The contact applied additional pressure to the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the contact was informed that there was a slice in the vacuum pump and that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the failure was related to TSB: 13N02. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.

My brakes are hard to press sometimes hard to stop. Jerky and then hard then soft. I read brake booster master cylinder or hcu All Ford's mistakes. Still no recall. I'm outside of the extended warranty because I just bought this 3 months ago and it's over 10 years old only 115000 miles on it. If I die I'm having my family sue ford. Codes p2 195 and p2 197 are now showing after a week and a half of this problem. Taking it to ford Tuesday. Calling customer service Monday. Shame on ford

BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA
Driving home, I entered my neighborhood and stopped to check my mail; i put my vehicle in park retrieved my mail and began to reverse out of the parking space, doing so the monitor screen flickered then a message came on the screen saying contact manufacturer camera unavailable. I then proceeded to put the car in drive and the message disappeared and the camera came back online. As i entered my driveway i put my car in park then reverse again and things were normal. This morning as i was backing out of my driveway the camera went black as well as no warning alarm or notification that i was approaching an individual and a few kids walking somewhat directly behind me, nearly hitting them. The last incident of the back up camera not working was this morning when i was nearly hit by oncoming traffic in the parking garage as i was trying to pull into a parking space and correct my position. These recent incidents have definitely put both my safety and that of my family in considerable risk as well as children in the neighborhood and at school. About a week ago my brakes on my 2013 Ford Edge Limited became for hard to press. The pedal became stiff. I almost was unable to stop even though I was going extremely slow approaching an intersection that was very busy. I have looked up recalls on this issue with the same description and realize Ford had issued a recall on 2013 Ford Edges however only certain Vin numbers. However, surfing through multiple posts and forums I am finding 100's so far of people that are angry because Ford refused to own up to the fact the all these 2013 Ford Edges are having issues with the Brake Booster which is a major safety issue and should have no cut off period due to the importance of this defective part! I finally wad able to bring my car to the dealer due to the other mechanic's I brought it to are all getting an invalid read when they do the diagnostic test on the car. Now Ford Dealership Jarret Ford in Dade City said it will be $1389. 00 to fix my brake booster. This is highway robbery.

THE DRIVER DOOR LATCH ASSEMBLY WON'T ENGAGE WHEN YOU SHUT THE DOOR THE DOORV AJAR LIGHT STAYS ON AND YOU HAVE TO OPEN AND SHUT THE DOOR SEVERAL TIMES SLAMMING IT REAL HARD TO GET IT TO GO OUT YOU HAVE TO SPRAY WD-40 IN THE LATCH AND WORK IT TO GET THE DOOR TO LATCH.

ENGINE
Liquid was leaking below the 2013 Ford Edge engine in our garage. A reputable independent repair center checked it out and found it to be the water pump leaking; which is located inside the Ford Cyclone engine. The engine would need to be taken apart to replace the defective water pump. It was explained to me that driving the vehicle may cause water to mix into the oil causing even more problems. I checked with a local Ford service center and was told they only have one person who can do this type of job and it would be over a month before it could be done. I opted for the reputable independent repair center who could do it in a week. The vehicle has been driven only 60,663 miles and is well maintained. The repair was done [XXX] and the cost of the repair was approximately $2,000. A certified letter was sent to James Farley (CEO & President of Ford) on [XXX] asking for reimbursement of the $2,000 due to the defective water pump. Shortly after sending the letter, Ford customer service emailed and asked for more information. More information was sent and am still waiting for a response No warning lights came on, the part has been disposed of and not was not inspected by Ford, Police or insurance reps. The brakes just went to the floor causing the car hard to stop. This is my daugthers car with my two grandbabies in the car. She took it to a local Ford dealer and they stated that it just needed to be updated (computer update I guess). The car worked after that until today. She hit a bump in the road and the brakes went to the floor again when she tried to stop. She has no warning lights that appear. The dealer states that there is no recall for this issue. This is a saftey issue for everyone on the roads.

While stopping the brake pedal will sink all the way to the floor. Brake booster was replaced but the problem persisted. Master cylinder was replaced but problem is still there. The only thing that saved me from an accident was the emergency brake.
