SummarySome vehicles may exhibit a crack in the door side of the front seat cushion trim. This may be caused by the door-side surface of the cushion trim being folded and compressed when exiting the vehicle and by the surface of the cushion bolster being rubbed and stretched when entering the vehicle. Repeated occurrences of these conditions may result in a crack forming in the surface of the seat cushion trim. To eliminate this concern, the material of the door-side surface of the front seat cushion trim has been modified to improve tear strength and scratch resistance.

SummarySome customers may complain about a rattle or vibration noise coming from front map light surroundings when driving on a rough road. This may be caused by the bracket for the map light. Due to heat or vibrations, the fastener fixing the front map light to the bracket may deform, making the joint loose. In such case, when the vehicle bounces, the bracket may oscillate and produce a rattling noise. To eliminate that concern, non-woven fabric will be attached to the headliner.

SummaryA New Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF-A7) is being used for some 2023-2026 models. ATF-A7 is an extremely low viscosity formulation with low friction to achieve best-in-class fuel economy and driving performance. For easy identification, ATF-A7 is colored Red and ATF-FZ is colored Blue. There is NO interchangeability between ATF-A7 and ATF-FZ. For CX-30, Mazda3, and CX-5, some 2.5L and all 2.5T engines still use ATF-FZ. Verify the type of ATF according to what is in MGSS (TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE TECHNICAL DATA) or what is marked on the dipstick (see below).

SummarySome vehicles may experience exterior trim heat damage such (melted, separating, etc.) when parked near a glass building or Low-E windows. This may be caused by the sun's reflection. If a structure's windows create enough of a curve, the concave glass can focus the sun's rays onto a small area and acting like magnifiying glass direct the sunbeams into a hot pinpoint of light. This magnifcation of the sun's rays can cause damage to vehicle trim (see examples). Additional information and exemplar images regarding this phenomenon can be found by performing a google search.

SummarySome vehicles may exhibit the following behavior: If the power liftgate (PLG) encounters an obstruction during opening or closing, the jam-safe function is designed to stop the liftgate and reverse it slightly. Normally, pressing the liftgate button (dash, liftgate, or remote) after this happens should cause the liftgate to continue in the reverse direction. Due to a software issue, if the liftgate button is pressed after the jam-safe function is activated, the liftgate may instead continue moving in the direction of the obstruction. This occurs randomly and cannot be predicted. To correct this concern, the control software of the power liftgate control module has been modified to ensure the liftgate always continues in the reverse direction when the opener switch is operated immediately after the jam-safe function is activated.

SummaryWhile driving on gravel or dusty roads, dust accumulates at the lower inner edge of the door garnish. When the rear door is opened, the dust may be blown up and enter the cabin, adhering to the seats and the floor. This is caused by a large gap at the lower part of the boundary between the rear door and the front door, and air containing dust and/or sand is sucked up into the gap, accumulating at the lower edge of the rear door garnish while driving. To eliminate this concern, a mass production change is under study.

SummarySome vehicles may exhibit sagging (1) at the front side of the rear sunshade(s) (2) or a difference in tension between the front and rear of the sunshade(s). When the rear sunshade is fully pulled up and then hooked up, the front hook's position may be lower, causing sagging on the front side of the rear sunshade.

SummarySome customers may notice an abnormal noise (i.e. whine, groan, rattle or squeak) coming from the front combination lights when turning them on, or a few minutes after turning them off. The noise may be due to contamination by foreign matter during the manufacturing process and the fan motor bearing may become worn out during use. To eliminate this concern, the fan motor has been modified. NOTE: It is normal for some noise to occur within the first few seconds after starting the engine, when the front combination lights perform a self check (sweep).

SummarySome customers may complain that the rear outer handle is difficult to operate or that it gets stuck when released after being pulled once. This is caused when the rear outer handle and the rear handle bracket swell up from absorbing water and the space between them is reduced, resulting in friction and resistance when returning to the rest position after the handle has been pulled. To eliminate this concern, the rear outer handle and the rear outer handle bracket have been further modified to secure space between them even if the parts absorb water.
