Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) has released its U.S. sales figures for June and the second quarter of 2026, indicating a period of sustained growth, particularly within its electrified vehicle segment. The company reported selling 673,971 vehicles across its Toyota and Lexus brands during the second quarter, marking a 1.1 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025.

This performance was notably bolstered by strong demand for electrified models, which represented a significant portion of total sales. TMNA's results reflect ongoing market momentum and strategic inventory management.

Overall Sales Performance

In June 2026, TMNA's total U.S. sales reached 212,793 vehicles, an increase of 10.1 percent on a volume basis compared to June 2025. For the entire second quarter, total sales climbed to 673,971 vehicles, up 1.1 percent from the second quarter of the previous year.

Andrew Gilleland, senior vice president of Automotive Operations Group at Toyota Motor North America, noted that consistent gains were driven by strong demand and careful inventory management. The company maintains a competitive position with some of the lowest incentives among full-line manufacturers.

Electrified Vehicle Momentum

Electrified vehicles were a primary growth driver for Toyota, with sales totaling 122,063 units in June 2026, a substantial 35.0 percent increase over June 2025. These vehicles accounted for 57.4 percent of TMNA's total sales volume for the month. For the second quarter, electrified vehicle sales reached 383,091 units, up 19.5 percent, making up 56.8 percent of the total sales volume.

The Toyota division saw its RAV4 Hybrid achieve an all-time best-ever sales month, contributing to an all-time best-ever electrification mix of 61.4 percent for the division. Across both Toyota and Lexus brands, there are currently 33 electrified vehicle options available, including hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and battery-electric (BEV) models.

Division-Specific Results

Breaking down the performance, the Toyota division reported June sales of 183,627 vehicles, an 11.2 percent increase. Its second-quarter sales reached 585,211 vehicles, up 2.6 percent. Electrified vehicle sales for the Toyota division in June were 110,627 units, up 38.0 percent, and 345,791 units for the quarter, up 21.1 percent.

The Lexus division also experienced notable success, achieving an all-time best-ever June with 29,166 vehicles sold, a 3.9 percent increase. However, Lexus's second-quarter sales were down 7.5 percent, totaling 88,760 vehicles. Despite this, Lexus's electrified vehicle sales showed positive growth, with 11,436 units sold in June (up 11.7 percent) and 37,300 units for the quarter (up 6.5 percent).

These Toyota Q2 2026 sales figures highlight the company's continued focus on its multi-pathway electrification strategy and its ability to meet consumer demand. The consistent growth in electrified vehicle sales across both brands suggests a strong market acceptance for Toyota's diverse range of fuel-efficient and alternative-powertrain options for car buyers.
