2026 Audi A3 Lineup Receives Interior and Tech Updates

Audi has announced a comprehensive update for its A3 model series, set to arrive at dealerships in mid-September 2026. The refresh focuses on interior design, advanced driver assistance systems, and enhanced digital features across the Sportback, Sedan, and allstreet variants, as well as the performance-oriented S3 and RS3 models. This update aims to integrate more technology and convenience into the compact class.

The 2026 Audi A3 update introduces a new cockpit layout centered around a curved display. This setup includes an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and a 12.8-inch MMI panoramic display. The dashboard has also been redesigned with a wider decorative inlay that spans from the instrument cluster to the passenger door. Owners can choose from four material options for the inlay, including carbon fiber, Dinamica microfiber, and two textile fabrics: “Light crepe” and “Impressum black.” The center console now features a cell phone tray oriented towards the driver, offering 25-watt wireless charging capabilities. All steering wheels in the updated A3 models incorporate a physical scroll wheel within their multifunction buttons. Three distinct steering wheel designs are available, including two double-spoke versions and a three-spoke, flat-top-and-bottom design for S line and S models.

Driver assistance systems are significantly expanded and organized into new Tech, Tech plus, and Tech pro packages. A core feature is the adaptive cruise assist plus, which combines adaptive cruise control with active lane guidance up to 210 km/h. For vehicles with automatic transmissions, this system manages longitudinal and lateral guidance, considering road markings, roadside structures, and surrounding traffic. It can perform automatic lane changes when the turn signal is activated and now includes automatic braking at red lights, resuming travel when the light turns green. The system also utilizes swarm data to adjust vehicle speed to the average road speed and online data to maintain lane position even without visible road markings. Use of online data is included for three years, with an option to extend via subscription. For parking and maneuvering, four wide-angle surround-view cameras provide a 360-degree image displayed in 3D on the MMI, offering multiple customizable views. Park assist plus and pro enable automatic parking, handling steering, acceleration, braking, and gear shifting. Park assist pro further includes a remote function, allowing drivers to initiate parking maneuvers via the myAudi app from outside the vehicle. Additionally, a new trained parking feature allows the A3 to memorize and automatically execute up to five specific parking maneuvers over a 50-meter distance.

The A3 lineup continues to offer a broad range of models and powertrains. This includes the Sportback, Sedan, and the A3 allstreet, which features three centimeters more ground clearance and a higher seating position. Engine options include gasoline and diesel units with outputs of 85 kW (116 PS) and 110 kW (150 PS). The A3 e-hybrid plug-in hybrid is available with system outputs of 150 kW (204 PS) and 200 kW (272 PS), offering an electric range of up to 143 kilometers (WLTP) and DC charging that can fully recharge the battery in approximately 30 minutes. Its trailer load capacity has increased to 1,700 kilograms. The sporty S3 model features a 245 kW (333 PS) four-cylinder turbocharged engine, while the RS3 is powered by a 294 kW (400 PS) 2.5 TFSI five-cylinder engine. Both S3 and RS3 models come with quattro all-wheel drive, a torque splitter for variable torque distribution, and unique digital daytime running light signatures, with the S3 gaining its own distinct signature. The updated A3 models will be available from mid-September 2026, with European pricing starting at 31,850 euros for the A3 Sportback, 45,350 euros for the A3 Sportback e-hybrid, 57,200 euros for the Audi S3, and 68,500 euros for the Audi RS3.
