HondaJet APMG S Upgrade Package Certified for Mexico
HondaJet Classic and APMG owners in Mexico can now enhance their aircraft with the APMG S upgrade package, which includes avionics improvements, the Advanced Steering Augmentation System (ASAS), and a 136-kilogram (300-lb) increase in Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW).

Owners of HondaJet Classic and APMG aircraft in Mexico can now access the HondaJet APMG S upgrade package, following its formal certification by the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC). This upgrade allows these aircraft to incorporate performance and technical advancements previously introduced in newer models, such as the HondaJet Elite S. The availability of the HondaJet APMG S Mexico upgrade expands the operational capabilities for a significant portion of the existing HondaJet fleet.
Expanded Availability and Certification
This upgrade program is now accessible to HondaJet Classic and APMG owners in both the United States and Mexico. The U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) had previously certified the APMG S package in December 2025. The Honda Aircraft Company’s Greensboro, North Carolina Service Center, along with its network of 21 Authorized Service Centers globally, offers the modifications.
In Mexico, AVEMEX serves as the official HondaJet distributor, providing sales, maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services, including the installation of the HondaJet APMG S Mexico upgrade. Honda Aircraft Company is actively pursuing additional international certifications to make the APMG S upgrade package available to more HondaJet customers worldwide.
Key Enhancements of the APMG S Package
The HondaJet APMG S upgrade package integrates new avionics software and hardware. These components are designed to deliver faster processing speeds and support future innovations across the legacy HondaJet fleet. A notable feature included in this upgrade is the Advanced Steering Augmentation System (ASAS), which enhances handling precision and expands the aircraft's crosswind capability.
Beyond avionics, the APMG S modifications provide a 136-kilogram (300-lb) increase in Maximum Takeoff Weight (MTOW) compared to the unmodified legacy HondaJet. This enhancement allows operators to carry an expanded range of useful loads. Additionally, the upgrade introduces Graphical Weight and Balance features, enabling pilots to input loading and fuel data to estimate takeoff and landing weights more efficiently.
Future Outlook and Pre-Owned Options
Honda Aircraft Company has already modified several pre-owned HondaJet aircraft with the APMG S upgrades. These upgraded aircraft are available through the company's pre-owned aircraft program, offering immediate access to the enhanced capabilities for new owners. The continued expansion of the HondaJet APMG S Mexico upgrade reflects an ongoing effort to integrate advanced technology into the existing fleet.
This upgrade ensures that a broader range of HondaJet aircraft can benefit from the latest advancements in performance and operational efficiency. Owners can enhance their aircraft's capabilities, aligning them more closely with the features found in newer HondaJet models.
