I have steering issues and it is worse in the colder weather. Like sticky steering. I noticed it soon after I bought the car and then it seemed to go away but now steering is weird all the time and I only have 9,000 miles on the car.

I was unloading my groceries and over my head. My windshield from the back of the hatchback closure exploded over my head, and then I had to pay a 500 deductible because Honda said that there was no recall for an overheating back windshield so I had to pay out-of-pocket for it, and they literally had a hole and it exploded over my head and they said they couldn’t do a recall.

The steering wheel effectively sticks at any speed, especially at the home position. It takes a meaningful amount of force to move the steering wheel once stuck, creating a safety hazard. I noticed this while driving the car, who we bought for our son, creating even more of an issue for him being a new driver. It’s my understanding this is a known issue with the Civic and other models. It does need to be addressed before someone gets hurt.

The steering is sticking and jerky without the lane assist, especially when it's cold out. Instead of normal smooth steering correction while driving, it builds up pressure while trying to correct, then it feels like a slip, then a jerk. It makes me feel very unsafe and I always now have to have a firm grip on the wheel

Upon entering my parked vehicle today 11/30/23, I got in and closed the driver side door of my 2023 Honda Hrv. Immediately I heard a crash and looked behind me to see that my rear windshield had shattered and the middle part was caved in with glad all in the trunk. I got out, inspected the area and there was nothing to indicate why the windshield spontaneously combusted like this. I took it to the dealer I bought it from and no one had seen or heard of this before. Upon searching online, I found several websites where other people have reported the same thing happening, either when the car is parked or while driving. The dealership is currently trying to figure out how to handle this.

2023 Honda hrv I have a sticking steering wheel. It seems to happen in colder wet weather. The steering wheel seems to kind of get stuck, and you have to really pull to get it to free up, but then on the next turn of the wheel, it sticks again. So it’s a constant battle. For me it happens at higher speeds, 55mph or higher. This has been happening about a month. I made an appt with my Honda dealer, they couldn’t find anything wrong, no codes. They gave me no invoice.

- #11557686November 30, 2023AIR BAGS, SERVICE BRAKES, SEAT BELTS
The contact owns a 2022 Honda HR-V. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the "brake" warning light had intermittently flashed on and off. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the brake calipers were leaking fluid and the calipers were serviced. No further information was available. Later while pulling into a parking space and pressing the brake pedal, the pedal extended to the floor and the vehicle crashed into a metal fireman's latter. During the crash, the vehicle sustained severe front-end damage but no air bags deployed, the seat belt malfunctioned and did not secure the driver. The driver sustained a fractured lumbar spine vertebrae and was transported to the hospital. A police report was taken at the scene and the vehicle was towed away. The cause of the failures were not determined. The local dealer was notified of the crash. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 5,000.

The rear glass randomly shattered at a stop sign. Nice sunny day in SoCal 75° and clear. Our safety was not immediately in danger but we couldn’t drive the vehicle. Honda roadside came and towed it to a dealership close to our house. It was approved by the “claim adjuster” and repaired about 3 business days later. Very scary.

No incident has happened yet. The issue I am having is with the steering. When driving, it seems as though the steering is almost sticking and when it finally adjusts, it does like a small jerk. It's almost like the car doesn't want you to turn or adjust the steering at all and wants you to stay straight. Seems worse now that it's getting cold outside, but it could be that it's just getting worse with time. I'm worried about how its going to drive when it's raining outside. I took it to the dealer and the service advisor blamed it on my car getting hit when it was parked and said that it had to do with that. The damage to my car was very minimal and didn't affect anything other than cosmetics. When I told him that I started feeling this sticking feeling with the steering wheel, he said that it had nothing to do with Honda. I thought maybe it was all in my head, but the more I drive it, the more I know that there is actually something wrong. Today I did some research and it turns out that I'm not the only one having the issue. Obviously, this needs to be investigated before someone gets hurt or possibly even killed. It's definitely a safety issue. Please look into this!!

My HRV Honda got recall about the unsafe of front seat belt. I brought my car to Honda Dealer and I was told that they don't have part to replace and no ETA at all. That means I have to drive my car under risk. Hope NHTSA would force the Honda Co resolves this safety issue as soon as possible. Received the following message on the infotainment screen upon starting my car: "system lost power and is acquiring its location from the GPS satellites. This usually takes less than 10 minutes. * Start the engine. * Park the vehicle in an open area away from trees, power lines, and tall buildings. * Remove loose articles, mobile phones, or electrical accessories located near the GPS antenna. * If this screen is displayed repeatedly when starting the vehicle, see your dealer" Took the car back to the dealership, they ran some basic tests and said they couldn't replicate the issue and to bring it back if it happened again. When it happened again, I returned to a Honda dealership that told me that I would have to pay a diagnostic fee to determine what was wrong and that since the error wasn't happening at the time more than likely they wouldn't be able to find anything. I even had a recording of it happening on my phone when it did happen. I have had this happen at least 20-25 times since I purchased the car in April 2022. It renders the infotainment completely useless for any sort of navigation, reverse camera, or radio.
