2026 BMW X3 M50 xDrive Gains Power, New Black Package
BMW has announced significant updates for the 2026 X3 M50 xDrive, featuring a power increase for its inline-six engine and an exclusive Black Package for enhanced styling. The broader BMW X3 series will also receive interior enhancements, with all changes becoming available from December 2026.

BMW has announced performance and styling enhancements for its 2026 X3 M50 xDrive model, alongside broader interior updates for the entire X3 series. These changes, including a power boost for the M50 xDrive's engine and the introduction of a new Black Package, are scheduled to be available starting December 2026.
Enhanced Performance for X3 M50 xDrive
The 2026 BMW X3 M50 xDrive receives a notable power increase for its 3.0-liter M TwinPower Turbo straight-six petrol engine, which incorporates 48-volt mild hybrid technology. Output rises by 33 kW (45 hp), bringing the total to 326 kW (443 hp). This power upgrade allows the X3 M50 xDrive to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (approximately 0-62 mph) in 4.4 seconds. Utilizing the 1-foot rollout method, the sprint to 100 km/h is achieved in 4.1 seconds.
This performance improvement applies to all 2026 BMW X3 M50 xDrive models and is not dependent on the Black Package. The updated engine also meets the stipulations of the Euro 7 emissions standard.
Exclusive Black Package Styling
An optional Black Package will be offered exclusively for the 2026 BMW X3 M50 xDrive, designed to enhance its dynamic appearance. On the exterior, this package includes 22-inch Polygon 1134 M Black light alloy wheels, which are an inch larger than standard options. The M Sport brake calipers feature a high-gloss black finish and a monochrome M logo, while the M logos and model badges are rendered in high-gloss black with a silver outline.
Inside, the Black Package introduces motorsport-inspired details. It features a carbon look and extensive Alcantara finishes, covering parts of the driver's instrument panel, the area in front of the central display, and the smartphone tray with inductive charging. Alcantara is also used for the door trims and the center console armrest, with an embossed M Logo on the headrests. The specific black Alcantara/Veganza seat covers include blue stitching and piping, complemented by black floor mats with blue piping and an M colors flag. Selected control elements are embellished with BMW Individual CraftedClarity glass application, and the M steering wheel features an exclusive leather airbag impact absorber. These 2026 BMW X3 M50 updates focus purely on aesthetics.
Broader X3 Series Enhancements
Beyond the M50 xDrive, the entire 2026 BMW X3 series will receive targeted interior enhancements starting December 2026. These updates include a PVC Softskin surface in front of the central display and a new stitching pattern on the instrument panel. Ambient lighting will be added to the center console storage compartment and the inside door handles.
Further interior refinements include a redesigned glove box opener and stainless-steel edge guards for the boot sill, though the latter is exclusive to the X3 30e xDrive and X3 M50 xDrive models. All BMW X3 models equipped with the M Sport Package, as well as M Performance models, will feature Dark Silver entry sills with a black M logo. Additionally, the four-cylinder engine in the BMW X3 20 xDrive will now comply with the Euro 7 emissions standard.
These comprehensive 2026 BMW X3 M50 updates and broader X3 series enhancements aim to refresh the model line with improved performance, distinctive styling options, and refined interior features for the upcoming model year.
