American Honda, which includes both the Acura and Honda brands, recorded its strongest June sales in five years, alongside robust performance for the second quarter and first half of 2026. The company's June sales climbed 17% to 133,781 units. This growth was supported by a significant increase in passenger car sales and record-setting figures for electrified vehicles.

American Honda Performance Highlights

American Honda posted total sales of 756,920 units in the first half of 2026, marking a 2.4% increase and representing its best first half and quarterly result since 2021. Passenger car sales for American Honda saw a 28% increase in June, contributing to their best June, first half (+14%), and quarter (+20%) in five years. This performance reflects a balanced lineup of sedans and SUVs, including several fuel-efficient models.

Electrified models played a crucial role in these results, with Honda brand hybrids alone achieving record first-half sales of 213,513 units. Overall, hybrid models accounted for approximately 30% of Honda sales, indicating a growing consumer preference for more efficient vehicle options. The company's Vice President of Auto Sales, Lance Woelfer, noted that the value and fuel efficiency of Honda and Acura vehicles are helping to attract and retain customers.

Honda Brand Successes

For the Honda brand, annual sales reached 687,205 units in the first half of 2026, up 2.5%, with a 17% increase in June. The CR-V was a standout performer, securing its position as the #1 SUV in America for 2026, with over 226,114 units sold in the first half. The CR-V also achieved its best-ever first half (+6%), first quarter (+16%), and June (+30%) sales. Hybrid variants represented 55% of CR-V sales in June, setting new records for the model's hybrid sales in the first half, quarter, and June.

Other Honda models also contributed to the strong performance. Passport sales totaled 30,360 units in the first half, marking its best half and quarter ever, with rugged TrailSport trims accounting for over 80% of sales. Light truck sales had their best June (+12%) and quarter (+4.5%) in five years, with strong contributions from the Odyssey (8,481 units) and Ridgeline (4,805 units) in June. HR-V sales were up 7% in June (11,743 units), and Pilot sales increased over 5% (9,668 units) during the same period. Honda passenger car sales jumped 15% year-to-date with 224,231 units, led by the Civic (22,805 units) and Accord, which saw sales up over 32% year-to-date and 41% for the quarter. Hybrid trims made up 43% of Accord sales and 30% of Civic sales.

Acura Brand Momentum

Acura sales increased by 13% in June, totaling 12,313 units, and grew 2% in the first half to 69,715 units, marking its best half since 2023. This growth was driven by both strong customer retention and new customer acquisitions. The brand's gateway models, the ADX and Integra, combined for over 30,000 units sold in the first half for the first time.

The ADX premium gateway crossover had its second-best month of the year in June, with over 3,100 units sold (+58%), reaching 16,554 units year-to-date. The ADX continues to lead its segment, capturing approximately 30% of retail sales. The Integra maintained its strong sales momentum with an 85% increase in June and first-half sales up 42% to over 14,000 units, holding a significant lead in its segment with over 40% of retail sales. Acura SUVs also had their best June in five years. The flagship MDX recorded its fourth consecutive month with over 4,000 units sold, showing a 40% increase in June, a 16% rise in Q2, and a 10% increase for the year 2026.

These strong Acura Honda sales 2026 results underscore American Honda's competitive position in the market, particularly with its focus on value, fuel efficiency, and a diverse product lineup that resonates with consumers.
