2021-2024 Jeep Wrangler Gladiator Corrosion Warranty TSB

FCA Caribbean Warranty Bulletin ID-23-03, Revision G, issued on October 16, 2024, introduces significant changes to the process for handling corrosion warranty claims for 2018-2024 Jeep Wrangler (JL) and 2020-2024 Jeep Gladiator (JT) vehicles. This bulletin aims to streamline paint repair and replacement claims related to corrosion by updating procedures, labor times, and material allowances. The bulletin is effective for repairs completed on or after August 13, 2024.

The bulletin specifically addresses the Jeep Wrangler Gladiator corrosion warranty process, making it easier for eligible vehicles to receive necessary repairs. It also incorporates 2024 model year vehicles into the updated guidelines and updates the Collision Service Bulletin number.

What's Changed in Corrosion Warranty Claims

For vehicles still under their corrosion warranty, the previous requirements for Vehicle Digital Imaging (VDI) pre-approval, measurement requirements, and the Repair vs Replace worksheet have been eliminated. This simplification applies to in-warranty claims, making the process more efficient for both owners and dealerships. New Labor Operations (LOPs) have been developed to cover all aspects of painting, de-trimming, repair, blending, and seam sealer removal and installation.

Important Warnings for Owners

This bulletin is a process change communication, not a coverage change. Always verify coverage using DealerCONNECT or wiADVISOR VIP. Owners should be aware of the following:

• Expired Warranty Claims: If a vehicle's Corrosion Warranty has expired, the dealer must still submit a Vehicle Digital Imaging request. This request must include photos of the customer's Filiform corrosion concerns. The dealer must also provide an internal Repair Order illustrating that the customer voiced their concern during the warranty period, along with the required photos.
• Goodwill Grid Process: If the customer did not report the concern during the corrosion coverage period, the standard Warranty Goodwill Grid process will apply.
• Hinge Replacement: A redesigned hinge with a new gasket has been created to address corrosion issues. If hinges are replaced, they MUST be replaced as a set (upper and lower per component) to avoid a visual mismatch. Do not replace hinges on other doors if no signs of corrosion are found.

Symptoms and Inspection

Dealers are instructed to perform a quality inspection of all hinge mounting areas and panel seams. Any panel showing corrosion should be addressed during the visit.
