Honda Racing Corporation USA (HRC US) is set to showcase its racing heritage at the 2026 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, highlighted by the North American debut of the Honda Civic Type R HRC Concept. This concept model, first seen at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon, has been confirmed for development in the U.S. market, incorporating HRC technologies and racing driver expertise.
Civic Type R HRC Concept and Performance Parts
The Honda Civic Type R HRC Concept's development for the U.S. market signifies an effort to bring racing-honed refinement to a production-oriented model. This concept integrates technologies and insights from HRC's racing programs and drivers.
Alongside the concept, HRC US will launch its first line of HRC Performance Parts for both on- and off-road applications. The initial offerings include lightweight forged wheels, exhaust systems, and a short-throw shifter, all designed by HRC engineers to enhance the performance of Honda and Acura production vehicles such as the Civic Type R, Integra Type S, and Passport TrailSport.
These HRC Performance Parts will be available starting March 2027 through Honda and Acura dealerships nationwide, as well as the Honda DreamShop. This follows extensive performance and durability testing, including evaluation at Germany's Nürburgring. HRC also plans to display prototypes of future parts at SEMA, which include adjustable coilovers with camber plates and a large Brembo brake kit featuring six-piston calipers.
New Racing Debuts and Display Vehicles
The 2026 SEMA Show will feature the public debut of the Honda Passport Baja Spec Trophy Truck. This vehicle is designed to be the first hybrid-powered Trophy Truck to compete in the SCORE World Desert Championship, boasting over 1,300 peak horsepower from a 2.4-liter twin-turbo V6 and an 800-volt hybrid architecture. Developed with Mason Motorsports and two-time Baja 1000 winner Bryce Menzies, it aims for an overall victory in the Baja 1000.
Supporting this effort are three 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport Baja Chase vehicles, built by HRC to provide race support. These specially prepared SUVs feature HRC-added upgrades like Borla exhaust, HRC dampers, HRC forged aluminum performance wheels by Titan7, an auxiliary power system, a trunk storage drawer system, and a platform roof rack.
Another new display is the Hasport Prelude Club Racer, built by Hasport Performance for time attack events. It features a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine and a six-speed manual transmission sourced from the Honda Civic Type R. Other notable race vehicles on display include the 2026 Aston Martin Aramco Racing Formula One AMR26 with its Honda RA626H power unit, Felix Rosenqvist's 2026 Indy 500-winning Honda IndyCar, and the electrified 2026 Acura ARX-06 GTP Prototype.
HRC Merchandise and Consumer Offerings
For the first time, HRC will offer a range of authentic merchandise and memorabilia directly to SEMA attendees. This includes ultra-limited collectibles such as genuine engine components from the McLaren MP4/5B, which was driven by Gerhard Berger in the 1990 German Grand Prix. A jewelry collection crafted from smaller engine components and premium 1:18 scale models of the legendary Honda RA272 Formula One race car will also be available.
In addition to merchandise, HRC has introduced HRC Formula R engine oil, a new line of full-synthetic passenger car engine oils. Inspired by racing, this oil is designed to deliver wear protection, durability, and performance for Honda and Acura engines, and is available at Honda and Acura dealers.
This SEMA presence underscores HRC US's expanded focus on bringing racing technology and heritage directly to consumers, from performance parts and specialized vehicles to unique memorabilia and engine oils.
