Honda Launches Qualification for Third National Technician Contest

American Honda has opened online qualification for the third edition of its National Technician Contest. This Honda technician contest qualification process identifies top technicians from Honda Powersports dealerships across the United States. Winners will advance to national finals and potentially represent Team USA at the Honda Global Technician Contest in Japan.

National Competition Details

The qualification phase involves a 75-question, multiple-choice online test. This assessment will determine the eight finalists who will proceed to the in-person competition. Four finalists will be selected from the Two-Wheel Division, and four from the Four-Wheel Division.

These eight finalists will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Honda's Training Center in Alpharetta, Georgia. The national finals are scheduled to take place from January 25-29, 2027. During this week-long event, contestants will engage in both on- and off-vehicle challenges.

Technicians will be evaluated based on their technical knowledge, practical technique, adherence to procedures, precision, and overall speed in completing tasks. The two National Champions, one from each division, will each be awarded a prize package valued at $8,000.

Global Representation Opportunity

The competition extends beyond the national level. In the spring of 2027, the six National Champions from the first three editions of the contest will gather to compete for a unique opportunity. This additional challenge will determine the two technicians who will form Team USA.

These selected individuals will then represent the United States at the Honda Global Technician Contest. This international event is slated for October 2027 and will be held in Japan. The global contest provides a platform for Honda's top technicians worldwide to showcase their skills.

Jeremy McGuire, Director of PS&P Sales Operations, noted the contest's success in showcasing technician know-how. He anticipates an even higher level of competition for the third year, given the dual objective of crowning new National Champions and selecting global representatives.
