Some vehicles may exhibit a clunking noise from the front coil springs when driving over bumps. The noise is due to stick-slip between the front strut bearing (1) and the coil spring (2). To eliminate the noise, protectors have been installed onto the coil spring.

Some vehicles may experience the symptoms mentioned below, which can be fixed with the latest software update (Version 59.00.546 or later). NOTE: For 2016 CX-9 with version earlier than 59.00.441, the tachometer function will be removed from the Active Driving Display as part of Mazda's continuing efforts to improve safety and reduce driver distraction. Please explain this to the customer before updating the software. If the customer agrees, turn off the tachometer display on the AD-Display tab in MAZDA CONNECT Settings before performing the update. NOTE: If the customer has customized MAZDA CONNECT with something like a different background using unauthorized software, make sure they know the following information before updating MAZDACONNECT to avoid any issues later on. Updating MAZDA CONNECT to the latest version will erase any customization created by unauthorized software. Unauthorized customization software will not work on the latest version of MAZDA CONNECT software. The latest version of MAZDA CONNECT software cannot be rolled back to an earlier version. Mazda does not recommend unauthorized customization of MAZDA CONNECT due to the possibility of unexpected problems. Any issues related to this will not be covered under Mazda warranty policy.

This issue could be caused by mis-matched BSM modules, especially if the vehicle was recently involved in an accident or work was done on the BSM system. Some vehicles with accessory installed wheel locks may have had the wrong kit installed using a 21 mm wheel lock key. As of May 01, 2018, Japan produced vehicles use 17 mm hex lug nuts instead of 21 mm on the same size thread. Follow the instructions below to replace the wheel lock kit with a 17 mm wheel lock key. NOTE: The Mazda3 produced in Mexico is not affected

P0456: EVAP system leak detected (very small leak)The concern is most likely the result of the customer not getting the fuel cap completely closed after fuelingthe vehicle. This causes a small fuel vapor leak and turns DTC P0456 on.

Summary
If a vehicle is driven on extremely short trips most of the time (where the engine never reaches normal operating temperature), the engine oil may become diluted with fuel and the engine oil level will increase. Engine oil dilution with fuel occurring under this specific driving condition is normal with direct injection engines. If the vehicle is driven on a longer trip after a lot of short trips (where the engine reaches normal operating temperature), the Check Engine Light may turn ON with DTC P0172:00 (Fuel system too rich).

Some vehicles may experience the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ON with DTC P2610 and P2507 stored inmemory after engine start and room fuse 15A (A) removed. P2610:00: Instrument cluster internal engine off timer performance problem P2507:00: PCM battery voltage low input. As a past malfunction, the customer will not notice it (no warning light illuminated), but the DTC may be found during a vehicle service. P2507 in this situation is only applicable on 2016 and later models. This is caused by the engine being started 3 or more times after a short duration of engine off (less than 15 seconds) with the room fused removed. NOTE: The odometer will display "F0-002" during transport mode (room fuse 15A removed). Transport mode is canceled when room fuse 15A is installed or the vehicle odometer is more than 12.4mi (20km). Vehicles in dealer inventory with this concern should be repaired using the following repair procedure.

Some vehicles may have DTC C1001:92 stored in memory. DTC C1001:92 sets as a past record for low visibility of the Forward Sensing Camera (FSC). It does not mean there is an actual FSC defect. In some cases the customer may have a concern with the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) and/or High Beam Control system (HBC). In other cases this DTC might be found without a related customer concern.NOTE: Instrument Cluster Multi-Information Display Warning Messages vary depending on vehicle year/model. See the Owner's Manual for details.

MAZDA CONNECT SOFTWARE VERSION 59.00.545 AVAILABLE. An update to the MAZDA CONNECT system is now available for download from the Mazda Global Service Support (MGSS) system. The new version number is 59.00.545. Mazda Requests the MAZDA CONNECT system be updated on all new vehicle inventory and CPO vehicles ASAP. For CPO inventory vehicles out of warranty, for this software release only, you may use Dealer Self Authorization or DSM goodwill. Click on "Infotainment", then "MAZDA CONNECT Updates" to download it and update your USB drives. Also make sure to select "All Files" for "Save as type:". If left as "Compressed (zipped) Folder," the file will be saved as a ".zip" no matter what you use as an extension. DO NOT shut off the ignition or let it shut off at any time during the entire MAZDA CONNECT update process (both Failsafe and Reinstall), otherwise the CMU may be damaged and need to be replaced.

Some automotive cleaning products contain strong acid or alkali. When these types of cleaners are used to clean the wheels on Mazda vehicles, the chemicals contents penetrate the clear coating of the wheel surface and damage the paint under the clear coating. The damaged area has the appearance of dark stains.
