The contact owns a 2025 Buick Encore GX. The contact stated while driving on several occasions at undisclosed speeds and attempting to depress icons on the infotainment system, the screen froze. The vehicle was taken to a dealer on five occasions where it was diagnosed that the infotainment system needed to be reprogramed, and the radio needed to be replaced. The contact was also notified by the mechanic that the infotainment system screen needed to be replaced but the part was on back order. The vehicle was repaired but the failure persisted. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100.

The contact owns a 2021 Buick Encore GX. The contact stated that after parking the vehicle and shifting to park(P), the vehicle failed to immediately shut off. During the failure the message "Shift to Park" was displayed. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent. The cause of the failure was not yet determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure, but no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 57,000.

STRUCTURE
The contact owns a 2024 Buick Encore GX. The contact stated there was an abnormally strong foul odor inside the vehicle, and there was mildew and mold inside the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer to be inspected. The dealer informed the contact that the failure had occurred due to the design of the vehicle. The dealer informed the contact that water and debris were entering the vehicle through the gap between the windshield and the cowl. The dealer was currently cleaning the vehicle with mold removal products; however, no assistance was provided to correct the gap between the windshield and the cowl. The dealer advised the contact to park the vehicle in a garage. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that her daughter was asthmatic and was taken to the hospital because her asthma might have been triggered by the mold and mildew inside the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 6,500.

LANE DEPARTURE: ASSIST
I had just drove the car off the lot. On my way home there is this violent grip of the steering wheel pulling me into oncoming traffic. Then again to the right towards a telephone pole. During another casual drive, there was a loud clunk and another violent grip of the steering wheel to the left towards the double yellow line, my son was driving the car at the time. This has happened numerous times. I explained to the dealer that lane assist is suppose to keep you on the road not pull you off the road. There were no lights showing on the dash. Unfortunately this happens randomly so it did not happen when the car went in for service repair at Turner Buick. Turner Buick did not find the cause and did no repairs. If I leave lane assist turned off my car is fine however it is a brand new and its a feature I am not able to use. My car is available for inspection upon request. This is my first Buick and I am disappointed.

FUEL/PROPULSION SYSTEM
Turbo charger has gone out 4 times since I purchased it in April 2021. I have been on the interstate driving and suddenly my car slows down and a message that says “engine power reduced” comes up and my check engine light comes on. This is dangerous as I was on the interstate with 18 wheelers and could’ve been rear ended and badly hurt or killed. My grandchildren could’ve been in the car with me. When this happens the vehicle slows down considerably and does not accelerate properly. I have to drive in the right lane at a much slower speed putting myself and others in danger. Leachman Buick in Bowling Green, KY has repaired the car twice. Campbell Chevrolet in the same city has repaired it twice and it is currently at this dealership due to the engine power situation occurring again. This has caused me severe inconvenience as I have had to drop my car at the dealership several times in the past few weeks and rearrange my schedule as a rental car has not been provided. Campbell Chevrolet repaired the vehicle a few weeks ago and the check engine light and reduce power message was back on within 6 hours of them initially completing the repair. Two weeks or less it was the waste gate actuator solenoid that was replaced but the engine message and check engine light are back on. I am VERY FRUSTRATED at having to jump through hoops regarding this vehicle. I own the Bluegrass Edition model and it is obvious that something serious is wrong with the car and Buick needs to recall the car IMMEDIATELY. It is either a lemon or something else is causing the turbo charger to repeatedly fail. I have taken the car to TWO different dealerships and neither one of them have been able to rectify the issue long term. The vehicle needs to have a TOTAL diagnostic test on EVERYTHING relating to the engine and power system. PLEASE LOOK INTO HAVING THIS VEHICLE RECALLED AS I DO NOT WANT TO LOSE MY LIFE ON THE INTERSTATE DUE TO REDUCED ENGINE POWER AND MY CAR AUTOMATICALLY SLOWING DOWN!!

SEAT BELTS, UNKNOWN OR OTHER
No accident just a concern. On my Buick the clasp for the front set belts are buried between the seat and center console. Making the fastening and unfasting very difficult. The further the seat is forward the more difficult it is. I guess my concern is this over sight may hamper the use of them or possibly cause entrapment during a stressful situation. 2022 Buick Encore GX its involvement in the following critical issues: 1)especial coverage N242484750 turbo replacement not cost. Recall A222379711 (ECM Oil Pressure Sensor software)Malfunction. – A known issue where the Engine Control Module (ECM) fails to properly clear the permanent status of DTC P0521 (Engine Oil Pressure Sensor Performance). Turbocharger Failure – A separate cause-efect related defect in which the turbocharger in my vehicle has failed, a Check Engine Light (MIL) activation/deactivation and a reduction in engine performance(*screen critical message.) resulting in a loss of power and critical malfunction that need replacement 3)Failure of GM and the Dealership to Provide Proper Documentation – Despite GM authorizing and the dealership supposedly completing only the recall software update. I have not received the necessary official documentation or compliance certification that the repair was performed, which is required by my state's Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) for emissions and registration purposes.I was not noticed recall GM’s Improper Denial of Warranty Coverage for Turbocharger Failure – GM has refused to cover the turbocharger replacement under warranty,especial coverage N242484750 citing that my vehicle has a salvage title. However, my past accident only caused exterior damage and did not affect the engine, it passed DMV and all state verifications, accident has not relation or affectation with turbocharger, or any mechanical components related to this recall. If the turbo failure is a result of this recall and a factory defect, GM extended coverage at warranty and is still responsible, regardless of the title status. 2. The Relationship Between ECM Oil Pressure Sensor Issue & Turbocharger Failure exist cause sending incorrect amounts of oil to them While GM has treated these as separate issues, there is strong evidence to suggest that the ECM oil pressure issue directly contributed to the premature turbocharger failure.

