The low tire presure dash indicator indicated that the right rear tire was low (17 psi). The tire shop found that the inner flange of the wheel had cracked, resulting in a leak and a safety issue. The vehicle has only 18K miles and is not driven hard or raced. Could this be a safety recall issue?0

Shuddering occurs at speeds between 25-75 mph. GM has s TSB #18- NA-355. This bulletin accurately describes what I was experiencing. They know that there is a problem with their 8 speed automatic transmissions, but will not tell consumers about it. There should be a recall to fix all of the vehicles effected during the time of defective transmission fluid..

Purchased the vehicle with 7944 miles, currently has around 11,000. One of the tires was leaking air so had an auto repair shop look at all the tires and rims. THREE of the rims are cracked. I am not driving the vehicle for safety reasons. It is not safe to drive with a cracked rim. I did not hit any road hazards or pot holes. The rims appear to be defective and after 11,000 miles should not have damage.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible equipped with Michelin Tires, Tire Line: Pilot Super Sport ZR, Tire Size: P285/35/ZR20, DOT: (N/A). The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard an abnormal sound outside of the vehicle and the vehicle started to shake abnormally. No warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the tires were inspected and it was determined that the rear driver’s side inside tire sidewall was split, and all four tires were warped and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,000.

Transmission shuttering/noticeable vibration while cruising. Dealer replace transmission fluid and shuttering resolved. However, upon initial 1st and 2nd gear engagement on the first drive of the day, the transmission hesitates and aggressively lunges forward at a higher speed than anticipated. Not safe, normal or desirable. This is a known problem that the dealer knows about but what is the resolution/fix to the issue? No warning lights have been displayed.

I purchased this 2019 corvette grand sport on 3/6/2023. After I had driven it a little over 300 miles the tire statred to lose air (got a low air pressure warning). Filled it with air and got another warning again. Took the wheel off the car and inspected tire and rim. Found a weld repair had been done with another crack in the rim that look like someone tried to repair that crack. No I'm stuck without a car to drive.

I have 32,800 miles on my 2019 Corvette Grand Sport. Each year during my annual service, I have had to have wheels repaired that were bent. Today, during my regular service, both of my rear wheels were identified as cracked and must be replaced. Cracked wheels on the 2017 to 2019 Corvette Grand Sport and Z06 models is a significant safety issue and needs to be addressed by your organization. GM should be forced to replaced all of these poorly engineered wheels before someone is killed or injured in an accident when the wheels fail.

The vehicle was taken to the dealer where the contact was informed that the driver’s and passenger’s side rims needed to be replaced; however, the contact was referred to Rim Pros where the rear driver’s and passenger side rims were replaced; however, the failure recurred. The contact stated that after several days the tires started to deflate and the vehicle was taken back to Rim Pro where the rear driver’s and passenger’s side rims were replaced; however, the failure recurred. My corvette developed a cracked wheel. We took it to the Dealership that put new tires on a week ago because the low air alarm came on. They informed me the wheel was cracked and denied damaging it when putting on the new tires. “It just happens” was their claim. Now we learn there is a class action lawsuit because so many generation C7 Corvettes are suffering unexplainable wheel failures. GM is denying warranty claims and it’s costing the car owners thousands of dollars to replace wheels. The wheel I need is going to be $1200 and will likely be yet another OEM wheel prone to the same problem. Should this not be something in your agencies purview to investigate?

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while the vehicle was at the dealer for all four-tire replacement, the dealer informed him that all four rims were warped and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The VIN was unavailable.

My factory wheel cracked in two places while traveling to the Corvettes at Carlisle event. I have a little over 18000 miles on my car at this point. I have taken great care of my car and have not hit and rough potholes or obstacles in the road. I have not “tracked” my car either. I have read about many other Corvette Z06 and Grand Sport owners who have suffered the same cracked and bent rim issues with the stock GM supplied wheels. Apparently the wheels are faulty as reported by hundreds of dissatisfied owners. The cracked wheels fail to hold air pressure causing a safety situation while driving at highway speeds. I understand that there is a current class action lawsuit in progress. I feel that GM should stand by their product and replace these inferior wheels with safer, more sturdy ones..especially for the price we paid for the vehicle. At this point, the consumers need the NHTSA to help us with this situation as GM has refused to accept any responsibility at this point. They blame the consumer’s driving habits as a reason for the issue….not the obvious faulting manufacturing of the wheel. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to hearing your response. Sincerely, [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Vehicle : 2019 Grand Sport Corvette Here’s what happened On or about Oct 14, 2021 I was driving on a multi-lane highway in an 50 mph zone, when the following occurred: -brakes suddenly slammed full-on, then immediately released …e.g., on/off in 0.25 of a second -windshield-wipes made one swish across the windshield -dashboard switched over to night mode -hands-free phone button lights on steering wheel turned off and would not function -hands-free phone function on display screen would not function properly -false maintenance warnings appeared on dash-display e.g. have rear axle checked and have restraint system checked -I stopped the car and turned it off. When I restarted the car everything was normal again! Note: this car does NOT have any automated braking systems. GM Canada and the GM Dealership have been unable to determine the cause of the above incident nor duplicate in during road-tests.

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Corvette. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the low tire pressure warning light would illuminate on the instrument panel. The contact stated that she added air to the tires however, the low tire pressure warning light remained illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic where they diagnosed the cause of the failure as cracks in the rear passenger’s and driver’s side wheels. The manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 10,000.
