Flash: PTU Motor Position Enhancements This bulletin involves updating the software in the Power Transfer Unit (PTU), Rear Driveline Module (RDM) and Drivetrain Control Module (DTCM). A customer with a KL vehicle may experience difficulty shifting out of 4 Wheel Low (4WL). A customer with a UF vehicle may experience All Wheel Drive (AWD) not operating correctly. On further inspection the Technician may find one or more of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs): ? C1494-92-PTU Fork Position - Performance or Incorrect Operation. ? C1499-92-RDM Motor Position - Performance or Incorrect Operation. ? C1496-92-PTU Motor Position - Performance or Incorrect Operation.

A small number of customers may experience a Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) illumination or one or more of the following conditions. Upon further investigation the technician may find the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) set in the PCM memory: 2015 UF Vehicles with (Sales Codes ED6, ED8) ? Improved vehicle acceleration. ? P0480 - Cooling Fan 1 Control Circuit/Open. ? P0456 - Evap System Small Leak. ? U0402 - Implausible Data Received From TCM. ? Engine Startup Flare and Idle Surge. ? P2172 - High Airflow/Vacuum Leak Detected. ? P1D73 - AGS Performance. ? U0140 - Lost Communication With Body Control Module. ? P0441 - Evap Purge System Performance. ?
