What's Being Recalled

Volkswagen Group of America, Inc. (Audi) is recalling certain 2019-2026 Audi vehicles, including the 2023 Audi e-tron. The core issue is a software error within the "BACK OVER PREVENTION: SENSING SYSTEM: CAMERA" component. This error can prevent the rearview camera image from displaying correctly, failing to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 111, "Rear Visibility."

How to Check if Your Vehicle is Affected

This recall, identified by Audi's internal number 90TV, applies to various Audi models from model years 2019 through 2026. Owners of an affected vehicle, such as the 2023 Audi e-tron, should have received a notification letter. You can also check if your specific vehicle is included by visiting the NHTSA website and entering your 17-digit Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Manufacturer's Remedy

Audi dealers will perform a software update to correct the rearview camera issue. This repair will be provided free of charge to all affected vehicle owners. Owner notification letters were mailed starting January 14, 2026. The VINs involved in this recall became searchable on NHTSA.gov on December 23, 2025.
