- #11494758November 23, 2022SERVICE BRAKES
The brake pedal sticks down during interior high temperatures (generally during the summer months when parked in the sun) and causes the brakes to drag. It appears this is a known defect (nhtsa# 10141352) gm technical service bulletin#PIC 5692D. I just want the NHTSA to be aware of another vehicle exhibiting this condition. I will be repairing the vehicle myself.

Malfunction of a cooper CS5 Ultra Touring tire 245/4519. I noticed that the PSI of front drivers tire was low. Put air in tire, one week later the PSI was low again. I was vacationing in the mountains, so I started down the mountain to go to the nears gas station for air. I had driving apex. 2 miles when I heard the sound of a flat tire. I had to pull over on the side of this narrow road and wait for road side assistance. This was very hazardous since my car was in a blind spot to on coming traffic. When I did make it to a tire center, I was told the tire was not repairable because the belt had separated from the tire. Now this morning I have a second tire that needs air. I will get this tire checked immediately. This tires have low mileage on them and the belt should not be separating. Cooper dids to recall this tires. Incident 10/28/2022

In October 2021, while driving, the car lost power. Several indicators displayed at the time, including: • Service Engine • Service Stabilitrak • Service Antilock Brakes • Service Transmission I managed to pull the car to the side of the road and restart it, but it was stuck in first gear. After several restarts it performed normally. I took the car to Miller & Sons, they told me they could not find a code and the car was performing normally at that point so there was nothing they could do. They told me if the car did it again, to bring it in immediately so they could get a code for the malfunction. Two weeks later, the same malfunction occurred, I took the car directly to Miller & Sons. Once again I was told they could not find a code or problem and I was sent away again. The third time this malfunction occurred, I was driving at 40 miles an hour and the car began to accelerate on its own. I could not brake, shift to park, shift to neutral, steer or apply the emergency brake. After about 15 seconds, the car shut down in the middle of the road. It could have caused death or seriously bodily injuries to me or others. At this point I had the car towed to Miller & Sons. I am told that while test driving the vehicle, it also accelerated on the mechanic [XXX], almost causing an accident again. At this point the told me they found 60 codes dating all the way back to the first incident, but they still did not know the problem, they replaced the Transmission Control Module in hopes that would solve the problem. It did not. In August, the same thing happened. They replaced the transmission control module again. About a month ago (September 13) it happened two more times. It is still sitting at Miller & Sons. This time I contacted GM for some assistance. I was using the messaging system (case number [XXX]) I was told a senior advisor was assigned to my case and that a TAC team would consult with the dealership to diagnose and correct the problem.... I was driving the LaCrosse in my neighborhood. A few minutes into the trip, I noticed a burning kind of smell. Then I saw smoke coming from the left side under the hood. I pulled over to the side of the road and exited the car to check, but the smoke quickly got worse and became flames. I then called 911.The police and fire department responded, and they were able to extinguish the fire. However, the front part of the car including the hood area and the passenger compartment was completely burned. It was a clear and mild summer day. And the car was travelling at relatively low speed on a local street, nothing unusual until the car suddenly started to smell, smoke, and burn. From the first burning smell to the car fire it took only a few minutes. The fire department investigation report states that the origin of the fire was "Left front of the engine compartment behind the left headlight and before the battery", and " the most likely cause was an electrical failure." I am the original owner of the car. It had been regularly maintained. The car had about 87,750 miles. It had not been involved in any accident.

I am the Fire Marshal in Ashtabula Ohio. Fire occurred in the driver's seat cushion. The origin of the fire was determined to be below the seat covering in the area of the springs and foam padding. the only competent ignition sources in the area are a computer module, power seat motors and seat heater coil. The computer module was eliminated during the investigation leaving only the heater and position motors as competent ignition sources. A review of repair records indicates the owner report power seat issues to the dealer in June 2021 that went unresolved. The dealer records indicate they were unable to replicate the failure. The fire self-extinguished upon consumption of all available oxygen; however, the smoke damage has resulted in complete destruction of interior. As a Certified Fire Investigator, I feel obligated to report a potential problem involving ignition of passenger vehicles. Vogue Custom Built Radial VIII Tire size: 235/50/18 While driving on the Highway, I experienced a Tire blowout on my front passenger side of the vehicle that also led to vehicle damage. I have pictures of the tire post blowout with a gaping hole in the middle of the tire and the tread completely fallen off. This Incident put my life and others at risk as I was forced to pull my vehicle to the side border of the highway to avoid incoming traffic. This Incident occurred 7 months after I had my tires serviced at my local tire shop where they verified that 2 of the 4 tires were experiencing splitting on the sidewall and tread. I got those 2 tires replaced with the same vogue tires and they were moved to the back of the vehicle. The other 2 tires were ok to drive on. This background information highlights what I believe is a manufacturer's defect with the tendency that these Vogue tires have to split and deteriorate. I believe that the front passenger tire that blew out on the highway, likely experienced the same effects that required me to replace 2 of the tires just 7 months ago. These tires are dangerous for anyone to drive on due to this manufacturer's defect. They have less than 60,000 miles of mileage on them, they were properly inflated, and I did not receive any vehicle warning signs or see any indicators on the exterior of the tire. I am also a person that services their vehicle routinely. My hope is to help others avoid the risks that come with these tires which could have cost myself and others their lives.

I have been dealing with this problem for over 7 months now. My Buick Lacrosse '12, while driving it (doesn't matter the speed) all of the suddent it starts locking and unlocking, immediately after the speed drops and the car comes to a complete stop. I have little children that ride with me in the car- while driving on the interstate this is a HUGE LIFE HAZARD, because I can't control when the car stops. I have taken it to multiple shops, non a single one of them can find anything wrong. No codes come up when they check for it. This is beyond frustrating. I see other Buicks have been recalled due to this issues. PLEASE HELP!! I am seriously concerned that me and my family could have a fatal accident because my car stops on the interstate with out warning. My name is [XXX], my husband is [XXX]- contact cell [XXX]. Car has 4 trips on rollback and one driving in for transmission problems 3 trips was when coming to a stop the car will will slide to stop almost making us hit dash of car each time there would be a warning about a minute before service transmission . One of the Trip for transmission service light I did drive it in. The car went in yesterday for transmission service again. My thinking of this is what would happen if I were driving 70 MPH and the car locked up what would happen to me and the people around me.
