRANTY. FORD DEALER SAYS THAT THE WHOLE ENGINE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT HAS 1.0L ECOBOOST ENGINE WHICH APPARENTLY HAS MANY ISSUES.

As I was driving on the highway, my car lost power as if it wasn't in gear anymore. Fortunately, I was in a side lane and was able to coast to the side of the road safely; I doubt I would be as lucky if I was in a middle lane. That being said, the side of the road is still dangerous. Shifting the gear selector did nothing to give me power. I put the vehicle in park and turned it off. I waited a few seconds and tried to turn it back on. It wouldn't start. I tried several more times. I then waited a few minutes and tried to start it again, this time with the car starting. I was able to get to work and drive without any issues. After work, however, my car failed to start and had to be towed. There were zero warning lights or messages displayed during this event.

The CAR has the defect that it skips the transmission changes, from the first to the second it stays accelerated, it resists the change, it is a danger it stays accelerated until it finally goes to second and lowers the revolutions. I visited an auto parts store for a scanner and that was the code: Transmission friction PO7A3x2. Here I send you some news, ford, ford defects on your focus and fiesta vehicles. http://www.fordtransmissionproblems.com/fords-transmission-problem Ford's PowerShift dual-clutch transmission was used in 2010. Affected vehicles are the Ford Fiesta (model years 2011-2016) and Ford Focus (model years 2012-2016) equipped with a PowerShift transmission. The PowerShift transmission is basically a manual transmission electronically controlled by a computer while using a 'dry clutch' rather than a 'wet clutch', which means that no oil is supplied to the shift mechanism and can result in increased wear to as problems persist. When the computer module used to operate the transmission cannot handle rapid acceleration or gear changes, the vehicle sputters and creates an audible noise. The vehicle may also experience downshifting issues, which means the vehicle will stay in a higher gear despite deceleration and jerk will result. However, this is not just a matter of convenience or comfort. When accelerating quickly through an intersection, the delay can be dangerous as it prevents the vehicle from reaching the same speed as it would with an automatic transmission. When it comes to decelerating, the inability of the car to downshift properly can cause the vehicle to roll forward, even when the brakes are applied, posing a safety hazard in many circumstances. This is all a safety hazard

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fiesta. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that occasionally there was smoke coming from the engine compartment. The contact also stated that the vehicle would not restart. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with the battery needing to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired but the failure still occurred. The contact then towed the vehicle to another independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with nothing needing to be replaced. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

When entering the drivers side of my car I went to close the door and the door was not latching. This is the second time that this has happened and when I called Ford Chino Hills. They proceeded to tell me they were not fixing any recalls for at least 3 weeks and that was just to get looked at, and then they said that it could take another 2 weeks to get the part. They did not offer a rental or anything and it put me out of a car because how am I supposed to drive a car when the door doesn’t close. Like I said the first time this happened I had to leave my car with them over night and once again was left with no car.

There is a problem with certain module of the transmission, whenever you change/replace the battery, once you start the car again, it shows a system alert telling you " damaged transmission, immediate maintenance required". The car starts to act weird, it is not capable to switch gears and the transmission is not working properly overall. I've tried to approach the car dealer which is an official representative/branch of Ford and they are charging for the programming of the module whenever this happens( twice already). I strongly believe that we as a Ford owner shouldn't have to pay for something that is an error from the manufacturer.
