The 2027 Nissan Armada is set to arrive with a significant powertrain overhaul, featuring a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine and a 9-speed automatic transmission. This marks a departure from the previous V8, delivering increased horsepower and torque across the full-size SUV lineup. The new VR35DDTT 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine powers the 2027 Armada. This engine produces 425 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 516 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm in the SL, Platinum, and Platinum Reserve trims. The performance-oriented NISMO variant receives an upgraded version of this engine, generating 460 horsepower at 5,600 rpm while maintaining 516 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm.

All 2027 Armada models are equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission, which includes paddle shifters for manual control. Drive configurations include rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive for most trims, with the PRO-4X and NISMO models exclusively featuring four-wheel drive. The Armada maintains a maximum towing capacity of 8,500 pounds, supported by a Class IV tow hitch receiver and available integrated trailer brake controller on higher trims.

Chassis and Technology Enhancements

The 2027 Armada utilizes an independent double wishbone suspension system at both the front and rear. Higher trims, including Platinum, PRO-4X, NISMO, and Platinum Reserve, offer an Adaptive Electronic Air Suspension system for improved ride comfort and handling.
