SummaryTSB: MDPS FLEXIBLE COUPLING REPLACEMENT - This bulletin is issued to provide information about the replacement of the flexible coupling in the MDPS motor of some vehicles which might experience a âÂÂknockâ noise originating from the MDPS, when moving the steering wheel to right or left when the vehicle is stopped. This is caused by premature wear of the flexible coupling in the MDPS motor. If any âÂÂknockâ noise from the MDPS occurs, replace the affected flexible coupling only with an improved one, following the Replacement Procedure below.

SummaryTSB: SPECIAL SERVICE INFORMATION & SPECIFICATIONS FOR GDI HIGH PRESSURE FUEL SYSTEM - This bulletin has been revised to include additional information. This bulletin provides information relating to all Kia vehicles equipped with Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engines. In these engines highly pressurized gasoline is injected via a common fuel rail and injectors that deliver fuel directly into the combustion chamber of each cylinder. In comparison, in a conventional Multi-Point Fuel Injection (MPI) engine, the gasoline is injected into the intake port of each cylinder at a relatively low pressure. Due to high fuel pressure in a GDI system, servicing the GDI system requires special attention and handling procedures. This bulletin provides special service information and specifications for the GDI fuel system components.

SummaryPITSTOP: ROUGH IDLE AFTER COLD START ON 3.3L GDI ENGINE - When addressing a customer complaint of rough idle, which occurs only on the first start of the day and lasts for 30-45 seconds, check for the possibility of poor injector performance in a particular cylinder. This concern may feel like a misfire, however, it is not an emissions or catalyst damaging misfire and it does not typically trigger any DTC(s). To diagnose this concern, go to KDS ? Data Analysis ? Engine and monitor for Current Misfire Counts on all 6 cylinders, during the first cold start in the morning, to assist in determining which cylinder is responsible for the rough idle condition. Replace only the injector for the affected cylinder. To verify the repair, recheck again after an overnight cold soak to make sure the rough idle condition is no longer present.

(Very) Small Leak Detected) or fuel smell on some 2017MY Cadenza (YG) vehicles, produced before August 7, 2017 and some Optima Hybrid (JF HEV) vehicles, produced before August 16, 2017. When addressing the concern with DTC P0456/P0442 and the vapor lines, fuel cap, and all other corresponding circuits are found to be within specifications, it may be necessary to inspect the fuel pump seal for damage. If this seal is found to be torn or split, replace the fuel pump seal by referring to the ?Engine Control / Fuel System ? Fuel Delivery System ? Low Pressure Fuel Pump ? Repair procedures? chapter in the applicable Shop Manual on KGIS.
