I was stopped at a stop light and all of a sudden, the engine just revved amd revved and no drive only reverse, and it happened 4 times until tonight, 11/11/25 @ 8:38pm I am stuck at another red light and have to back my truck up to Home Depot and get a tow. Only a 5 year old truck with 71122 miles and ALWAYS WELL MAINTAINED WITH PAPERS AND GOES OUT ON ME. NOT ACCEPTABLE GM! You make things and used to be solid, like a rock trucks but now I feel robbed as a long time Chevy fan/enthusiast but I may have to change manufacturers unfortunately.

As I was driving the vehicle it seems to be hesitating or jerking and when I tried to start it,it would say put your foot on the brakes to start, but my foot was on the pedal and it was slow starting.Days later the engine light came on,took it to the dealership and they told me it was a problem with the brake system.I bought the vehicle brand new, only 41,000 miles,on it now, warranty went out in June of this year.I very rarely drives it and now they saying its a 4,000 job to get it fixed.

The Engine began to make a knocking noise at ~62000 miles on the odometer. I assume it was bearing failure. MURREY CHEVROLET GMC diagnosed the problem as catastrophic engine failure with the repair being a replacement of the engine. There were no warning lamps. This is a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado High Country with the 6.2L engine.

2018 6.2l engine dropped 3 lifters at just a little over 70k miles. Vehicle is my wife’s and almost caused her and my child to have an accident while traveling on highway at posted speed. Vehicle lost power that resulted from premature engine failure resulting in vehicle losing power to the brakes and steering while in heavy traffic. This directly affected my wife and immediately caused her to have a panic attack. Vehicle has always been maintained to the highest levels. This issue affects a substantial amount of these motors around the same mileage. Very bad and unsafe AFM design that is common among vehicles with this engine. Transmission is also experiencing studdering/vibration issues. Right now we have paid out over 5k for engine repairs. Transmission needs repaired and presents a constant safety risk to our family as well as others. GM needs to stand by their products as we consumers put our trust in these vehicles to be safe and to last more than a few miles. My wife and I both have to work and unfortunately we don’t have the extra funds to purchase another vehicle or to keep shelling money out to fix a basically new vehicle that we have babied. Please help us hold companies accountable for their failure to stand behind their products. Thank you for your time.

GM 6.2 engine recently tested for the national recall regarding valve and lifter issues. Recall was cleared as ok, but they found burnt cylinders in multiple areas within the engines. Several issues are still occurring with this engine, and I think most are related to the recall effort. 1. Engine will use oil at an abnormal pace when towing anything heavy. Recently used an additional 2 quarts of oil when towing a trailer that weighed 10, 000 pounds over 1600 miles. 2. Recently engine seemed to lose compression at a stop light and turned off. This happened an additional 5 times until I could get the truck off the road and into a safe place. The engine would immediately start and then die within 5-10 seconds. Towed to a Chevrolet dealership and the service manager tried to move it into the bay for diagnostic testing. started and stopped 4 additional times as they attempted to drive if 100 feet into the service bay. Towed to my hometown dealer that afternoon for diagnostics testing. The next morning when they started the truck it cranked fine and has been running since (7 days). No lights appeared on the dash during the breakdown or warnings appeared in their testing I have spoken to several other Chevrolet owners about the 6.2 engine issues and what was occurring with my truck They also had seen an increase in oil usage when towing heavy. I believe that your investigation needs to delve further into not only issues with the lifter / rods but also into other mechanical concerns that are oil dependent and related such as burnt cylinders. This last issue occurred on October 27, 2025.

