BRAKE FAIL'S DUE TO LEAK IN BRAKE BOOSTER, BRAKES STILL WORK BUT EXTREME PRESSURE ON PEDAL REQUIRED TO STOP CAR AND EXTRA TIME AND DISTANCE REQUIRED TO STOP OR SLOW CAR. CAR GARAGED ENTIRE LIFE AND ONLY JUST TURNED 100K ON ODOMETER. THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL IN THE INTEREST OF SAFETY AS MANY PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED THIS AND NO ACTION ON FORD'S PART TO CORRECT THIS DANGEROUS SITUATION. THIS HAS BEEN TALKED ABOUT MANY TIMES ON INTERNET.

Brakes not working right, feel spongy. Not sure if I would stop at stop signs or coming up behind other vehicles. Also heard a hissing sound when stepping on brakes. Took to Brakes Plus center and they determined it was the power brake booster and master cylinder and that the car should not be driven due to the severity of the problem. We called a Ford Dealership and validated my vin was not part of a recall and that the car had never had this issue fixed previously. The Brakes Plus employee found there was a recall for this exact issue, but as stated before, the vin was not part of this recall. I had to have the brakes fixed immediately to prevent harm to others or myself. I called a Ford Dealership to get an appointment, left a message, but still have not heard back from them so I had it fixed at Brakes Plus. The car never displayed any warning that I am aware of. Due to this being a known severe issue, I believe Ford should cover this issue regardless of the year, model or mileage of car. It seems to be a part that was used in many Ford vehicles and should have been a recall for any vehicle.

My car has a faulty latch system in the driver side door. My door is completely shut however the warning light for an open door stays on and I am unable to lock my car while driving as this light stays on. This is also causing my lights to stay on as well. This is a safety concern because I have 2 children and I cannot lock my doors from the inside of my car while the car is in motion. I hit the lock button and since my car is showing that there is an open door, they immediately unlock and stay that way, which is a safety issue not only for myself but my children as well. I’ve had this issue for a couple of years now and went online and saw that several other ford edge owners have had the same problem.

Just bought used 12/4/23 from private party. Transmission fluid leaking on exhaust pipe, seen and documented by tech at Kendall Ford Anchorage, AK. Vehicle was brought in for Transmission and Engine Oil Service 91,000 approximate. Seems to coming from rear of transmission, where shaft goes in. Leaks on hot exhaust, burns and smoke comes in heater vent, Can see some smoke coming up from under hood when parked and smell burning fluid when outside. The leak is not excessive, as im watching the transmission fluid level. But my wife is now afraid of a fire. This seems to be an on going problem with the Ford Edge and other vehicles. Please help resolve this, we cant afford a repair of this large amount from what ive read for repair. Thank you, [XXX] & [XXX] Kenai, AK. Car started having issues when trying to brake it was as if the pedal was harder to push and the car was slowing but hard to stop. Also a hissing noise from the brake booster area above where feet are on driverside as well as a high litch squeal once pressed down to a certain point. Its only been getting worse even after changing brakes and rotors. The vehicle just doesnt stop when pressures applied so i have to push pedal hard and while the car doesnt stop the brake sometimes seems to kick in and jerk to a stop but u have to apply alot of pressure to pedal and can hear a hissing noise the whole time using the breaks

Brake Booster failure - Very difficult to slow/stop vehicle. An older person or someone with poor leg strength would have a very difficult time stopping the vehicle and chances for crash would be greatly increased.

Component: Brake Booster/Master cylinder Available for inspection: yes Safety: Hissing sounds from brakes; have difficultly stopping; either the brake pedals become extremely hard and difficult to press down or soft that there is not enough pressure to stop. Either way it is extremely dangerous. On several occasions I have almost ran into traffic or hit another car because I haven't been able to stop. Warning: No warning light. My warning was running into oncoming traffic due to the inability to stop become of the brakes. Timing: The past month
