The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while the vehicle was in the driveway, the vehicle was shifted into park and the parking brake message was illuminated. The contact stated that after disconnecting his boat trailer from the vehicle, the vehicle accelerated across the street and stopped. Additionally, while driving on three occasions at undisclosed speeds, the throttle was sticking. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 3,800.

Vehicle began to lose power on the highway almost causing a collision due to the low speeds I had to travel. My vehicle was taken to a local Chevrolet Dealership and was told I had bad lifters and a bent rod. I was told this is a common issue with newer mold Chevrolet Silverado’s .

ENGINE, FUEL SYSTEM, DIESEL:FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
The contact owns 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the engine started misfiring and made an abnormal knocking sound. Additionally, the vehicle was shuddering. The check engine warning light was illuminated, and the message "Engine Power Reduced" was displayed. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road, where the contact scanned the vehicle with a vehicle scanner. The contact retrieved diagnostic trouble code indicating an open circuit on the seventh fuel injector. The contact purchased the part from an unknown dealer and replaced the fuel injector connector harness; however, the failure recurred several times while driving. The contact replaced the connector harness of the second and fourth fuel injectors; however, the failure persisted. The contact was in the process of replacing the connector harness of the eighth fuel injector. The vehicle was not repaired. An unknown dealer was notified of the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.

POWER TRAIN
On [XXX], my Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Custom, Trail Boss 7,500 miles lost immediate power during driving operations. I was accelerating from a stop and my truck immediately lost power and my RPMs rose drastically without any power to my wheels. In an instant, the truck surged in power and continued to loose it while in traffic. I had to control the vehicle by slowing down. The check engine light appeared and warning messages to reduce acceleration and drive carefully. All of this occurred violently and without any warning. The truck reduced speed on its own and allowed me to drive 35 mph for two miles into the dealership which happened to be close. There is an extreme risk here for anyone who is driving at interstate speeds and this were to happen. After experiencing this incident, I was told the transmission or the transmission valve body required to be replaced by the dealership. I researched this later and discovered an extensive list of year models with the same problem. I was told services bulletins have been issued on this issue, but this is a serious risk to loss of life. I was told today Chevrolet doesn’t have a solution to the valve body problem and I would be without my vehicle until it is found and repaired. I am requesting a formal investigation. The fuel economy ump module is not working. The dealership said this is happening to all GMC models and it is a nation wide back order. Some dealerships have had vehicles sitting for 3+months and GMC will not do a recall. The expected fix date is “hopefully” February 2025

I just bought this truck in June of 2024. This was a bad dealer because he knowingly sold me the truck with severe frame damage and let me drive a dangerous truck off the lot. I cannot deem it as a total loss to have it replaced because it falls under “wear and tear”. I now have to pay for the truck for the next 5 years and don’t have the money to fix it because the quote states it will be around $13,000, which is how much he sold me the truck for. Because it is a 2010 the warranty has expired. I am completely frustrated and disappointed that there is no one to help me with this betrayal. I have read that many others who have bought GMC’s are and have had the same issues and GM refuses to recall the frames. Something needs to be done about this considering it is GM who did not apply any anti-rust or anti-corrosion to the frames on their vehicles.

STEERING
When I started my car there was an error message that said "Service Power Steering Drive with Care" and "Service ESC" when I went to back out of the driveway I had no power steering at all. I could barely move the wheel and had trouble pulling back into the driveway. I turned off the car and restarted a few times, but received the same error messages and had no power steering. When I started the car about an hour later all error messages went away and power steering was restored, but I am afraid to drive it.

As I was driving I received a call while my phone was plugged in to the USB charging port and as I answered the call all the gauges on my dash, as well as the radio and all my warning lights shut off and turned back on and calibrated as if I first started the vehicle and reset. Then the radio and things wouldn't work. I had to pull over shut off the truck and restart it. This has happened 2 times already in less than as year I contacted the dealer and they really don't seem to care and keep putting me off or telling me they will call me which never happens. As of writing this still not fixed.

Three weeks ago, I exited my running truck and saw that the left front driving light wasn't working. Turned the turn signal on and it would not function either. At first the rear light was blinking normally. Then after about a minute it began to flash rapidly and the display showed, check left front turn signal. Shut it off and unit worked after restart. Two weeks later, did the same thing. This time it did not reset until the next day. It seems to malfunction when the headlights are activated, and I noticed there is a unit mounted on the back of the headlight assembly that appears to control it and the headlights, as it is one unit. I recorded it on video, and when I took it to the dealer, they were able to confirm the issue. They are going to replace that assembly. After some research, I am discovering that this is beginning to look like a common issue as others that own 2022 model years and up report the same thing. My vehicle has only 12,600 miles on it, and I have found people with 2024 GMC trucks also experiencing it. This is concerning as it is a safety issue with nonfunctioning turn signals or running lights. As I stated before, the first time it happened there was no warning that the driving light wasn't working nor was there a warning the first time it happened that the front turn signal wasn't flashing for over one minute. Most times your signal isn't on for that period of time. Mine is warranted but some people said that without proof; the dealer can't duplicate the issue, so they aren't replacing it. Out of warranty the lighting unit costs about 1,500.00 and it isn't something an average individual can replace. GM also charges a 200.00 core charge on these. The service manager called it a restricted item. I would appreciate your looking into this to see how widespread this might be. I'm assuming it has something to do with the headlights being on and the heat generated by them causing the failure, but that is just a guess. It is a safety issue though

ABS kicks in constantly at low speeds in dry conditions. This causes longer stopping distances. The ABS grinds or vibrates interfering with normal braking situations. Many near miss collisions at low speeds. The manufacturer should be responsible and replace all the ABS sensors. I purchased this truck brand new in 2002.