My 2021 Chevy Silverado 3500 [XXX] Motor began requiring a quart of oil every 3-4 weeks. I took my vehicle to a GM dealer in October 2024 and the stated the couldn't find any issues. Fast forward to December 2024 my motor began reading low compression and saying stop the vehicle. I took the vehicle back and pressured them to find out whats wrong with the truck as I only have 76,000 miles and I have performed all of the necessary maintenance. I even have a Chevrolet Platinum protection plan for warranty coverage. I have gotten the run around for months and I have yet to get my vehicle repaired. After taking my truck to a certified 3rd party the verified that the lifters failed and the motor would likely need to be replaced or rebuilt. The mechanics reported this Information to the Chevrolet warranty company and the stated the refuse to provide and repairs unless I produce oil change receipts or return the vehicle back to a dealership and pay for the dealer to tear the motor down. PLEASE HELP ME!!! Im stuck paying $819 a month for a truck I haven't driven regularly since December 2024. Please please please help me Sincerely [XXX] General Motors [XXX] 2021 3500 hd wt 4x4 Case # 9-XXX [XXX] I have a 2021 chevy 3500 lt (dually) Been having issues with a rough idle so I figured to replace the plugs, coil packs and wires as my truck just hit 70,000 miles. After doing the full tune up nothing changed, so I scheduled an appointment with my local chevy dealership. They kept my truck for about a week and never completed the diagnosis. I picked the truck back up and took it to another chevy dealer and the told me after a week or so that I had lifter issues and the truck would probably need a new motor. The truck seemed a little sketchy from the gate in the first 50k miles it consumed oil like it was a ol 250k mile chevy.... the alternator went out at around 50k miles and the fuel efficiency would be 6-8 mpg at best..... Front end, yes it is available for inspection upon my request. My safety wasn’t very safe the truck felt like the front wheels and back wheels were going to come out from underneath me. Vehicle has been to many shops and I have fixed some parts myself because of prices to pay at shops. The vehicle had at least two lights on the dash about the ABS & STABILITY TRACK

Complaint Description On Tuesday October 28th, 2025 while driving to work, my 2024 Chevy Silverado LTZ suddenly went into limp mode during normal driving. The truck would not go into reverse at all. I had to use OnStar to call a tow from my residence because the vehicle was not safe or able to be operated. The truck has been at the Chevrolet dealership since that day and as of today (November 7th) it still has not been repaired. The service department confirmed it is a failed transmission valve body. Research shows this is a recurring and known issue on many GM trucks and GM does not appear to have a permanent fix yet. Component/System that failed: Transmission Valve Body failure. Component is currently located at the GM dealership and is available for inspection. Safety Risk: This failure caused sudden limp mode, loss of power, and inability to reverse while in active traffic. This put my safety and potentially other drivers at risk due to sudden unexpected deceleration and inability to maneuver safely. Problem Confirmed: Yes. Confirmed by GM dealership service technicians. Inspection: The vehicle is currently at the GM dealership. No manufacturer field rep, insurance, or police inspection has occurred yet. Warnings / Codes Present: The failure occurred without prior early signs that morning. When it failed, OnStar diagnostics reported: P2732: Transmission System — “Engine and Transmission System not performing as expected.” P0700: Transmission Control Module requested Malfunction Indicator Lamp illumination. Emissions related DTC set in the Transmission Control Module. Both codes triggered at the time limp mode activated. Best Assessment: This appears to be an ongoing recurring GM transmission valve body issue affecting newer GM trucks. The failure caused a sudden loss of drive capability and is a safety hazard that requires NHTSA investigation.

86K miles smelled gas. Dealer replaced one fuel injector on the 6 cylinder rail. At 108K miles, catastrophic engine failure caused by misfire in the #6 cylinder. No compression or diagnostic testing done at initial fuel injector replacement. It is now my understanding that it is good practice when replacing one fuel injector, all should be replaced. After truck was inoperable at 108K miles, ran a borescope into the 6 cylinder shaft and noticed massive wash and scoring. Goodwill from GM was denied for an engine swap. Subsequent diagnostic testing revealed low pressure in all cylinder heads. I don’t put a lot of miles on this truck per year and suspect the problem compounded over time without notice. There was gas mixture in the oil, however this issue was never brought to my attention during routine maintenance and oil changes. I know there were issues with the 6.2L and didn’t know of parallel or residual issues with the 5.3L. Long story short, I had to go with an engine swap on a truck with relatively low mileage.
