(1) Passenger airbag periodically turns off when seat is occupied. This surfaces major safety concerns. (2) Technology package - Apple car play turns black and disconnects often. As someone working from their car, this needs to stay connected in order to avoid safety concerns of needing to look down at my phone.

Over the last year or so, the halogen headlights have gradually become so dim that visibility at night is severely impaired. Dealer has tested all electrical components and the bulbs have been replaced, with no improvement in visibility. Dealer recommendation is to replace both headlight assemblies at a quoted cost over $2500. I have found other owners complaining of the same degradation of visibility with non-HID equipped models so I don't believe this to be an isolated case.

The contact owns a 2020 Acura RDX. The contact stated that while the vehicle was parked at her residence, a loud sound was heard coming from outside. Upon inspection, the contact noticed that the rear windshield had shattered and there were glass shards on the driveway and inside of the vehicle. There was no impact to the rear windshield that could have caused it to shatter. An auto glass company was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that parts were on backorder. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was referred to the manufacturer. The vehicle was not repaired and remained at the dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened. The manufacturer informed the contact that the cold temperature caused the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 19,000.

On Feb 14, the back window exploded and shattered on its own, additional the fron windshield was cracked from one side to the next. I came out of my office to find a hole in the back window, shattered glass every where . No one was in or around the vehicle, no vandalism or impact occured to the car. Now the remaining pieces of shattered glass are in the door which could not be removed. This is the 1st car I have ever had to have this type of issue. I have been a loyal Honda car owner for over 15 years. I lease this car in Sept 2021, I'm not sure why the window would be exploding on its own.

We purchased our 2013 Acura RDX new and have owned it since. After about 2 years, I noticed that the Low Beam lighting was not as bright as it use to be (it never seemed exceptionally bright in the first place). Over the next few years, it appeared to be getting worse. I replaced the bulbs with the appropriate aftermarket, higher lumen rated halogen bulbs, that improved it a little bit, but not very much. The low beam lighting was much worse than my 2004 Acura TL at time. I have also read the reports from other owners and my mechanic also received similar complaints from RDX customers. I am taking my car in today to have the headlight assemblies replaced and installing aftermarket halogen bulbs ($>1,000) to hopefully improve exterior lighting so we can drive the car safely at night. Note, we have not taken our 2013 Acura RDX out at night in over 5 years as it's just not safe.

Headlamp assemblies have failed due to apparent manufacturer defect. The defects are so significant that the vehicle becomes unsafe to drive at night, and even brand new bulb replacements have no effect. The entire headlamp assemblies are defective and must be replaced. These are known issues, and the predominent complaints listed not only on replacement part websites on the internet, but in NHTSA's own website for this vehicle - even more then the recalled airbags, are all specifically for this exact same issue being suffered by numerous complainants, but for some reason NHTSA has failed to recognize and enforce a recall on it. Acura/Honda has not even issued a service bulletin on it to allow its dealers to repair it, despite it being a known issue, and Honda Financial Services even deceitfully denies warranty claims, even lying about contract terms to avoid coverage. This is a serious safety issue affecting scores of owners of this vehicle, including the 2013, 2014, and 2015 model years, as reflected on the internet and in complaints. Owners may not even realize they are driving with a defective headlight until they get into or cause an accident. This needs to be flagged as an urgent RECALL requirement.

The contact's wife owns a 2021 Acura RDX. The contact stated that there was a crack on the rear windshield. There was no impact to the rear windshield that could have caused the crack. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed that the rear windshield needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000.

I got in my vehicle, closed the driver door and heard a loud "pop" followed by the sound of glass falling. Turned around and saw a giant hole in the middle of my rear windshield. Got out to investigate and noticed the rear window was completely shattered all the way to the edges of the glass. There are multiple reports of this happening and yet Acura USA refuses to acknowledge it. Instead, forcing us to file an insurance claim when in fact this is faulty glass, and should be covered by Acura. It's 2022, a simple google search will show how common this issue has become. Acura needs to be held accountable and something needs to be done about this immediately.

The headlights have gotten progressively worse over time to the point I cannot see. The light does not extend more than a feet feet and very dimly. Oncoming traffic is flashing brights at me as if i have no lights on. It is extremely dangerous and I have nearly had accidents.

Rear windshield spontaneously shattered while car was idle. Seems to be a common issue especially in the cold. Outside temp was about 20F when it happened.

See attached letter for details. Incident date below reflects the VIN I currently own, when testing identified the safety-related defect. Accident details from previous same model. The same headlamps were the subject of the July 14, 2014 NHTSA Acura ILX Electrical & Lights Recall: 14V323000 on the 2013-2014 Acura ILX model. Yet, Acura continued to use these headlamps and failed to rectify the defect across its model lineup. Instead, the inherently faulty engineering, material, and manufacturing was destined to slowly degrade the reflective surface of the projector cup and lens under the heat output of the low beam halogen bulb that was, by Acura design, the automatic daytime running lights that remain on whenever the engine is running.

Headlights are very dim and make it extremely difficult to drive in the dark. Can barely see a few feet in front. Auto shops have commented how dim the lights are and have changed to the brightest bulbs and still there is no change. This makes driving conditions dangerous

The low beam headlights on my 2013 Acura RDX have become so dim that it is dangerous to drive the vehicle at night. I am the original owner. The vehicle has been driven approximately 70,000 miles, has never been in an accident and is in excellent condition otherwise. A Honda dealership recently diagnosed the problem and advised that the headlight assemblies would need to be replaced at a cost of > $2,000. Other owners of this vehicle have reported experiencing the same problem on car forums and in reports to the NHTSA and identified the cause as deterioration of the reflective lining of the projector lens. This is a serious safety issue that the manufacturer should be held responsible for addressing.

For some unknown reason while car was in garage the rear window blew out. I have been told that this is an ongoing problem with this vehicle and manufacturer has no replacement windows available and no time frame when it can be replaced. According to glass replacement company my insurance contacted to replace our window there are hundreds of blown out windows of same vehicle also waiting on replacement glass. I think Acura should put out recall on item. Thank God our vehicle was parked and being driven at the time of occurrence. Any and all help with this matter would be greatly appreciated. I also reached out to Acura and awaiting response since now I have to probably pay months of payments and have no car to drive. Thank you again [XXX] INFORMATION Redacted PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

Low beam headlights have gotten so weak it is dangerous to drive after dark. Lights are working, but ouput from the lamp is greatly diminished. This is NOT involving the clear exterior cover to the headlights. Dealership service department confirmed lights working and recommends replacement of both side headlight assemblies, at cost of $2,000 plus.

Vehicle is 2014 with 130K miles. We noticed that the headlights are getting dimmer to the point where it is unsafe to drive at night. The internal low beam reflector lens is fogged up preventing the headlight to light the road adequately. Called Acura dealer in Greenville SC and spoke to the service manager on 2/4/2022. He told me the heat from the headlamp is intense and the coating is starting to de-laminate causing the headlights to dim. He said Acura is aware of the problem but no recalls have been issued. He told me that Acura would not cover the repair and it would cost $2400 to replace both headlight assemblies. Many people have reported this problem but no recall has been issued....yet. This vehicle is unsafe to drive at night. I will be replacing the headlights at my own expense and keeping the headlight assemblies for further inspection if required. Dimming headlights is a slow process and we really started noticing it about a year ago.
