  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have an OnStar system that will not power up. Technician should turn off the ignition and cancel retained accessory power. After the vehicle has powered down, remove power to the OnStar module for five minutes. After the power has been removed for five minutes, if the OnStar system is working release the vehicle. If the OnStar system is still inoperative continue with published Service Information diagnostics.

Technician will need to use the EL-50334-6 Audio System Diagnostic CD to produce audio tones from tracks 11 and 12. Technician will now gain access to the rear self and locate any loose trim and repair. Dealer should communicate to the customer that we apologize for this inconvenience and that General Motors is working on a solution for this concern.

  This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician with a diagnostic tip on the proper installation of the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning module connectors after removal. Technician should connect the connectors in the proper sequence (J1, J3, and J4 can be installed in any order, but J2 (Brown Power Connector) must be last) to avoid motor relearn process. If the proper connection procedure was not followed previous to reinstallation of the Heater-Vent-Air Conditioning module connectors and it appears you have a stuck motor, perform the Actuator Calibration Procedure below.

  12265A - Service Update (revised warranty information). replace the radio control assembly on certain 2013 model year Cadillac ATS, SRX, and XTS vehicles. The radio volume increases to maximum level without input and the radio cannot be turned off. This condition may or may not occur on subsequent ignition cycles. Also, the heated and/or ventilated seat operation may turn on without input, and/or the outside buttons on the radio control assembly may not work. Dealers are to replace the radio control assembly.
