The 2027 Kia EV3 electric SUV has officially arrived in U.S. showrooms, positioned as the most accessible model in Kia's growing electric vehicle lineup. Starting at an MSRP just under $30,000, the compact EV SUV offers an EPA-estimated range of up to 321 miles on certain trims, bringing advanced features previously seen in the EV9 to a broader market.

Pricing and Availability

The 2027 Kia EV3 is now available across U.S. dealerships, with a starting manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $29,890 for the Light FWD trim. This price point excludes a $1,495 destination charge applicable to all models. The EV3 lineup includes several trims, each offering different configurations and capabilities.

The Wind trim is available in FWD at $34,990 or AWD at $38,690. The Land trim starts at $38,490 for FWD and $41,690 for AWD. For those seeking enhanced performance, the GT-Line AWD is priced at $43,490, and the top-tier GT AWD model carries an MSRP of $45,890.

Performance and Range

Built on Kia's 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP), the EV3 offers two battery options. The standard-range 58.3 kWh battery, exclusive to the Light FWD model, provides an EPA-estimated 221 miles of all-electric range. Long-range models, including Wind, Land, GT-Line, and GT, utilize an 81.4 kWh battery.

With the larger battery, front-wheel-drive variants achieve an EPA-estimated 321 miles of range, while all-wheel-drive models are rated for 280 miles. DC fast charging allows the 58.3 kWh battery to charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 29 minutes, and the 81.4 kWh battery in about 31 minutes. The EV3 features a native NACS charging port and supports Plug and Charge (PnC) functionality through the Kia Charge Pass in the Kia Access app. The GT model delivers 288 horsepower, an increase from the 261 horsepower found in other AWD EV3 models.

Technology and Features

The EV3's interior features a panoramic display that combines a 12.3-inch instrument cluster, a 5-inch climate display, and a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, totaling nearly 30 inches of display area. This system runs Kia's Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC), which supports over-the-air (OTA) software updates. Available Entertainment and Data Services (EDS) enhance the experience with video streaming options like Netflix and YouTube.

Advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) are standard, including eight airbags and Forward Collision Avoidance (FCA) Assist, which incorporates Junction Turning and Junction Crossing capabilities. Other available ADAS features include Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2), Reverse Parking Collision Avoidance Assist (PCA-R), and Remote Smart Parking Assist (RSPA). The EV3 also offers Vehicle to Load (V2L) capability, allowing the vehicle to power external devices, and available Vehicle to Home (V2H) functionality for bidirectional charging.

The introduction of the 2027 Kia EV3 aims to make electric vehicle ownership more accessible to a wider range of consumers. With its competitive starting price, substantial range, and integration of advanced technology and safety features, the EV3 expands Kia's electric lineup with a compact SUV option for those considering a transition to electric mobility.
