ENGINE
I am convinced that the defective cooling system for which there was a class action lawsuit against Audi that included the Q3 through year 2021 persists in the Audi Q3 year 2022. I purchased my Audi Q3 year 2022 in October 2021. Early in my ownership experience I reported to the Dealership that the coolant indicator light flashes on when driving on the highway, but it was explained away as a matter for which not to worry. So, I became accustomed to the indicator light flashing on until the message to turn off engine and check coolant level also appeared and I experienced the exorbitant out-of-pocket repair amount of $2,656.14 to replace the water pump and thermostat unit. The Defect: The plastic/thermoplastic water pump, thermostat housing, and integrated coolant modules are prone to cracking or leaking internally from thermal cycling, leading to coolant loss and potential engine overheating.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Description of Safety Failure:I am writing to report a recurring, premature safety failure of the fuel delivery system that poses an immediate risk of engine stalling at highway speeds. The original factory fuel pump failed at approximately 75,000 miles and required replacement. A brand-new replacement fuel pump has now failed prematurely just 30,000 miles later (at 114,000 total vehicle miles). This vehicle's specific failure pattern perfectly mirrors the structural vacuum, pressure regulation, and fuel pump failure modes explicitly detailed in active federal safety campaign NHTSA Recall 22V673000 (Audi Recall 20DS) regarding a damaged internal tank vent pipe. When running this vehicle's VIN through the NHTSA database, it currently states "0 Unrepaired Recalls." This indicates that my specific vehicle was excluded from the original manufacturing batch of 13,004 affected vehicles. However, given that multiple fuel pumps are being rapidly destroyed by localized fuel delivery pressure failure, it is clear that the scope of Campaign 22V673000 was drawn too narrowly by Volkswagen Group of America. I am requesting that the NHTSA review this complaint to investigate an expansion of the fuel tank recall to include this vehicle block before an unaddressed tank defect causes a catastrophic highway stall. This vehicle also had two EVSP leak detection pumps replaced 3 months after the first fuel pump of August 2025 which was November 2025. When asked about a recall the service manager and Audi Corporate says my vehicle has no recalls and does not even acknowledge that this issue could possibly be apart of the 13,000 vehicle made in 2021 and 2022, being that my vehicle is going through a fuel month every year or so. Why would three fuel pumps be installed in one vehicle in 4 years. Please help me in understanding this. They have replaced a total of 3 fuel pumps and they lied to say one when they had.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Dear Sir or Madam: I am submitting a safety complaint regarding my 2022 Audi Q3 involving water intrusion from the sunroof. At approximately 41,000 miles, approximately a month ago, water began leaking through the front edge of the sunroof despite the sunroof never being opened prior to the issue. The leak was not caused by clogged drains or lack of maintenance. Water entered through the overhead console, resulting in failure of the interior lighting system causing lights to flicker on/off and water dripping directly onto me, the driver, while operating the vehicle. These issues created a significant distraction and potential safety hazard, especially during night driving. The dealership diagnosed the issue and confirmed that the repair required modification of the sunroof assembly and track to correct a water intrusion problem. This was not a routine maintenance issue. The total cost of repair was $1,259.18, which I paid out-of-pocket. Additionally, the service advisor at the dealership stated that this is a frequent problem seen on Audi Q3 vehicles and expressed surprise that it has not already been subject to a recall. Given that this issue involves water intrusion affecting electrical components and actively interfering with safe vehicle operation, I believe this may represent a broader design or manufacturing defect impacting vehicle safety. I respectfully request that NHTSA review this issue for potential investigation and possible recall action. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
Vehicle was serviced in 2025 for an electrical issue impacting multiple electrical components of car. Approximately one year later the car is back in the shop for both an electrical issue causing lane departure and now lane keep assist to trigger an error. I was told by the local dealership that it is likely related to an electrical module underneath the bumper of the rear of the car. The dealer is franchise and does not share records with other Audi dealerships and therefore unable to evaluate the problem with the prior Audi dealer who identified and repaired the first issue impacting multiple sensors. I was told this current issue seems to be related to a component underneath the harness of the rear bumper, but may be impacting other electrical systems.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
The fuel pump is what the issues is with my 2022 Audi Q3 it has been replaced twice in three years of me having the vehicle the first time was in November 2022 a year after I got it came out of the store, and it would not start. The second time I was in a fast-food restaurant line, and it just cut off in line, so I had to try and get it started and out of the line before it cut off again got it tow into the dealership, and it was replaced again in November 2024.

BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
Two issues: The rear view camera is not reliable. It sometimes fails to engage or becomes covered up by another graphics layer such as the user authentication screen. In some cases it comes late or the steering angles lines are rendered very late or missing. Second, the forward ultrasound park assist chimes often do not chime. The audio is ducked under other audio sources such as Spotify. This is quite serious and has almost caused some issues. Yet, if the alternate audio source is stopped, the adas chimes immediately become audible without moving the vehicle further. This issue has been reported to Audi for 3 years and despite best efforts, they have never applied a software fix citing none available. No dealership offers no remedy or escalation since it's hard to reproduce on demand. I have videos available upon request.

LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
According to the owner’s manual, “Lane guidance provides corrective steering to assist the driver with keeping the vehicle in the center of the lane.” On delivery of the vehicle, I noticed that in highway conditions the system consistently steered the vehicle to hug the right side of the lane. I had to “fight” to keep the vehicle in the middle of the lane. Also, the Advanced Driver Assist Lane Guidance feature randomly shut itself off. I could switch it back on in the touch screen menu. Subsequently the Advanced Driver Assist Lane Guidance option completely disappeared from the menu. The only way to get the option to re-appear in the menu is to either reboot the Multi Media Interface or shut off and restart the vehicle. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Absolutely no warning when the Lane Guidance stops functioning and disappears from the menu. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? 1)The Lane Guidance does’t always work, allowing vehicle to leave the lane. (Note that when it DOES work the vehicle hugs the right side of the lane, distracting drivers in the adjacent lane.) 2)Attempts to get the system to work as designed causes a significant driver distraction. 3)Lane Guidance, promoted as a safety feature, is simply unreliable. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The vehicle manufacturer Audi of America (AoA) has offered suggestions to the dealer on how to repair the vehicle. Initially AoA told the dealer that the issue was caused by using a non-Audi charging cable in the USB port. The problem continued without anything plugged into the USB ports. Then on AoA’s recommendation, the dealer replaced a fiber optic cable. That did not fix the problem. No advice from the vehicle manufacturer is fixing the problem.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, BACK OVER PREVENTION: WARNINGS
Two items: 1. Infotainment review camera does not show in a timely fashion. There is an open recall for this but my vehicle is not listed in the campaign. It is unclear why not. The firmware is from march of 2021 for a feb 2022 q3 build. I wish they would fix this. 2. ADAS park assist chimes do NOT always chime when other audi sources are playing. In particular, with Android Auto attached and after a previous phone call ends, park assist chime audio is not played. The graphical indicators may show on the screen. Other audio sources are prioritized such as android audio route guidance, or streaming audio.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
My 2022 Audi Q3 was recalled for a safety recall related to a fuel tank internal vent pipe. I took my car to the dealer for the recall and after inspection I was told that my car did not exhibit the defect stated in the recall and did not need repair. Approximately 15 months later (total mileage 14962) the check engine light came on and after taking to the dealer for inspection I was told that the issue was with the fuel system but there was no repair currently available and that Audi was aware of the problem and would contact me. They deleted the code that would trigger the check engine light for this problem. Out of sight of of mind. If the initial recall was a safety issue and if the same or similar problem persists without subsequent recalls or repairs I am concerned for my safety and the safety of my family.

UNKNOWN OR OTHER
Headlights-Headlights are intentionally designed to accentuate two diagonal slashes ('/') in their beams. Consequently, when these beams project light, they tend to illuminate more of the front right side in the darkness. This shift in illumination can divert the driver's attention from the center of the lane towards the right, leading to an unnatural driving pattern and distraction. This effect is particularly pronounced in mountain passes, where the headlights tend to light up the ditches on the front right side instead of maintaining focus on the center of the road. I visited the Oakland Audi dealer for assistance, and they informed me that this design is intentional, and there is no corrective action they can take.

ELECTRICAL SYSTEM
We have spoken with the dealership multiple times about the safety concern of the recall on this vehicle. We have gotten nowhere with them. It is required that every vehicle have a backup camera for safety reasons and this does not work die to this recall. They are just dismissing anything and should be providing a replacement vehicle that does work until they are able to fix this problem.

SERVICE BRAKES
The break and gas pedal are made of hard plastic and they are very slippery. The should have been made of rubber to prevent slippage. I’m my opinion this is a safety issue.
