I was driving in rush hour traffic on a freeway in Houston when the engine lost power and stalled out (50 mph) without warning. I had to remain on the freeway while cars whizzed past me. Car finally started back up after 30 minutes of trying. Vehicle only has 8800 miles on it and acted like it had run out of gas as it sputtered before dying. Engine light came on and remained on after it finally started back up. All fluids in range and was at 1/2 tank of gas. In process of diagnostics.

FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: WARNINGS, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
I manage a fleet of 12 of these vehicles for a Veterans Affairs hospital. I have had numerous complaints from the drivers about how distracting and invasive these systems are for the drivers. The red dash lights are blinding, the audible alert scares someone who is not used to these things and are very distracting in a tense moment when you need to be reacting, you cannot because you are too distracted by these systems. I myself am a disabled veteran with PTSD, and this system sends triggers my PTDS to where I cannot operate the vehicle. Please design something less invasive for anyone with anxiety/ptsd/depression/epilepsy/light sensitivity. For someone with any of these conditions these vehicles are completely inoperable as soon as the red light glares back off the windshield.

The contact owns a 2021 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that the horn was intermittently inoperable while driving. The contact stated that the failure progressively worsened, causing the horn to become permanently inoperable. Additionally, the seat belt warning light was illuminated. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 55,000.

The contact's wife owns a 2024 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated that a strong, burnt rubber odor could be smelled while taking out the trash in the middle of the night. Soon after, the contact stated that the front passenger side window shattered as flames began to emit from the vehicle. The contact immediately rushed to move his other vehicle away from the burning vehicle while on the phone with the authorities. There were no occupants inside the vehicle at the time of the failure. The authorities arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. A fire report was filed; however, the contact never received a copy of the report. Police were also present at the scene of the fire but were not certain if a report was filed. Per the fire investigation, it was determined that the fire was caused by the driver-side seat warmer. No physical injuries were reported; however, both the contact and his wife suffered severe emotional distress. No property damage was reported. The vehicle was towed to an independent tow yard where it remained in their possession. The vehicle had yet to be labeled as destroyed by the contact's insurance company. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was 16,989.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
When purchase vehicle there was only 9,567 miles on it . I had the car for 1 year when lane changing warning and front camera went out. Also effected my car started. Dont know when it was first purchase and they say warranty is up. It could of been the end of 2024 but they say 1/2024.. Miles is under 36000 and the end of 2024 is 3year. My bill they stat is over 1500. I can afford it in this economy. And chevy should honor the bumper to bumper warranty. Im disappointed in Chevy, that there electronics go in less then 3 years. I hope that chevy for a large corporation will make this right. Two major complaints this Vechile #1 The current std operating control features are a flat out Safety Issue NO-ONE has taken into account the display of to name a few such as Fan-Speed Hi/Low, AC On/Off ,Heated Seat adjustment you cannot View while driving during daytime hours or late afternoon 1-2 hrs before dark But you can view 100% only when the Sun is directly behind you ( THEY DO NOT LITE UP UNTIL ITS NIGHT TIME & ONLY AT NIGHT) You might be laughing well zip it up ( WHY IT FORCES THE DRIVER TO TAKE THEIR EYES OFF THE ROAD) it’s not funny Gone is Std button or knob you can reach and adj .Trying do certain adjustments I find myself wandering off the highway onto Rumble strips searching for control of certain p.b. #2 This car while Traveling on [XXX] threw PA into Ohio with only 500+ miles we come up on quick stop Traffic back up ( TRYING TO QUICKLY TURN ON THE HAZARD WARNING SW —-NOT FOUND )2-days latter still have not found I should not have to be searching the I/Net or reading some now small portion of a new idea shortened version of a operators manual Basic functions we all should be able to Operate any Brand Vehicle Not this Car this [XXX] design Control Panel is a Ralph Nader example of how to Distract every driver behind the wheel. Also a lot of overall reviews many give this car great reviews But No One Takes Ease of Std Operator Functions into Account of any Safety Factor and I don’t trust you or any Government Agency will be telling GM this design of Std Control access eventually will cause many accidents . ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
Water leak flooding the rear passenger compartment floor and the rear spare tire well. The water appears to be entering at the rear pillars. On the left rear leak, it is entering the fuse panel. The right rear leaks by the power outlet. I fear this is going to cause corrosion and create problems in the future. I removed almost 2 gallons of water from the rear floor with a carpet extractor. I was able to pull a drain plug in the rear spare tire well to remove that water. The moisture in the vehicle condensates on the inside windshield, moon/sunroof and the rear back glass making it difficult to leave in an emergency without first wiping all the window down with a towel. FYI: I am the brother of the vehicle owner. She has stage 4 lung cancer and I am handling things for her.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, STRUCTURE:BODY
We have had this issue for going on two years. When we bought the car, we immediately started having problems. When we were driving the car, it would start popping in the steering column. We then started having rattles within the body, that are still going, to this day. We have had 4 radios put in due to electrical, still having the same Issues with it, TO THIS DAY. There is some kind of leak inside the body that is causing water to get into the doorframe and slosh around. Chevrolet is not wanting to take accountability and lemon this car, as we’ve had it in the shop right at 10 times for the same issues.

