Engine wiring harness. Apparently engineeed, designed or installed poorly. With normal use, multiple points are subject to wearing of insulation or wire fracture. While on cruise, transmission went into limp mode. Dealer verified exposed wire, replacing entire harness.Chevy has service bulletins out on the issue but nothing to the customer.

I pulled off the interstate after traveling 70mph with cruise control on. I then pulled into the Walmart parking lot and started to enter a parking spot rolling at 5mph and accidentally brushed the resume cruise control and the truck shot me forward and I came within inches of the car ahead of me because the truck suddenly started accelerating.

After crossing over a rough part of the road at an intersection, I heard a noise. I pulled over to visually inspect and I didn't see anything obvious. Since I was on the interstate, I drove to the next exit to find a safe place to park. The noise stopped but my brakes completely failed. I pressed the brakes and there was no pressure behind the pedal. I used the parking brake to come to a stop and drove very slowly to a store nearby. The brake pressure eventually returned. Had the truck towed to a GM dealership that can do Medium Duty repairs. I received a text that my brake hardware and pads were missing and a caliper was leaking. After this was repaired, I was told the brake hose needed replacing because the truck pulled to the left when the brakes were applied. After this was replaced, I was told the brakes were "spongy" and I needed a new Master Cylinder. This, to me, is a catastrophic failure of the brakes and could have been very dangerous if it happened at highway speed. At this point, I requested the Master Cylinder and caliper to be retained while I get with Chevrolet about this. No warning lamps came up at all. I drove slowly over the rough patch of road to get onto the interstate on-ramp, as I knew about this patch of road and always drove slowly over it.

GM Is refusing to pay or provide towing for this recall. I live in southeast [XXX] and they are paying to barge the truck from here to [XXX] but refuse to pay for towing from the barge to the dealership and from the dealership back to the barge line in [XXX]: they said I live 1.5 miles from the barge line. I live 900 miles away from the [XXX] barge line. They are refusing to pay for a tow that is THEIR fault. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)

Conditions: Night, Raining, apx 50*F. Traveling on the highway apx 70 MPH with a loaded 18ft enclosed trailer (within the advertised towing limits of the truck). I accelerated to pass a tractor trailer. the transmission attempted to downshift, resulting in a loud bang and shudder. I attempted to accelerate once more. This time the transmission tried to shift, the rear wheels stopped turning for a second or two, resulting in a slide and requiring steering input to maintain the vehicle traveling straight. The rear wheels unlocked and began turning again. I coasted down to apx 55mph and attempted to maintain a lower speed until the next exit. While trying to maintain a safe speed for surrounding traffic, the transmission attempted to downshift. This time resulting in apx 4-6 seconds of the rear wheels stopping and skidding, resulting in a slide situation requiring steering input to remain in control of the truck/ trailer while the rear tires slid. I stopped on the shoulder, locked the truck into gears no higher than 4th gear and drove to the nearest dealer without further issues.

On XXX, at midday, in the Haggen parking lot in [XXX], I unlocked the passenger door with the silver exterior door button. At that moment the side-view camera display glitched, and afterwards the exterior door buttons stopped working. The key fob and the interior door buttons still worked. Restarting the infotainment system did not fix it, and the passive-unlock setting was not the cause. After I left the truck locked and asleep for about 20 minutes, the buttons and cameras both worked again. I use the side cameras for lane centering while driving. - #11770290October 10, 2026FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
On October 9, 2026, I was driving my 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 RST on a rural road at approximately 35–54 mph when the engine unexpectedly shut off without warning. There were no warning messages or indications of a problem before the engine stopped running. The instrument cluster remained illuminated, but the vehicle lost engine power and propulsion. I was able to bring the vehicle to a stop safely without an accident or injuries. However, the sudden loss of engine power while traveling at road speed created a serious safety concern. After the vehicle stopped, I attempted to restart the engine. The engine would crank normally but would not start. Diagnostic trouble code P129F was identified using a scan tool and was also displayed through the Chevrolet application. The vehicle is currently at an authorized Chevrolet dealership for diagnosis and repair. Based on the diagnostic code and reported symptoms, a failure of the fuel pump control module is suspected, although the dealership has not yet confirmed the cause. I am concerned that a sudden, unexpected engine shutdown could result in a collision, particularly if this failure occurs at highway speeds, in heavy traffic, or in a situation where a driver cannot safely move the vehicle off the roadway. I am requesting that NHTSA document this incident and evaluate whether a potential fuel pump control module defect presents a safety risk to owners of 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 vehicles.

