BMW Motorrad has announced a series of updates for its 2027 model year lineup, introducing new colors, revised equipment packages, and technical enhancements across various models. These updated motorcycles will be available for order from BMW Motorrad partners starting in August 2026. The changes aim to refine existing models with both aesthetic and functional improvements.

Model-Specific Enhancements

Several BMW Motorrad models are receiving notable updates. The BMW F 900 XR and F 900 R will offer a revised Comfort Package that now includes the M Endurance Chain. For the BMW S 1000 RR, a new Style Edition M Sport will be available in Blackstorm Metallic / M Motorsport, featuring a tinted windscreen and M Forged Wheels. The Sport / Bluestone metallic color scheme will no longer be offered. A USB Charging Port will be integrated into the Dynamic Package and the Edition M Sport, while the M Package will include M Forged Wheels, with M Carbon Wheels as an alternative.

The high-performance BMW M 1000 RR receives a significant upgrade with a new 3rd generation M Motorsport frame as standard. This frame offers improved flex properties, reduces weight by approximately 1.3 kg, and features a wall thickness reduced by about 30%, designed for optimal chassis performance and maximum grip. M Forged Wheels are standard, with M Carbon Wheels as an alternative. New M Track Package and M Track Package II options are introduced, replacing the M Competition Package. These packages for the M 1000 RR include items like the M Endurance Chain, Carbon Package, M Billet Package, and M Carbon Wheels.

The BMW M 1000 XR and M 1000 R also introduce new M Track Package and M Track Package II options, superseding the M Competition Package (or Competition Package for the M 1000 R). These typically bundle performance components such as the M Laptrigger, Carbon Package, M Billet Package, and M Carbon Wheels. The BMW S 1000 R will include a USB Charging Port within its Comfort Package.

Touring and Aesthetic Updates

For touring models, the BMW R 1300 RS and R 1300 R will offer left/right case holders as a factory option. The R 1300 R further benefits from a new Touring Package, which combines left/right case holders with a Central Lock and Central Stand.

The BMW K 1600 GT, K 1600 GTL, K 1600 Bagger, and Grand America models will largely adopt the Style Edition II in Imperial Blue metallic. Specific color discontinuations include Option 719 Blue Ridge Mountain metallic (GT, GTL), Exclusive Gravity Blue metallic (GTL), and Option 719 Ionic Silver metallic (Bagger, Grand America). Special "K 1600 Edition" batches will be available across these models, featuring unique elements like a black/yellow seat bench and yellow wheel tape for the GT, or a new Option 719 Bench Seat in black and Option 719 Forged Wheels for the GTL.

Lastly, the BMW R 12 G/S will offer Style Option 719 and Option 719 II in a new Frozen Brooklyn Grey metallic, replacing Option 719 Sandrover Uni matt.

Availability and Ordering

BMW Motorrad's 2027 model year updates, encompassing these new configurations and options, will be available for order from authorized BMW Motorrad partners globally. Customers can place orders for these updated motorcycles starting in August 2026. This timeline allows for the integration of the new features and aesthetic choices into the production cycle for the upcoming model year.

These comprehensive updates for the 2027 model year reflect BMW Motorrad's ongoing refinement of its motorcycle range. From performance-oriented M models receiving advanced chassis components and revised track packages, to touring bikes gaining enhanced practicality and a wide array of new color and trim options, the changes offer prospective buyers and enthusiasts a refreshed selection across the lineup.
