2026 Audi Q7 Debuts with New V6 Diesel and Advanced Tech

Audi has unveiled the third generation of its Q7 SUV, set to launch in Germany in June 2026 with deliveries beginning in September. The updated model introduces a new 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine with mild-hybrid technology, alongside significant advancements in interior comfort, digital lighting, and driver assistance systems. This new iteration aims to continue the Q7's legacy as a versatile premium SUV.

Performance and Drivetrain Enhancements

The 2026 Audi Q7 will be available with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine featuring MHEV plus technology. This powertrain offers two output levels: 220 kW (299 PS) with 630 Nm of torque, or 180 kW (245 PS) with 500 Nm of torque. The MHEV plus system includes a powertrain generator that can temporarily add up to 18 kW (24 PS) of power, enhancing both efficiency and initial acceleration. An electric-powered compressor also contributes to responsive performance.

Power is delivered through an eight-speed tiptronic transmission to a permanent quattro all-wheel drive system. This setup incorporates a new limited-slip center differential designed to improve traction, steering response, and overall driving dynamics. The standard suspension uses steel springs, with optional adaptive air suspension or adaptive air suspension sport available for increased agility and versatility.

Advanced Interior and Lighting Technology

Inside, the new 2026 Audi Q7 offers flexible seating configurations, starting with a standard five-seat layout. Buyers can also opt for a six-seater with individual second-row seats and two third-row seats, or a traditional seven-seater. All seating positions feature electrical adjustment. A notable interior highlight is the large panoramic sunroof, which now includes switchable transparency across nine segments and integrated illumination with 78 LEDs. When parked, the roof automatically becomes opaque for privacy.

Technological upgrades extend to charging and lighting. The center console provides wireless charging for two smartphones via Qi2.2 standard at 25 watts each, complemented by USB-C fast-charging ports in the second and third rows offering up to 60 watts and 100 watts, respectively. Exterior lighting features optional digital Matrix LED headlights capable of projecting high-resolution patterns and third-generation digital OLED rear lights with communication lighting and up to eight digital signatures. A new projection light in the doors displays a white rhombus, and advanced turn signals project a stylized signal onto the ground to alert other road users.

Driver assistance systems have also been enhanced, including adaptive driving assistant plus for comprehensive support with acceleration, braking, speed, distance, and lane keeping. The 2026 Audi Q7 also introduces a trained parking feature, allowing the vehicle to learn and execute individual parking maneuvers, and a reverse assist function for backing out of confined spaces.

Design, Availability, and Pricing

The exterior design of the new Q7 maintains its commanding presence with distinctive proportions, a high shoulder line, and Audi's signature Singleframe grille. The focus on digital lighting technology allows for expressive and adaptive light signatures, contributing to both aesthetics and safety. New interior material options include stone beige, tamarind brown, and pastel silver for seats, along with premium textile packages and various decorative inlays.

The 2026 Audi Q7 will be manufactured in Bratislava, continuing the production location of previous generations. In Germany, orders will open in June 2026, with initial deliveries expected in September 2026. Pricing for the new Q7 in Germany starts at 87,900 euros for the 180 kW model, while the more powerful 220 kW variant begins at 90,500 euros.