POWER TRAIN
The contact owns a 2022 Buick Encore GX. The contact stated that while shifting to park, the message "Shift to Park" remained on the instrument panel. The door locks failed to unlock automatically causing the contact to have to unlock the door manually. The following day the vehicle failed to start immediately. The contact stated that several attempts were made to start the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a certified mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the gear shifter was not responding as needed. Additionally, the vehicle was idling rough. The mechanic informed the contact that the failure was related to Technical Service Bulletin: 23/NA/119 with NHTSA ID Number: 11009103 (Power Train) and referred the contact to the dealer. The dealer was contacted and confirmed that the vehicle was not included in the TSB and that the gear shifter repair was not covered under the warranty. The vehicle had not been repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and confirmed that the VIN was not covered under warranty, TSB, or recall. The failure mileage was 43,132.

On 10/21/2024 the main gauge cluster began flickering and lasted that way for several days while GM had part on back order. Then on 11/9/2024 the gauge cluster went completely out while driving at night with no indication of speed or status. The incident was very disorienting but did not cause an incident. GM has been waiting on the part since 10/28/2024 with the latest delivery expected in Feb 2025. Each month the part's expected arrival slips several weeks, and our confidence is low that the part will be available in Feb.

The contact owned a 2023 Buick Encore. The contact stated that while the vehicle was in park and shifting into the Drive position, the accelerator pedal was lightly depressed when the vehicle violently accelerated forward. No warning light illuminated. The vehicle struck several trees and crashed into an unknown concrete object in the roadway where it came to a stop. It was unknown if a police report was filed. The driver sustained injuries to the left arm that needed stitches and a fractured elbow. The front seat passenger sustained 7 fractured ribs and a fractured leg. The rear seat passenger sustained a laceration to the leg. Medical attention was sought for all 3 occupants in the vehicle. The vehicle was deemed a total loss and was towed to an unknown location. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 18,000.

2022 Buick Encore GX - Reported this already via #11618957 or 9-13811484283 with Buick. Shifter and connector were stating "Place car in park" even when car was turned off. Radio would not shut off & would continue to beep. The part was on back order for over 1 month. Car could not be driven. Transmission light would be on display. Friday, Nov 29th received call part was finally in. Car has been fixed HOWEVER since this is not a recall the monies are coming out of my 87yr old fathers acct. This car only has 24,000 miles. I'm told by dealer unless a recall we have to pay. The dealer, Sid Dillon in Blair, NE had many cars with this same issue. The shifter & connector were bad. Is there a way a recall can be done on this issue? Trying to escalate this within GM as well. Thank you

My SUV states shift to park, but I already have it in park and it will not shut off. I have to keep starting it up for it to shut-off. Also when I go to the gas station to fill my SUV up with gas and try to start it up it will not start. I keep trying to start it up and after about 10 to 15 minutes it finally starts.

The contact's girlfriend owned a 2021 Buick Encore. The contact stated that while his girlfriend was driving at 20 MPH, an abnormal, snapping sound emitted from the vehicle as the steering wheel independently shifted to the right and crashed into two parked vehicles. The contact stated that the suspension warning light appeared on the instrument panel after the failure and later discovered that the vehicle's suspension had detached. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. The contact's girlfriend was taken to the hospital where she was treated for a laceration on her left forearm which required nine stitches. She also suffered severe bruising to both arms, elbows, and hips. No other injuries were reported. A police report was filed. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V633000 (Suspension). The vehicle was initially towed to an independent tow yard and later to an independent body shop. The insurance company later deemed the vehicle a total loss. The manufacturer was notified of the failure; the contact was given a case number and an investigation into the failure has been started. The failure mileage was approximately 76,000.

POWER TRAIN
Get shift to park worning when in part. Lights stay on and worning signal sounds. Have to keep fooling with shifter to stop. GM seems not willing to do anything with this problem and parts to fix are on back order with no time for availability. Repair is around $560.00. From what I can find out , this has been an on going problem with GM autos. Please help

The check engine light will come on with engine power reduced, code reads turbo under boost, The car will stay in limp mode and make it difficult to get out of traffic there is no warning before the car completely loses power and goes into limp mode!!
