Engine light came on, along with 'Service ESC' and 'Service Parking Brake' I drove it to my local GMC and it continued smoking and they told me that if I drove it like that it could blow up the engine. They mentioned a recall on these types of trucks but they said the warranty on my vehicle had expired at 60000 miles. Yes, I took it to Rogers GMC in Hermiston and the diagnostic is, "Mechanical: Valve Lifters - Remove and Replace" Totaling repairs to about $7000 Before this nothing was wrong, I drove it to work everyday and one evening when I turned it on the dashboard lit up and it started smoking.

1. Electronic power steering modular issue. My 2018 GMC SEIRRA 1500 CREW CAB JUST LOST ALL POWER STEERING. THEN WHEN I PARK IT. Assist notifications come on, ABS notices, BRAKE light stays on, trailer/tow notifications, trailer assist, parking brake, etc SUDDENLY A LOUD thump & feels like the whole truck just drops like 5” inches, settling. I cannot afford an inspection (ID theft in 2025, compromised all accts & all credit cards) BUT. It IS available as long as cost is covered by YOU !! 2. Lucky it happened in a grocery store parking lot. However not expecting power steering to go out, almost hit a pedestrian. 3. No it has not Ben inspected yet I can’t afford the bill 4. No it has not been reported what for I didn’t hit anybody and the cops in this area they could give her rats ass they don’t make a report the question you like you’re like a criminal. 5. No warnings or anything until it happened that day leaving the grocery store. There is absolutely no notification it was gonna happen. It ran fine when I parked it to grocery shop Come back out & I could barely back out to leave. I can lift up my had fatboy if needed so I’m sure turning a steering wheel…. lol Thnx a lot If I could figure out what part needs to be changed out or you could cover the parts needed. I do work in cars or have in the past, I don’t like the new ones, but this seems simple enough if I knew exactly what part I needed to pull out change out or I see that there’s recalls on previous vehicles and GMC after2020- 24 but I don’t see 2018 didn’t happen so I like to say whoever created that electronic steering can take that module along with the harness and they know exactly where they can put it don’t they I’m just saying as a used to be not sure now a GMC supporter, but I’m starting to think twice now if I

- #11721467March 2, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
I had and still have the Brake Assist failure warning light on and having issues with brake pedal effort not working as it should to stop vehicle and also the stability control warning lights., the brakes hardly work at all at low speeds and most of the time don't stop the vehicle almost causing several crashes. I took vehicle to gm service center and they said they updated software but when I picked up the vehicle and drove it not long after the brake assist warning came back on and I still had no brakes at slower speeds and the problem had actually gotten worse than it was before i took it to them. I called the dealership and told them that the problem had not been fixed and it was worse they said that I would have to pay the service fee / price for parts if I wanted to bring the vehicle back in and to have problem fixed...I explained it was a re call and it was taken to them to have issue fixed in the first place ...and I was told I would have to pay since they updated software ..I then explained it was worse than when I took it to them and still got denied any kind of resolution to the problem. Nothing was fixed or solved. I still had the warning lights on dash and the problem was worse then when I took the vehicle to them for repair. Not long after the transmission went out and the vehicle hadn't been drove. So it sat for 2 yrs or so. I just got a new one put in and the vehicle still has the same problems with the brake system . I reached out to dealership once again and was told I would still have to pay to have the issues fixed when it was never taken care of by them to begin with.

- #11721515March 2, 2026WHEELS:RIM
The contact owns a 2019 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact stated that the wheels on the vehicle were not what was listed in the description of the vehicle. The vehicles installed on the vehicle were 17-inch wheels instead of the 18-inch wheels listed as the original equipment for the vehicle. The contact was concerned that the difference between the OEM wheels and the wheels installed on the vehicle could cause ABS failures while driving the vehicle. The contact referenced NHTSA ID Number: 21V985000 (TIRES), but the VIN was not included in the recall. The dealer was not notified of the issue. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 44,741.

At 96,000 miles (3,000 miles after the extended warranty expired), I noticed the "GM tick" more prominent and had more of a metallic sound than it ever did. Upon further investigation, it was found that a collapsed lifter may be the culprit. The truck was brought to the dealer and it was confirmed that the #1 hydraulic lifter had collapsed and needed replacement. This work was approved and tonight, I received a call from Rivard Buick GMC saying that the collapsed lifter also caused significant wear on the camshaft which also now requires replacement. Loss of power on the road poses a significant risk as I carry my children in the vehicle. No warning lamps, messages, or other indicators appeared before or when the issue occurred. The issue was reproduced by the manufacturer/dealer. The dealer Service Manager confirmed that this is extremely common with these trucks with the 6.2L engine and said it was a design flaw due to Dynamic Fuel Management, as well as the oil viscosity recommendation from GM being too low. The year group before and after the 2020 has been recalled along with TSB's issued, however, this group is not part of it. I contacted GM Customer Service (Case [XXX]) and was offered a 10% discount on the repair, being told that this is a "great deal considering the vehicle is out of warranty". GM Customer Service has now resorted to not answering any further questions after several attempts to reach someone. This is also after replacing the 10-speed transmission that was also not part of any recall but that was such an issue that the dealer was only able to source used transmissions rather than new parts. Clearly GM won't make the right decisions to back their products or customers, so NHTSA intervention is necessary. The coolant control valve failed. This is a known failure point of poor design and on every other truck from 2019-2023 with the duramx LM2/LZ0 engine, they are covered by a special service warranty to 150,000 miles. GM knows this items fails and puts consumers lives at risk when the failure throws the truck into limp mode on the freeway. They refuse to do a recall to avoid doing the right thing. This is deceptive and wrong.

On 2/4/2026, my vehicle (2019 GMC Sierra AT4 and VIN # 3GTP9EED5KG240494) experienced a catastrophic failure of the engine oil cooler lines. This is a well-documented manufacturing defect involving the failure of the crimp joints between the rubber hose and metal tubing. This failure occurred abruptly, causing massive oil loss and posing a severe safety risk due to the potential for sudden loss of oil pressure and engine seizure while operating the vehicle at highway speeds. This specific component failure is recognized by General Motors under Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP) N212326940. GM explicitly acknowledged this failure as a manufacturing defect. Despite the fact that the defect is inherent to the part’s design—and not a result of typical "wear and tear"—GM has denied my request for reimbursement, citing that the vehicle is outside the standard 36,000-mile warranty period. I exhausted all good-faith efforts to resolve this through GMC’s internal escalation process. I spoke with a representative and a supervisor, both of whom refused to honor a reimbursement request based on the manufacturing defect. They refused to consider that the defect, as documented in GM’s own internal bulletins, is independent of mileage and that the repair was performed at an authorized GM dealership. I am seeking full reimbursement of $2,171.58 for the repair of a known, safety-related manufacturing defect. GM is failing to stand behind their "Professional Grade" standards by refusing to cover a part they have already admitted is defective. I request that your office mediate this dispute to facilitate a full refund of my out-of-pocket repair costs.
