Toyota has a Customer Support Program for white Toyota vehicles with peeling or chipping paint. The program covers vehicles in Blizzard Pearl or Super White that are within 10 years of their production date. The Tacoma is not listed on that recall. However, I am experiencing the very same issue with my Toyota. I took it to the local Toyota dealer and they confirmed the issue.

Hello NHTSA, I'm writing to you about a safety design concern (not a complaint, no incident happened) on my 2024 Toyota Tacoma. The rear brake lines are routed inside the wheel and have approximately 3/4" clearance. There is no room for error and brake failure may occur very easily with the line getting damage, even by removing and installing the wheel. My concern is safety for my family and self with future brake related failure. I contacted Toyota and their response was that they haven't heard of an incident and to take to the dealer. I'm sure the dealer will charge me for the visit and say there are no recalls and nothing damaged.

At approx 75K miles hood latch popped open. Noticed hood was open while driving on highway. Only the 2nd safety latch was holding it closed. Pulled over to close it but it would not fully latch. Noticed latch had a lot of rust. Did not bother taking it to a dealer or repair shop. Bought an aftermarket latch and easily installed myself which solved the issue. Very glad hood did not fully fly open which could have been catastrophic.

As I was pulling out from being parked the truck just dropped to the floor on the drivers side. When I got out to see what happened? My wheel broke off at the lower ball joint yesterday evening. I had to wait 2 hours for a tow. I had no warning or symptoms prior.

TRUCK IS ACTING LIKE IT IS IN NEUTRAL SOMETIMES WHILE DRIVING. WILL REV SUPER HIGH WHEN GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 60, AS WELL AS NOT GOING FROM A STAND STILL. SHIFTING USING THE MANUAL MODE DOES NOT HELP IT AT ALL, AS IT STILL HAS THE SAME ISSUES. TO MAKE A LONG STORY SHORT, THE TRUCK IS HAVING HARD SHIFTS AND COMES OUT OF GEAR WHILE MOVING AND STOPPED.

The contact owned a 2022 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed, upon reaching his destination, shifting the vehicle into the park position, and exiting, the vehicle began to roll away. The driver was unable to stop the vehicle, and as a result, the vehicle rolled off the roadway, coming to a complete stop at the bottom of a 25-foot embankment. The vehicle's location required specialized recovery, and upon extracting the vehicle, the recovery specialist confirmed that the shifter was shifted into the park position. All air bags were deployed. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was towed to a towed yard and deemed a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. A police report was not filed, and no injuries were reported. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, a case was opened, and the contact was referred to the NHTSA hotline for assistance. The failure mileage was 41,000.

Steering rack was found to be leaking fluid onto the rubber boot during the 52,000 mile oil change and general maintenance by the Toyota dealership. This leak requires the complete steering rack to be replaced for approximately $2,100.

Transmission experienced rough shifting from reverse to drive immediately followed by the inability to access gears 1-5. The transmission was within normal operating temperatures per the onboard temp readings. Going into park or neutral did not fix the issue. Stopping and restarting the engine allowed access to lower gears briefly, but once the vehicle shifted up, it could no longer access the lower gears. Shortly after this, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle went into limp mode.

I bought a 2024 Tacoma TRD Off Road Premium Package through MAS ( Military Auto Source ). I picked the vehicle up from the Bremerhaven port in Germany on 08 July 2024 it was missing the back bed charging adapter box but MAS said they would cover the cost in writing to fix no big deal and I drove it back to Weiden Germany. Today 09 July 2024 I lost the ability to shift into 2nd, 4th, and 6th gear. There is only 2 of these vehicles in the country of germany right now. The vehicle has approximately 735 Km on it. It probably would have happen early had i been shifting more but the majority of my first in it was on the Autobaun in 6th gear going roughly 130 Km most of the way with no down shifting or ciry driving. The vehicle has not yet been inspected by a toyota tech due to the vehicle not being produced in Germany but it doesnt take a genius to look up the issue your having and see the exact thing from multiple other Toyota owners. Toyota would be best to buy this vehicle back and reach out to me. Vin [XXX] Below is the customer care email i requested be sent with my reference number and case number. My 2014 Toyota Tacoma is experiencing paint chipping in large sections on multiple sections of the vehicle. Primarily this can be seen on the passenger side doors near the windows. I believe there was a recall for this vehicle for years 2016-2022. My request is to have my year model included as it is experiencing the exact same issues as the years already on the recall.

I was idling in line for food when I noticed my thermostat gauge going slightly higher in temp. All of a sudden I hear a loud hissing sound and smoke coming off of the engine as well as a chemical burn smell. I pulled over to the side in fear that a fire could potentially start. After some research I’ve concluded that it is the rear coolant bypass joint. It was a high stress situation where my family was in my vehicle. Please look into this!