On 9/23/24 I was turning into a gas station going up a bit but of an incline and my car died, reduced engine power light came on as well as check engine light. Tried restart car and it would not start. Let vehicle sit for some time and it started and ran fine, the next day I took off it into the dealership and was told diagnostic indicates my fuel pump needs replaced, I replaced my fuel pump and the car ran fine until October 5, 2024 was driving down the highway at about 65mph when my vehicle lost power, I was able to pull off the road by coasting. Tried to start vehicle no power, engine power reduced light back on as well as check engine light. I was left stuck on the road waiting on a tow truck to take my vehicle back to the dealership that worked on it previously after contacting Chevy it was determined my fuel system failed and the part needed us on back order.

The contact owns a 2022 Chevrolet Equinox. The contact stated when the vehicle was started, the vehicle did not start as intended. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed fuel module. The vehicle was towed to the independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a failed fuel module. The contact was informed that the fuel module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact was informed that the parts were in back order and that it would take four months to receive the parts. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 24,000.

After I engage the right turn signal and complete a right turn, it occasionally bounces the turn signal back too hard and then the "soft" (not fully clicked in) and lights up my left signal about three times. This has happened multiple times since we leased it in early September.

Flat tire alert gone off 7 times, cameras have stopped working 5 times, climate control stopped working 4 times, nav system sd card shorted out, lane departure operating erratically 2 times tire alert, cameras and lane departure warning are safety features Car was in shop 5 times for 72 days and Chevy says they cannot replicate issue I have all documentation from the service visits.

Intermittently, when you start the car, the computer or infotainment system does not work properly. For example starting the car today, the backup camera worked normally until my phone connected. When my phone connected the grid showing me what direction I was going based off of the way the wheel was turned disappeared. No matter what I did I could not get the grid back. This is one of many examples. When this is occurring all functions are extremely slow. For example I got into the car this afternoon and didn't want to hear the radio so I hit mute, the button did nothing. Then I turn the volume down, again it did not go down. Then I hit the phone call button on the steering wheel and again nothing. This seems to consistently happen when you first start the car while on Android phone connects to Android Auto. After a few moments while I'm driving, I am startled because suddenly the volume mutes and then unmutes and then goes down and then goes back up... Basically everything I pressed several moments ago suddenly happens like it's been sitting in a queue indefinitely. When the car is like this, if somebody calls me on the phone the Bluetooth is very garbled or if I use the navigation that's in Android Auto, again everything's very garbled and time delayed. The problem seems to resolve itself sometime around 5 to 10 minutes after I start driving so it only happens when you first start the car and it does not happen every time. The fact that this affects just about every system and the time delay causes things to happen when you're trying to focus on driving makes this a very unsafe situation. I called two local dealers who basically said that they'd be happy to check it out but if there's nothing wrong that general motors will cover, then I have to pay for their time to even look at it. Since it doesn't happen every time, I'm not willing to do that but this is a serious safety concern. I search for similar problems on Google and there are many reported.

STEERING
Steering wheel vibrates and makes grinding noise when coming back from turn, it doesn't do it all the time but about every 15th turn. Taken it to the dealership 3 times and can't find anything wrong with it
