SummaryComplaint The vehicle pulls to the left or right. Cause In vehicles with Car Package Release "CPR" 2.1.0 or prior, the calibration value for the straight‑line stability of the electric power steering is not fully calibrated. Remedy Install Car Package Release 2.1.1 or later. Straight‑line normalization is then relearned during normal driving followed by a bus sleep. After the update, fault code P063544 may be active and stored in the electric power steering control unit, as the learned end stops are deleted during the update. This does not result in any functional limitations or warning messages; the end stops are learned during normal vehicle use. The fault code is cleared by automatic means after the teach‑in of the end stops is complete.

SummaryComplaint Repeat workshop visit for vehicle vibration while braking from 60MPH. NOTE: Although the symptom is similar to a tire or wheel vibration, it is usually readily noticeable that it is distinctly different if it happens at all times or only while braking. Cause Although the cause of the vibration is most likely due to excessive lateral runout on the rotor or hub/wheel bearing, the system as a whole needs to be checked for other possible contributors. 1. Prior collision damage. 2. Excessive vehicle sitting times without rotating components. 3. Wheel bearing/hub lateral runout. 4. Wheel mating interface has been overtightened (did not follow WIS torque procedures). 5. Mating interfaces have been excessively modified (painted, gouged, bent, etc...). Remedy Read through the entire attached worksheet prior to performing. After performing, please review the final page and perform work accordingly. NOTE: This document is not pre‑authorization or otherwise dealing with warranty. This is intended for diagnostic purposes only. If there are any questions on how to proceed OR The work sheet has been performed and the vehicle has returned with the same concern. Please perform the measurements as seen in the worksheet again and open a TIPS case to the Body, Chassis, and Entertainment team.

SummaryComplaint Clanking noise from the area of the speakers in the doors. Cause Under analysis. Remedy To narrow down the cause, first of all remove the door trim. • If the noise continues to occur even with the door trim removed, then continue the diagnosis working towards the speaker and if necessary, create a TIPS case with an informative video as an attachment. Note: Please refer to this document in the warranty claim and, once diagnosis is completed, select the damage code depending on the component part that is causing the issue. • If the noise stops when the door trim is removed, please proceed in accordance with LI72.10‑P‑067691. Information: In this case, do not use a damage code for the speakers in the warranty claim!

SummaryComplaint Display message in the instrument cluster for "Active Brake Assist Inoperative" or "DISTRONIC inoperative". AND Fault code C1100FC or C1100FD is Active or Active and Stored in MRR_F_Gen6 (B29/20). Cause The holder for the MRR_F_Gen6 (B29/20) front radar sensor may no longer have the correct alignment (angular position). Remedy Confirm whether the instrument cluster message was already present upon receipt of the vehicle by the end customer. Check if DTC mileage was present prior to vehicle PDI/Sale of vehicle. In this case, submit under warranty with the specified SSL. If vehicle exhibited the instrument cluster message AND DTC mileage was AFTER customer hand‑over, cost settlement under warranty is not possible as it is due to outside damages. Note: Additionally, it is possible to obtain a timestamp for a possible collision, including the date, if the end customer has purchased the "Parking and Collision Alert" digital service. In both cases, the front radar holder must be replaced. After replacing the radar holder, perform calibration in IDC_Gen6 (N62/5).

SummaryComplaint Clacking and creaking noises from the engine compartment during load changes, especially when driving off after a cold start and at outside temperatures below 41°F. Cause Engine mount A178 240 15 00. Remedy Remove lower engine mount A178 240 15 00 and replace it with lower engine mount A178 240 15 00 28. NOTE: The noise will resolve with the original engine mount A178 240 15 00 when the vehicle warms up. Please keep this in mind during complaint verification as it may not be reproducible if vehicle/mount is warm.

SummaryComplaint Tailgate opens unintentionally. Cause Accidental or unnoticed activation of the button to open the tailgate on the vehicle key. EXAMPLE: when stored in trouser pocket, handbag etc. Remedy As of the 6th generation, the vehicle key can be recoded so that the tailgate no longer opens as a result of a long press on the button, but by double‑clicking on the button instead. This reduces the likelihood of the button being activated accidentally or unintentionally. The recoding can be carried out as follows: 1. Add SA Code O19 into VeDoc (O for Oscar, not "zero") • an XSS ticket may be necessary to add the SA code 2. Perform SCN coding of EIS N73 control unit 3. Deactivate the vehicle key (a successful deactivation is indicated by the LED lighting up 2x briefly and then 1x for a long period). 4. Place the vehicle key in the storage compartment on the key symbol and turn on the ignition. IMPORTANT: all other vehicle keys must be outside the recognition range of the vehicle when doing this! Perform steps 3 and 4 successively for all vehicle keys. Notes: 6th, 7th and 8th generation keys can be deactivated as follows: Up to modification year 22/1 by double clicking the "Lock button" As of modification year 22/1, by press and holding the “Lock button", then double‑click the “Unlock button" at the same time. On model series 167, the storage compartment with the key symbol is located in the armrest. The SCN coding from the EZS is only transferred correctly to the vehicle key under the following conditions: Only one vehicle key is located in the vehicle, this key has been deactivated and it is positioned on the marking in the storage compartment for the data transfer. The costs for this adaptation are to be borne by the customer. For the newer BR 174, 178, 244, 248, 520, and 540, a software update must be initiated, as there is no way to perform SCN coding.

SummarySingle throttle lift-off clunking noise from the side shaft when moving off (audible at the outboard end). The noise is heard once in each instance when changing direction of travel. Note: Sound file in attachment Cause If the complaint is eliminated by experimentally loosening the outboard collar nut (by 1 turn), the problem is due to cracking of the microweld between the wheel bearing inner race and the joint housing of the side shaft. Note: The collar nut must always be replaced after being loosened. See also LI33.20-P-078406 Remedy Coat contact surface of side shaft with wheel bearing with Molykote paint. To do this, proceed as follows: 1. Remove side shafts 2. Clean contact surface A (see image file in attachment "Outer joint housing before") before coating with Molykote, using "spirit" (free of dust and grease) 3. Coat contact surface A (see image file in attachment "Outer joint housing after") with Molykote and leave to dry for "one hour" in removed condition 4. Reinstall side shafts Note: Before using the antifriction coating (Molykote), stir it or shake it thoroughly for (at least 1 minute).

If date is prior to June 09, 2026, vehicle can be released. The message just needs to be cleared on startup in the instrument cluster and all ADAS systems function. Once software is available, update and bus sleep (30 minutes). Re-check vehicle after bus sleep for presence of cluster message. If message has cleared and concern is resolved, release the vehicle.
