Important Update for Jeep Door Hem Corrosion Repair

Owners of 2021-2026 Jeep Wrangler (JL) and 2021-2026 Jeep Gladiator (JT) vehicles should be aware of a significant change in the repair procedure for door hem aluminum body panel corrosion. Previously, these doors might have been replaced. However, the latest guidance indicates that these doors "should no longer be replaced. They can be repaired." This updated instruction applies to filiform corrosion and refinishing the Hem Flange area on the front and rear inner doors. For more detailed information, technicians are directed to Collision TSB 31-001-26.

Updated Warranty Claim Technician Selection Instructions

New guidelines are in place for selecting Technician Identification during warranty claim submissions. Dealers can "NO LONGER select 'NONE'" from the dropdown menu. For in-house body shop repairs, including filiform corrosion, a valid "Body Shop Technician MUST be selected" from the Technician Identification dropdown. If repairs are completed outside the dealership or at an Independent Repair Facility (IRF), "SUBLET" "MUST be selected" as the Technician Identification. All other repairs require a valid Technician from the dealership to be selected.

Recall Collateral Damage Claim Process Changes

Two new buttons, related to "Recall Collateral Damage," have been added to the DealerCONNECT Service tab and the Warranty Information Center (WIC). It is crucial to note that "These buttons are ONLY to be used for Recall Collateral Damage." Dealers have been incorrectly using these buttons for general warranty and warranty extension repairs. For these types of claims, the "LOP Related Inquiry" button on the DealerCONNECT Service tab or WIC should be used instead. The button names are being updated to clarify their specific purpose, changing from "Collateral Damage" to "Recall Collateral Damage."

Warranty Policy for Unsupported Gaskets with OE Engines

Effective March 2, 2026, a change in warranty claim policy will impact situations where an Original Equipment (OE) engine is used for a warranty repair when a remanufactured engine is available. Previously, such claims were adjusted based on the part price difference. This adjustment will now also apply to any gasket kits and other parts included with a remanufactured engine, as gaskets are typically included with reman engines.
