Symptoms

Owners of certain 2022-2023 Audi models may experience an Audi A6 A/C cooling fault where the air conditioning system seems to function but cools insufficiently. The cabin humidity level may also remain high. This issue can manifest as low air conditioning cooling output in the vehicle interior.

Technicians performing diagnostics might observe that the fresh air and recirculation flap motors show no or intermittent operation. This prevents the system from properly switching between outside air and recirculated air after the recirculation function is activated from the control panel.

When diagnosing the Audi A6 A/C cooling fault, the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) may be stored in the 09 - Electronic Central Electrical (BCM) module:

Repair Procedure Summary

If your vehicle exhibits the symptoms of an Audi A6 A/C cooling fault and the control motors are identified with part number 85E 820 511, both the Recirculation Door Motor (V113) and the Fresh Air Door Motor (V438) must be replaced. The replacement part number is 4M0 820 511 A.
