Truck is under 105000 miles and needs a transmission due to a failed torque converter. First starts with erratic speeds in cruise control mode that is unsafe then will not shift into overdrive causing overheating issues.

Driving down the interstate when the transmission automatically dropped from 8th gear down to 2nd, throwing a rod in the bottom half of the engine and shooting metal into the oil. Immediately locked up and broke down. Dealership says bottom half of engine failure due to mechanical failure.

Transmission jerking violently while driving at low RPM 1000-1500 RPM. Occurs daily. Shudder and vibration as vehicle is slowed approaching stops. Effect and feeling is unsettling to driver and passengers. Can be recreated but is also intermittent at times. Dealer has avoided fixing as it is not 100% consistent. Asking me to drive until failure which is unsafe and could lead to accident or stranding.

We bought a Chevrolet Silverado from 2023 as a new car in October 2024. It is an imported vehicle, as we live in Germany. After 7146km we broke down on the highway on [XXX] with engine damage. There were no signs or warnings beforehand. The Chevrolet simply stalled while driving and indicated that the start/stop button should be pressed. However, this had no effect. The whole vehicle came to a standstill. Not even the wheels were still rolling. A call to the seller (GeigerCars in Munich/Germany) immediately revealed that it was probably engine damage, as the problem is known. The vehicle was then towed to the seller's workshop and has now been there for over 5 weeks without spare parts, as according to the seller these are not supplied by GM. We have not yet received a rental car or anything similar and have to rent a car every week at our own expense. We have not received any help so far. A lawyer has already been called in. Vehicle transmission locked up. I see safety recalls for 2019 and newer but mine is not on the list. I’d like to get the GM 1-year/1500,000 mile warranty they have issued.

Tailgate opens by itself. This happened 3 times in 2 hours while the vehicle was parked. I tow a 5th-wheel trailer. If this happens when towing it can cause a catastrophe.

On [XXX] around [XXX], I was driving my Silverado down [XXX] near the Cottonwood Mall in Albuquerque, NM. Without warning, the engine died in the center lane of this busy highway. I turned on the emergency flashers, then while trying to call for emergency help on my phone, I stood behind the truck, waving traffic to the side lanes in an effort to prevent being rear ended. After about 10 minutes, luckily, an emergency fire department truck spotted my distress and doubled back, parked behind me and engaged his emergency lights. A good Samaritan stopped an attempted to toe strap me to the shoulder of the road. However, the poor design of this truck didn't allow me to put the transmission in neutral unless the vehicle is running. So, after about an hour, the tow truck driver was able to drag the Silverado on the back of his flatbed. After my truck was at the dealer for a week, they were able to determine that the engine main bearings seized and spun a couple of rod bearings. This is a well maintained vehicle, with the oil changes done on time and documented at the dealership. My Silverado has a 6.2 liter V 8.engine with only 21,532 miles on it. - #11654612April 14, 2025TIRES:TREAD/BELT, TIRES
Tire = LT275/65R20. After 20 minutes on surface streets in 98° weather, entered freeway and heard a "thumping" sound every second at about 45 mph. Appeared to be the freeway but after accelerating to about 55 mph a loud bang was heard and the tire blew. This was a catastrophic failure where the tread fully separated from the wheel and did substantial damage to the side and wheel well of the truck. The rim was also damaged beyond repair.

The key constantly gets stuck in the ignition after shutting off the vehicle. Some times have have to start the car multiple times and move the steering wheel to get the key to come out. Sometimes that doesn't work and I have to play with it for up to 3 minutes just trying to get the key out.

- #11654274April 12, 2025TRAILER HITCHES
A trailer hitch has an sticker stating the Tow Vehicle Maximum Trailer rating for the hitch. Owner's manual and towing safety stickers on the driver's side door only state the maximum dead weight for a hitch...that is the weight applied if a trailer is attached to the tow vehicle's hitch ball. This sticker give you maximum if a trailer is installed with a weight distribution hitch assembly. On my 2025 Silverado, as well on four other Silverados I viewed at a dealer, and a few GMC Sierras, also viewed at dealers, the sticker is applied; however, impossible to read the specifications supplied by the sticker. I have uploaded two files: One, is the sticker as viewed on a 2016 GMC that is attached to the bottom of the hitch, easy to read and obtain the SAFETY information contained. Second photo is how the sticker is attached to my 2025 Silverado (and as noted on all other vehicles I viewed at dealerships) and as you can see, the specifications are not readable. I even tried a mirror and not enough room for the mirror to fit and allow viewing of the stats. The information on this sticker is required to SAFELY pull a trailer with a weight distribution style hitch assembly. And to require a sticker, but not make as requirement it needs to be legible is ludicrous. Thanks

The transmission either shifts hard or momentarily locks up when downshifting and then shifting back up into high at 50+ mph. Check engine light comes on, tow haul mode is not available, engine rpm's increase dramatically. Transmission will begin shifting normally after a engine stop, but check engine light stays on, and tow haul mode is not available. Cycle continues. The hard shift before the check engine light comes on and transmission upper gears are locked out is very unnerving, especially with a travel trailer behind you at 65 mph. I no longer fell safe driving the vehicle. I am requesting assistance from the dealership on this truck with less than 49000 miles. The "flash for the transmission" recall was done several thousand miles ago. It only masks the situation. This is not acceptable, nor safe.
