•What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? I purchased a 2025 Toyota Tacoma from Carver Toyota of Columbus, IN, 47280 brand new with only 15 miles. I also purchased the 100,000-mile bumper to bumper warranty that covers third party parts. After driving the vehicle for 5,000 miles, I noticed problems with Transmission or the Powertrain System whenever I would shift from 2nd to 3rd gear, down shift, shift to reverse, and would slip acceleration whenever the vehicle is sitting idle. •How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? This has impacted my safety and the safety of others by not properly shifting into gear. When accelerating it engages harshly from 2nd to 3rd gear. I can’t properly accelerate whenever the vehicle is idle; thus causing safety concerns when operating this vehicle. •Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? Yes, on [XXX], I took the vehicle into to Carver Toyota Service Center with only 10,639. My warranty covers 100,000 miles bumper to bumper. •Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? The Service Member with Carver Toyota “test drove” and confirmed that the vehicle shifted harshly from park to reverse and from 2nd to 3rd gear. The vehicle fluids were checked and were found to be low. The fluids were “topped off” and the vehicle was returned back to me within one day of my delivering it to them. •Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? At the time of my reporting this issue with Carver, there were no warnings or error codes indicted by the vehicle. However, this is a well known issue with this make and model of the Toyota Tacoma. I am reporting a serious safety incident with my 2008 Toyota Tacoma. While driving at approximately 65 mph on the highway last week, my spare tire detached from the vehicle (unknown at that time). The Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) light activated, and I later discovered the spare had broken free and fallen off. This was unknown until a week later when the dealership said the TPMS went off due to a missing spare tire. The failure was caused by severe corrosion of the spare tire carrier/hoist assembly, which gave way without warning. This created an immediate highway hazard for vehicles behind me. Toyota has previously issued recalls for spare tire carrier corrosion on earlier Sequoia and Tundra models. However, my 2008 model year was not included — yet the exact defect has now occurred. This is not a matter of convenience or maintenance. A spare tire falling off at highway speeds is a life-safety defect that should be investigated by Toyota and NHTSA before someone is seriously injured or killed.

The contact owns a 2024 Toyota Tacoma. The contact received notification of NHTSA Campaign Number: 25V058000(Service Brakes, Hydraulic); however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that while reversing at 5-7 MPH and depressing the brake pedal, the vehicle failed to respond, accelerated unintendedly, and crashed into an unoccupied parked vehicle. The other vehicle sustained damage. There was no injury sustained. The contact was able to drive away from the scene. A police report was filed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be diagnosed, but the vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 13,652.

While having routine maintenance performed on 8/5/2025, I was advised that the steering rack must be replaced at an approximate cost of $2,200. I was told this should be done as soon as possible because it poses a safety issue. The vehicle only has 29,000 miles and has not been driven off road or in extreme conditions. I researched the issue and it seems that a number of complaints have been filed for the same concern, specifically because this is happening at such low mileage. If Toyota does not come up with a resolution and recall for faulty equipment, will I be doing this repair again in another 29,000 miles?

You can copy and paste this link into your browser if its not click able, to see video of the event! I got pieces of glass into my eyes [XXX] Video of the Event 👆 This is what I sent to Toyota and the Dealer Toyota of Pharr, as I get ready to take it in for repair but they told me to make a claim on my insurance, when it was literally a defect with the glass Warranty Claim – Defective Sunroof Shattering (2025 TRD Pro) To Whom It May Concern, I am the owner of a 2025 Toyota TRD Pro currently under the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. While driving, the sunroof on my vehicle shattered spontaneously without any external impact. I have video evidence clearly showing the glass cracking, with no rock strikes or other outside causes. This failure I feel is a defect in materials, not outside damage, and therefore falls squarely under Toyota’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty. The warranty specifically excludes glass damage only when caused by external objects; it does not exclude spontaneous failures like this one. For my safety and the integrity of the vehicle, I am requesting that this repair be processed under warranty without delay. I’m risking water to enter the vehicle which will cause more damage. Please document and submit this claim to Toyota Corporate. I also feel I need to help the public of future Tacoma TRD Pro buyers and owners and file a formal defect complaint with NHTSA, as this type of spontaneous glass failure represents a significant safety concern. I respectfully request written confirmation that this will be covered under warranty and ask that you proceed with the repair promptly. Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. Clock spring has failed. I've lost all steering wheel button controls as well as cruise control. Air bag light has now come on. I am afraid that if I get into a wreck, the airbag will not deploy. This seems to be a common issue with this select year for this Tacoma.

Driving the car on the freeway and upon exiting it stalled going up an incline without any warning. Could have caused a major accident and I am lucky that it did not happen on the freeway. I researched and found out that 2019-2020 Toyota pickups had this known issue in which the fuel pump fails without any warning. As a result, Toyota did issue a recall, however when I contacted them and provided the Vin number, they indicated my truck was not covered under the recall. I am very upset that a 5 year old truck failed on the fuel pump and Toyota is not covering it under the recall since this is a known issue that could have resulted in a serious accident.

Prior to July, 2010, I received a letter from Toyota stating my Tacoma Frame was recalled. I wouldn’t have known otherwise. I set up an appointment with the Orleans Toyota dealer and set up an appointment. They gave me a loaner and had my truck for two weeks. I thought my frame had been replaced. All this time went by and now my frame is dangerously rusted. Last year I spent $2500 getting it spot welded. This year the mechanic says he may not be able to pass it next time. This provoked me to research all my bills for the truck. What I found was unbelievable to me. I never looked at my billing receipt from Orleans Toyota, but believed the frame was done. Not the case. They replaced the 83341 Spare Tire Carrier 5092 Wpt. Part=04002-11204. My Tacoma has 122,000 on it now. I’m [XXX]. I cannot afford a new car payment . From what I understand there are 100s of people with the same problem of seriously rusted frames. I need your help. I am filing this complaint regarding my Nuna RAVA convertible car seat. The seat’s harness straps have loosened unexpectedly, even when fully tightened according to the instruction manual. While I have been able to get them to stay tight, I have to constantly monitor them for potential slippage. This unpredictability is concerning because it could compromise my child’s safety in the event of a crash.
