Acura announced on October 13, 2026, a comprehensive product roadmap for its North American operations, shared with U.S. dealers. The strategy involves the introduction of three new sport utility vehicles by 2028, alongside the integration of advanced hybrid technology into key models like the RDX and future D-Segment vehicles. This initiative is designed to broaden Acura's market reach and cater to evolving consumer preferences.

Expanding the SUV Lineup

The brand's expansion into new segments will begin with an adventure-ready SUV slated for release in early 2028. This new model is intended to offer enhanced capability for outdoor activities, combining contemporary design with premium features and the technology expected from an Acura vehicle. It represents an effort to attract new buyers by addressing the growing demand for versatile SUVs.

In addition to the adventure-focused model, Acura is developing an all-new 8-passenger SUV, which will be its largest vehicle to date. This SUV is positioned above the current 7-passenger MDX and aims to meet the increasing consumer interest in larger, family-oriented premium vehicles. The introduction of these two new SUVs, along with the existing ADX, MDX, and Integra, will allow Acura to offer a more diverse range of vehicles.

New Hybrid Technologies

A significant part of Acura's future strategy involves the rollout of new hybrid powertrains. The all-new fourth-generation Acura RDX, scheduled for market introduction in 2028, will be the first Acura model to feature the company's two-motor hybrid-electric technology. This marks a notable step in the brand's electrification efforts for its core models.

Furthermore, a new V6 hybrid powertrain is under development specifically for Acura D-Segment models. This powertrain is engineered to deliver improved performance, increased towing capabilities, and enhanced fuel efficiency. These hybrid advancements underscore Acura's focus on integrating more sustainable and powerful options across its lineup.

Market Performance and Future Outlook

Through the first nine months of 2026, Acura has reported a 4.4% year-over-year sales increase, outpacing the growth seen in several established luxury competitors. The Acura MDX, a consistent performer, has experienced a sales increase of over 25% during this period. Both the ADX and Integra models have also demonstrated strong retail sales, leading their respective segments.

For the 2027 model year, the MDX, ADX, and Integra are slated to receive significant enhancements, which are expected to further improve their market competitiveness and customer appeal. Approximately 85% of Acura vehicles sold in America during 2025 were manufactured in the United States, utilizing both domestic and globally sourced components.

This strategic roadmap, including the introduction of Acura new SUVs 2028 and advanced hybrid systems, indicates Acura's intent to strengthen its market position and cater to a broader customer base in North America.
