My steering wheel locked while I was driving and it was very difficult to pull the car over to stop, as the steering wheel became very tight. I was in a roundabout and almost crashed. My EPS light came on and went off once I turned the car off. I have had the car looked at by a mechanic and the entire steering column needs to be replaced.

My airbag light has been on for the past few months, and I am worried about the airbags not deploying in an accident. I will need to follow up with a dealer on this issue, but have seen others online say they are being charged $250 to have it fixed.

The contact owns a 2023 Hyundai Elantra. The contact stated that while driving 55 MPH and above, the RPM fluctuated, and the engine revved loudly. The transmission then seized in 5th gear, and the vehicle lost motive power. No warning light was illuminated. Additionally, the failure recurred while driving at 65–70 MPH with the cruise control activated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer; however, the dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The failure persisted, and the vehicle made an abnormally loud sound while the transmission was shifted into park (P). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 20,600.

Car has faulty engine. Have spoke to mechanics all over the state saying Hyundai Elentras have engines that are bound to die on you . Car started out stalling while driving on highway at about 85,000 miles , I bought it used at 78,000. Have replaced the vvt solenoids because this is what the engine light codes have said were the problem. I have been to hyundai dealerships and they aren't doing anything because its no recall even tho since 2017 people have been reporting this problem all over the internet . Mechanic says I have another 2,500 miles if that left on the engine even though its barely at 120,000 miles . Ive seen online people having to get new engines as low as 50,000 miles . This is a obvious problem and with Hyundai’s being a foreign car I would think the government would push for a recall on there faulty products .

- #11570163February 5, 2024SERVICE BRAKES, FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING
My car has 11000 miles. 6 times I have had the emergency braking come on when there have been no cars close to me (4 times by 3500 miles and twice from 3500-11000). One time no other cars even in sight. I have been on the freeway and on side streets, so from 20 mph to 65-70 mph. It is startling and I'm afraid will cause me to get rear ended as it's instinctive to step on brake when this happens. I mentioned this to the dealer I purchased it from at my 3500 and 11000 mile oil changes and they said they couldn't reproduce it and everything was fine. It's only happened 6 times in 11000 miles so it is unlikely the dealer will be able to reproduce. But especially going freeway speeds it is not safe to slam on breaks for no reason and I am afraid of getting rear ended. I was looking online to see if this problem had been reported and someone with the same issue was recommended to report it to this site, so I am doing the same. Thank you.

2 times on freeway and 1 time on city streets, no vehicles within 100 yards and vehicle came to complete random stop. On freeway, tires skidded it was so abrupt and had neck pains for a few days thereafter. One time also on city street, corrective steering pulled shaply to right almost causing accident. Called hyundai and the representative had no advice or care to even intake the issue for records.not a safe vehicle especially since the engine has already failed and the ac has been replaced. It's now a frankenstein death trap being a danger to myself and others but they do not care.

The vehicle's horn has completely stop working as of [XXX]. I took the vehicle to a toyota dealership because the Hyundai dealerships did not have any available appointments at the time. The Toyota dealership in Ardmore looked at the vehicle to see if there were any issues with fuses and wires. They were unable to find any issues. The dealership recommended I contact Hyundai. I then arranged for an appointment from Hyundai. Several days before the appointment, I was contacted by Conicelli Hyundai. They told me they are not taking any new bookings. I put a bad review on Conicelli's google review. I received a message from Conicelli's customer service department askimg me to call back. I called them back and was told that the service manager will call me back. The service manager called back and I explained that the horn is not working. The service manager told me that they just replaced a horn on someone elses car. He also related that the item is on back order. When I did some google searches for horn issues, I began to see that this is a national problem with their horn failures on various vehicles among different years. I have not driven the car since the horn failure. I believe the horn is on back order because Hyundai is having so many problems with their horn. This is with regard to recall 23V651000 which has been active since 9/22/23 and the statement on your website: "If the manufacturer has failed or is unable to remedy this safety recall for your vehicle in a timely manner...file an online complaint with NHTSA." It's been over four months and there's no remedy in sight. I don't consider that timely, particularly since we've been told to park the vehicle outside. In our upper-Midwest environment, that renders our garage worthless in the winter--we're likely to have to scrape the ice off of the windows every morning before using the vehicle.

Rapid rusting of rear subframe cross member. Car rarely gets driven in snow or even bad weather. Went from minimal signs of rust to looking pretty rotted within the past year. Saw recalls on similar Hyundai vehicles. Maybe possible the same steel was used, or same lack of corrosion preventative.

- #11568971January 31, 2024FORWARD COLLISION AVOIDANCE: AUTOMATIC EMERGENCY BRAKING, LANE DEPARTURE: WARNING
Driving at 70mph, another vehicle that is sitting on the grass on the side of the road decides to pulls out in front of me as I'm approaching(no warnings occurred from the collision assist system). I swerved to avoid the other vehicle and then he decides to pull into the lane that I'm trying to get into to avoid him. I break hard but not hard enough to lock the tires up or set off the ABS. Moments after that incident, faults begin to pop up on my instrument cluster, Check Lane Departure Warning System(LDWS), Check Autonomous Emergency Braking System(AEB) and Check Smart High Beam System. I figured that since some of these are safety related that I should report it. My vehicle has approximately 38000 miles.

For the past two weeks, the car has intermittently stalled out and the engine, oil, and battery lights come on. The dashboard electronics and radio stay on. When this happens, I have to put the car in park and turn it off, then turn it back on. It has restarted immediately each time and drives normally. It has stalled out multiple times in a day, but not everyday. I took it to my mechanic twice to pull an error code from the warning lights, but he could not. My safety and the safety of others were put at risk when it stalled out while I was deaccelerating on an exit ramp that merges with three other lanes. I could have been hit from behind by others exiting the interstate highway or hit on either side of my car from drivers switching lanes at that junction. It stalled out the same day in the middle of a roundabout, where drivers yield and merge at 30 mph. I've noticed that when it stalls out, I'm usually braking or the vehicle is turning. The car is currently at the mechanic, who has not yet been able to reproduce the stalling and warning lights, but he did pull a diagnostic trouble code: P010600; Description: Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit Range/Performance. He's not sure if it's a faulty sensor or if something is causing the trouble code since the warning lights weren't on with the code. The car has not yet been inspected by the dealership or others.

After raining here in houston texas I received a message on dashboard saying check rear cross traffic warning system. the warning has now inactivated the horn , the red lights on mirror does not alert me of cars behind me as I cross into traffic, camera works perfect but does not alert me of potential dangers when backing up like it normally would. The feedback when locking my car door is also inactive.

My vehicle usually would turn on the warning light stating that the engine oil level is low when I accelerate. The last time I had an oil change, it would turn on when I accelerate my vehicle to merge on the highway. I have had my engine oil level sensor changed out in my vehicle by a Hyundai tech. Immediately after my sensor was changed and I merged on to the nearest highway, it went on again when I increased speed. My vehicle has been inspected by a Hyundai dealer but it could not be fixed. This does not happen when you are at a consistent speed but rather when the car needs to accelerate.
