Acura ARX-06 GTP Program Pauses After Petit Le Mans

The 2026 Petit Le Mans race will mark the conclusion of the Acura ARX-06 GTP competition program, as the manufacturer announced a pause in its participation. This event also serves as the final race of the 2026 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb Agajanian will enter two ARX-06 vehicles in the 10-hour endurance event at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, aiming to conclude the program with a strong performance as the Acura ARX-06 program pauses.

Acura's Racing History at Road Atlanta

Acura and Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US) have a notable history at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, accumulating 11 victories across various racing series. Their first win at the circuit dates back to 1991, initiating a streak of three consecutive victories.

The manufacturer also achieved a three-peat in the LMP2 class from 2011 to 2013, utilizing the ARX-01g and ARX-03b chassis. More recently, Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) and HRC US have secured three Petit Le Mans wins. The first came in 2016 with the Ligier JSP2 Honda, contributing to a 1-2 finish for Honda.

MSR continued its success in 2022, winning the final DPi-era Petit Le Mans with drivers Tom Blomqvist, Oliver Jarvis, and Helio Castroneves in their Acura ARX-05. This victory helped secure the IMSA drivers', teams', and manufacturers' championships for Acura and MSR. They successfully defended their Petit Le Mans title in 2023 with the hybrid-powered Acura ARX-06 GTP, driven by Blomqvist, Colin Braun, and Castroneves.

Driver Lineup and Special Livery

For the upcoming 2026 Petit Le Mans, the #60 Acura Meyer Shank Racing ARX-06 will feature a driver lineup of Tom Blomqvist, Colin Braun, and Scott Dixon. Dixon is a two-time Petit Le Mans winner, and the team will be aiming for their fourth victory at the event with HRC US support.

The #93 ARX-06 will be piloted by full-season drivers Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly, who previously won at the Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach earlier this year. They will be joined by IndyCar champion Alex Palou, who recently secured his fifth Honda-powered NTT INDYCAR SERIES championship.

The #93 car will also feature a special 'Thank You' livery. This design is intended to commemorate Acura's decade of participation and achievements within the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
