SummaryDuring diagnostic monitoring of the hydraulic control valves of the PDK transmission, a fault memory entry is stored in the PDK control unit if an implausible shift rod movement is detected. The PDK control unit therefore initiates a flushing measure in order to flush particles of dirt determined as the cause of the fault out of the hydraulic control valves. As soon as the fault memory entry was activated in two consecutive driving cycles, there was a possibility with the previous diagnostic configuration that the message "Engine control fault ? visit workshop ? Driving permitted" would be displayed in the instrument cluster although the flushing measure had already been carried out successfully and a fault was no longer present. To prevent this from happening, the diagnostic function for monitoring the hydraulic control valves will be adapted accordingly.

SummaryThe vacuum line can slip off the control box as a result of component tolerances of the clamp. In the event of a customer complaint, check that the vacuum line is fitted securely on the control box at the left and right. ? If the vacuum line is fitted securely on the control box, the fault is not related to the cause described here. Find the cause of the fault and correct it. Invoice for Scope 1. ? If the vacuum line has slipped off the control box, the electric change-over valve can be contaminated by drawing in dirt. Replace electric change-over valve, blow out any dirt in the vacuum line using compressed air and secure the vacuum line to the control box using a new clamp.

SummaryThis campaign includes steps where control unit(s) in the vehicle will be programmed with the PIWIS Tester. The vehicle voltage must be maintained between 13.5 volts and 14.5 volts during this programming. Failure to maintain this voltage could result in damaged control unit(s). Damage caused by inadequate voltage during programming is not a warrantable defect. The technician must verify the actual vehicle voltage in the PIWIS Tester before starting the campaign and also document the actual voltage on the repair order. Please refer to Equipment Information EQ1401 for a list of suitable battery chargers/power supplies which should be used to maintain vehicle voltage. Due to a software error in the gateway control unit, the optional lightweight battery (lithium-ion battery) - if installed in the vehicle - will not charge using the Porsche Charge-o-mat Pro charger when this is used via the cigarette lighter or 12-volt plug socket in the vehicle. As a result, the lightweight battery can go flat if the vehicle is parked up for a long time. The charging function works, however, if the charger is connected directly to the vehicle battery using the optional clamp adapter.

Summary"THE UNWARRANTED ERROR MESSAGE ""GEARBOX FAULT"" CAN APPEAR SPORADICALLY IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER ON THE AFFECTED VEHICLES BECAUSE THE DIAGNOSTIC FUNCTION FOR THE HYDRAULIC VALVES IN THE PDK TRANSMISSION IS TOO SENSITIVE. IF THIS HAPPENS, THE PDK TRANSMISSION SWITCHES TO THE REDUCED DRIVING PROGRAMMED AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WILL BE ACTIVATED. RE-PROGRAM THE PDK CONTROL UNIT USING THE PIWIS TESTER WITH TEST SOFTWARE VERSION 16.400.010 (OR HIGHER) INSTALLED."

SummaryThere is a possibility that a gear synchronization component in the PDK transmission does not comply with the specified dimensions on the affected vehicles. This can result in noises after a gear change while driving. Continued use of the vehicle can cause the PDK transmission to switch to the reduced driving program and a corresponding warning will be displayed in the instrument cluster.

Summary"THIS CAMPAIGN INCLUDES STEPS WHERE CONTROL UNIT(S) IN THE VEHICLE WILL BE PROGRAMMED WITH THE PIWIS TESTER. PLEASE REFER TO EQUIPMENT INFORMATION EQ1401 FOR A LIST OF SUITABLE BATTERY CHARGERS/POWER SUPPLIES WHICH SHOULD BE USED TO MAINTAIN VEHICLE VOLTAGE."
