SummaryDealer Daily Message: Certain U-joint kits (campaign part # 04007-13204) used in Customer Support Program ZH2 may have been produced without the appropriate amount of grease. These parts should not be installed on vehicles. Previously we requested that dealers return their current stock of this part number that does not have a GREEN dot on the box and on the U-joint as indicated in the photos on the following page. The supplier is now marking this part number with a BLUE dot on the U-joint, and no marking on the box as indicated in the photo on the following page. If either of these markings ARE NOT present, dealers should return the part. If either of these marking ARE NOT present, your facing PDC (Parts Distribution Center) may create a manual R8 exception return for these parts, and you can return them to your facing PDC for credit. Toyota is working to stock new inventory of these parts. Note that grease should not be added to these U-joint kits. They are designed to have the appropriate amount of grease applied during production and are non-serviceable.

SummaryTSB: Referencing this Service Bulletin provides best practice procedures when reassembling and installing the front shock absorber with coil spring. Some 2005 - 2015 model year Tacoma vehicles with applicable VDS have a different coil spring diameter. This may lead to a lateral force applied to the support plate upon reassembly of the front shock absorber with coil spring assembly. This may cause the inner rubber sleeve of the support plate to pull out when spring tension is released and the support plate to tilt. NOTE This Service Bulletin ONLY provides best practices for front shock absorber with coil spring assembly. The Repair Manual MUST be referenced with this bulletin when performing front shock absorber with coil spring assembly replacement.