My brake rotors are damaged to the point where they have to be replaced at 36,000 miles this doesn’t sound right to me because I had the same truck in a 2018 and I had over 60,000 miles on it and the brakes were still like new. I was just trying to find out if they’re having a problem with their brake rotors. I never told anything with it and I know other people that tow with the same truck and they have twice as many miles and their brakes are still good.

Driving down interstate about 65 the light on dash came on stated low engine oil stop engine at same time could smell smoke and saw smoke coming from under hood. I pulled over as fast as I could and by that time the smoke was pouring out from under hood. I turned engine off and I popped hood got out and slowly opened in case was on fire. It was not but I saw oil all over my engine and dripping from under vehicle. The front tire was covered with oil as well as down side of my truck. I saw where I pulled over a long oil streak. Oil kept leaking oil and large puddle formed under engine on side of road.

- #11769307October 6, 2026TIRES:TREAD/BELT
While towing a 24-foot Spartan enclosed racing trailer carrying a Bandolero race car and related equipment on [XXX], I began to feel a slight vibration from the vehicle or trailer. At first, I believed the vibration may have been caused by the road surface, but it steadily intensified. I slowed the truck to approximately 50 mph and activated my hazard lights. I could not initially determine whether the vibration was coming from the truck or trailer. Because I was concerned it could be tire-related, I monitored the truck’s tire-pressure display while my boyfriend monitored the trailer tire pressures. Neither system showed an abnormal pressure reading at that time. Shortly afterward, I heard a loud bang and safely moved onto the highway shoulder. After stopping, I observed that one of the truck tires had lost air pressure. The truck’s tire-pressure monitoring system then displayed zero pressure for that tire. I walked along the shoulder and found the tire tread completely separated from the tire casing several hundred feet behind the vehicle. I recovered and retained the separated tread. The tire remaining on the wheel/rim was missing the tread section that I recovered, indicating a complete tread delamination. The tires were installed on the vehicle when I purchased it on XXX. The vehicle had slightly more than 47,000 miles at the time of the incident, and the tires were original equipment tires. I took the vehicle to an OEM body shop for damage estimates. The body shop measured the remaining tire tread and determined that the tire wear was within reasonable specifications. The estimated total damage to the vehicle is $9,920.60. My [XXX] son and my boyfriend were traveling with me at the time of the incident. Although we were able to move safely to the shoulder, this tire failure created a serious safety concern while towing a loaded enclosed trailer on the highway. Tire size: LT275/65R20. - #11766576September 24, 2026SERVICE BRAKES, STEERING
Tried to start the Chevy Silverado 1500 remotely and it was unresponsive using the remote start key fob. The truck was then started with the push start button inside the truck. There was no instrument panel errors or warnings when the truck was first started and began driving it. Upon taking the truck out of park and starting to drive, the brake pedal was extremely hard to push, and the steering was extremely hard to turn. It took a long distance to stop the truck while moving very slowly in a parking lot. The truck was also very hard to steer as if all power steering assistance had failed. The truck was put in park. Immediately after the truck was shifted into park, the instrument panel reported ABS, powertrain and steering column lock errors. After being turned off for 20 minutes, it was restarted and the only error on the instrument panel was a check engine light. The brake pedal pressure returned to normal and the breaking started working. The steering was now easy to turn and working as well. It was drove slowly, a very short distance to the dealership where it has been for the last week and a half. They have diagnosed and replaced the ECM, ABS and master cylinder. They continue to receive braking system error codes.

The contact owns a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed during a rainstorm, the contact discovered that the tailgate had inadvertently opened. The contact attempted to close the tailgate, but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who determined that the exterior touchpad switch assemblies needed to be replaced. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 24V060000 (Latches/Locks/Linkages); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure by phone. The failure mileage was approximately 63,000.

My vehicle was serviced for the Chevy L87 recall a couple of thousand miles ago. It currently has 13343 miles on it and I was driving down the road and then all of a sudden the engine just stopped and my vehicle lost power leaving me stranded on a state route XXX in [XXX], which is a dangerous route with nowhere to pull off. This issue has been going on for years now and Chevy needs to make this right. INFORMATION REDACTED PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6)
